124: Training

On the way to the training center, Shen Jin operated the black wristband while explaining the identity binding process to Ye Chen.

He quickly swiped his finger across the screen, brought up the authentication interface, and then placed the raven medal on Ye Chen's chest close to the wristband.

With a crisp "ding" sound, the raven's ruby-like eyes flickered slightly, and the identity information was successfully recorded.

The raven's eyes on Ye Chen's medal were inlaid with a red gem; evidently, different colors represented different ranks.

According to Shen Jin, gem colors are divided into seven ranks: red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and purple, with purple being the highest.

He himself had only upgraded to orange after recruiting Ye Chen.

Shen Jin handed the wristband to Ye Chen, and after watching him complete the iris scan, he continued to explain:

"This wristband is equivalent to the organization's encrypted communicator. All classified documents and mission directives will be transmitted through it."

"Oh, and each member can record a codename. You can use your codename for daily communication. My codename is 'Myna'; you should pick one too."

Ye Chen nodded knowingly upon hearing Shen Jin's codename, finding it very fitting.

Rubbing the cold wristband, he pondered for a moment before looking up and replying, "Then my codename will be 'Abyss'!"

Shen Jin shook his head repeatedly, advising:

"Members of our organization generally use bird names as codenames. Your codename is a bit out of place."

But Ye Chen was unmoved and firmly pressed the confirm button.

In an instant, all wristbands in the organization vibrated simultaneously, and the notification of new member "Abyss" joining flashed on the screens.

Shen Jin looked at the notification and shrugged helplessly.

Following the little beauty's guidance, the two arrived at the base's training center, a silver-gray building full of technological flair.

They registered at the training center's front desk.

This is where newly joined headquarters members receive various skill trainings, including stealth, assassination techniques, disguise, infiltration training, combat skills, and a series of other abilities.

Since they did not join the organization through normal procedures, the two missed the group training and were instead trained individually by an instructor.

Shen Jin was fine; he had already received some training at the branch previously and now only needed to supplement some new knowledge.

Ye Chen, however, had no foundation whatsoever, but his Shadow Power had a unique advantage in these areas.

After registering, the two were told to return at 7 AM the next morning, when an instructor would train them.

Out of helplessness, they could only accompany each other to explore the entire base first.

What interested Ye Chen most was naturally the Waste Domain. Shen Jin hadn't lied; the organization had indeed granted Ye Chen unlimited access to the Waste Domain.

He could even live in the Waste Domain if he wished.

After their tour, the two returned to the room arranged by the organization. Members of Night Raven are paired up to execute missions together.

As teammates, their living quarters were naturally together.

Of course, each had his own room.

Under normal circumstances, Ye Chen would definitely be unwilling to be roommates with that scoundrel Shen Jin.

Now with the option of the Waste Domain, he decided to settle there permanently in the future.

As soon as he returned to the room, Ye Chen began packing his belongings, preparing to take them to the Waste Domain.

Shen Jin couldn't stay in his own room and went to Ye Chen's room, intending to deepen their bond.

Seeing Ye Chen packing his bedding, he asked in surprise, "What? You're not really planning to live in the Waste Domain, are you?"

Ye Chen nodded.

"I will arrive at the training center punctually at 7 AM tomorrow."

"No, why would you go to that godforsaken place? To be an ascetic?"

Shen Jin was even more astonished, not understanding Ye Chen's actions.

"I cultivate my Kin through 'gu' cultivation; the environment of the Waste Domain helps my Kin improve."

Ye Chen briefly explained.

But Shen Jin was clearly somewhat incredulous.

"'Gu' cultivation? You're not kidding, are you? The chaotic aura there will kill them."

Ye Chen continued to lie through his teeth.

"No matter. My Kin are special; they can absorb these negative auras during battle and strengthen themselves."

"Really? Don't push yourself too hard. If their foundations are damaged, it would be a huge loss."

Shen Jin kindly reminded him, after all, they were teammates, and if Ye Chen became useless, he would suffer greatly.

Ye Chen waved his hand, signaling Shen Jin not to worry.

"Really, I wouldn't joke about my own fate."

Ye Chen paused after speaking, then asked the question that had been buried in his heart.

"By the way, I've always had a question. When we first met, why did you want me to join? At that time, I seemed to be just an ordinary, unsuccessful student, right?"

That was when he had just transmigrated, and it was his most vulnerable and helpless moment. At that time, he hadn't displayed any special qualities.

Shen Jin feigned mystery:

"Hey, the first time I saw you, I felt you were no ordinary person and would surely achieve great things in the future, which is why I intentionally befriended you."

"You later proved me right, truly worthy of being the man Shen Jin chose!"

Ye Chen frowned, interrupting his boasting.

"Speak like a normal person!"

"I cast a wide net and fish diligently. I often recruit people near your School, and I just happened to run into you then..."

Shen Jin's words resolved Ye Chen's doubts; it turned out to be a blind cat stumbling upon a dead mouse.

He had originally worried if there was anything peculiar about his transmigration that made Shen Jin notice him, but it seemed he had worried for nothing.

Ignoring the chattering Shen Jin, Ye Chen directly hoisted his packed luggage and walked out of the room.

He bought some steamed meat buns and mineral water when passing by the cafeteria, planning to just grab a quick bite.

Arriving at the transfer center, he found the Waste Domain's teleportation array. After scanning his medal, the teleportation array officially activated.

Ye Chen, carrying large and small bags, stepped into it.

Familiar spatial fluctuations enveloped his entire body. When he opened his eyes again, he was in the silent Waste Domain; there was no sign of life except for Ye Chen.

This time, Ye Chen didn't run around aimlessly but directly found a flat spot to organize his gear.

He wondered if there were spatial storage items within the base; he should get one to use, otherwise moving these daily necessities back and forth would be quite a hassle.

After organizing everything, Ye Chen directly set up a picnic in the Waste Domain until he was full, then leisurely lay down.

His consciousness sank into the Abyss, contemplating future development.

If he were to reside permanently in the Waste Domain, Abyss Power should not be lacking.

In the Waste Domain, he could absorb at least twenty million Abyss Power in a day and a night, which was an incredibly terrifying number.

In such abundant circumstances, he could completely wage a "war of attrition."

Even if his strength was inferior to the enemy, he could resurrect infinitely; if one life wasn't enough, then ten lives, he would always be able to conquer the world.

The Element World seemed quite suitable; the various Demon Beasts within it were self-governing, so there was no need to worry about them forming a coalition to counterattack into the Abyss.

If he truly encountered an unblockable strong enemy, he could just die and return, then invade from a different direction next time.

Thinking this, Ye Chen sent a message to the Demon Dragon, telling it his thoughts.
