13: Building the Abyss

The Worms entered the arena and began to fight madly.

Traces of Abyss Power gathered above the arena, then were absorbed by the Pain Furnace.

Ye Chen watched the slowly fluctuating Abyss Power value, and his mouth gradually relaxed.

Although the growth rate was not fast, it could only increase by one point every two or three minutes in the real world.

But this steady, continuous growth made him feel very at ease.

Unconsciously rubbing his chin with his fingertips, Ye Chen suddenly remembered something and posed a question to Abyss Will:

"Can the time flow rate within the Abyss be permanently altered?"

There was a basic ten-fold time flow difference between the God Domain and the real world, so battles in the God Domain did not seem to take long in reality.

Previously, the original owner had spent a huge sum to purchase a ten-fold time acceleration card, which could speed up the time flow in the God Domain.

However, it only lasted for seven days, and only one could be used per month.

But the effect of time acceleration was extremely powerful, which was also the reason for the original owner's explosive increase in Worm numbers.

If permanent time acceleration could be obtained, not only would the Worms' cultivation speed be improved, but the output of the Pain Furnace could also be increased!

And Abyss Will's answer did not disappoint; it was indeed possible to permanently change the time flow rate by spending Abyss Power.

It was just that the price was much higher, with each increase of one-fold in the God Domain's time flow rate costing ten times more.

Based on the time flow rate of the Abyss world, increasing it to two times the time flow rate would cost ten thousand Abyss Power.

If one wanted to increase it to three times the flow rate, it would require an additional one hundred thousand Abyss Power.

Currently, Ye Chen could only increase it by one-fold for now.

With ten thousand Abyss Power spent, the effect was naturally immediate.

Every hour that passed in the real world, he could gain about fifty points of Abyss Power.

After settling the time flow rate, Ye Chen then turned his attention to improving the Worms' potential.

Spending three thousand Abyss Power to add a Devour Enhancement talent was extremely cost-effective.

But Worms were, after all, just Worms; their attack methods were monotonous, and their potential was limited.

He needed these Worms to be able to break through bloodline limitations and complete their Evolution, like Gluttony.

Attempting to add the "Evolution" talent to the Abyssal Worm race would cost six thousand Abyss Power.

And each subsequent direct addition of a talent would double the required Abyss Power.

Without hesitation, he directly added the Evolution talent, which had immense potential!

The next moment, strange dark purple patterns appeared on the surface of all the Worms.

Now, the Abyssal Worms had the potential for infinite improvement!

Next, Ye Chen checked other methods that could increase the Worms' strength.

After a while, Ye Chen finally made his choice.

【Corrupted Blood Pool】: Invest Flesh to generate blood springs. Abyssal creatures, after soaking, can acquire the Flesh Regeneration talent.

【Abyssal Blood Sun】: Placed in the sky of the Abyss, it can slowly enhance the spirituality of Abyssal creatures.

Both of these items were quite suitable for the Abyss. Although the Corrupted Blood Pool did not directly add talent, it was cheap.

It only cost five thousand Abyss Power to acquire, and Ye Chen did not lack Flesh; there were as many Abyssal Worms as he needed.

The Abyssal Blood Sun was the biggest expense this time, with thirty thousand Abyss Power making Ye Chen's heart ache.

But its effect was also extremely powerful, capable of enhancing the spirituality of all Abyssal creatures.

This spirituality included not only intelligence, comprehension, and mental power but also elemental affinity and more.

In short, thirty thousand Abyss Power was very cost-effective.

As the Abyssal Blood Sun slowly rose into the sky, the entire Abyss was tinged with a hazy dark red.

The Corrupted Blood Pool was placed near the arena, where uneaten Worm corpses could be directly discarded into it.

He instructed Abyss Will to arrange for the Worms to soak in the blood pool according to their strength.

After purchasing these, Ye Chen only had 12,300 Abyss Power left. Since there was nothing else he needed for now, he kept it for backup.

Next, Ye Chen turned his attention to the God Domain suspended in the sky in the distance.

This was naturally Su Qian's God Domain, and its environment was primarily composed of mountains and dense forests.

The remaining dozens of Harpies had long since died, eroded by negative aura.

As for Su Qian's God Domain, Ye Chen planned to integrate it into the first layer of the Abyss.

The first layer of the Abyss was home to over thirty thousand Abyssal Worms, and now with some additional structures, it seemed a bit crowded.

The God Domain plundered by the Abyss could just be used to increase its area.

There was also the option of using a God Domain Expansion Card to enlarge the God Domain's area, but with Ye Chen's wealth, that was naturally not an option he considered.

He tightly connected the two God Domains, then allowed the Abyss to merge them.

Soon, changes occurred where the God Domains connected.

Like two irregular ice cubes merging, they eventually formed a single entity.

Looking at the large extra territory, Ye Chen was in a great mood.

This territory was mainly composed of high mountains and dense forests, and there were also resources like iron ore.

As for the small animals living there, they had long since been ravaged by the Abyssal aura.

Thinking of this, Ye Chen opened the soul panel in Abyss Will again to check the gains inside.

The two battles had slain many Goblins and Harpies, and he wondered if he could summon them.

Indeed, two new species appeared in the soul panel.

He first chose to create a Goblin; like the Abyssal Worm, it only cost one point of Abyss Power.

Abyss Will quickly spat out a speck of light that transformed into a Goblin and landed on the ground.

This Goblin was a full 1.5 meters tall, with bulging veins under its dark skin, and cunning glints in its shifting eyes.

Clearly, this Goblin possessed a certain degree of intelligence.

Zheng Lun's Goblin army was around 1.2 meters tall, and clearly not as robust as this Goblin.

As expected of Abyss-produced, it was indeed extraordinary.

However, upon checking its attributes, Ye Chen still couldn't help but frown.

【Race Name】: Abyssal Goblin (Tier 1)

【Level】: Elite Creature (1-star)

【Talent】: Throw (Goblins are skilled at using various crude throwing weapons, such as stones and javelins, and have a certain degree of accuracy, able to cause damage to enemies from a certain distance.)

After checking the Goblin's attributes, Ye Chen was somewhat disappointed.

He didn't expect this enhanced Goblin to still be so weak; although its talent was ranged attack, it was clearly not powerful enough.

He had the Goblin activate its Throw skill.

The little dark one picked and chose on the ground, finding a stone of suitable size.

Then, it swung its arm in a full circle and threw it forcefully.

The stone made a whistling sound as it flew into the distance, traveling about fifty meters before losing momentum and falling to the ground.

He also tested the power of the throw; it could exert its maximum power within thirty meters, smashing a deep pit into a stone.

The power was stronger than expected, but only marginally so.

After all, this was a transcendent world, and a skill like Throw was destined not to make it to the big stage.

Fortunately, Goblins had hands and feet and could do some odd jobs.

He summoned all six hundred-plus Goblins and placed them under the command of a "giant" Goblin, one meter seventy tall.

He arranged for them to clear the uneaten Worm corpses in the various arenas and discard them into the Corrupted Blood Pool.

Next, Ye Chen's gaze shifted to the Harpy souls suspended in the distance.

He knew that the real surprise might still be ahead.
