98: Three-headed fire snake

As the small world was absorbed and devoured by the abyss, Ye Chen conveniently revived all the dog-headed people and Ogres he had previously wiped out.

This group of dusty dog-headed people had no other skills, but they were quite adept at mining.

It just so happened that many ore veins were hidden within the Tenth Layer Abyss, so he simply threw them down there to be neighbors with the magic-kin and demons, serving as free labor.

Meanwhile, the dog-headed High Priest, Lei Ya, actually managed to break through to Level 6.

Although only at the Extraordinary-level, he was a genuine Level 6 powerhouse and a Lightning Mage to boot.

Lei Ya hadn't expected that after decades of tempering in his original world without advancing, he would actually advance after dying once.

Afterward, Ye Chen called Lei Ya to his side and asked about the secret realm of the Ancient Dragon Race.

Now that Long Ya was a believer of the abyss, Nature dictated he would no longer talk nonsense.

He honestly recounted his fortuitous encounter; there was indeed a magic circle, though what kind of circle it was remained unknown.

Hearing this, Ye Chen became interested in the magic circle.

The area of this small world wasn't large, and in the decades Long Ya had ruled, he hadn't seen a single dragon, let alone a dragon scale.

Why would a Dragon Egg appear in the ore vein? Why were the Ogres supervising their mining? And where did the ore finally go?

One must know that Ogres were not skilled in iron smelting or commerce; they neither wore armor nor used iron weapons.

And all the raw ore the dog-headed people had mined for so many years—no one knew where it had been sent.

This gave Ye Chen reason to suspect that both the dog-headed people and the Ogres were located in a large-scale "Black Kiln" or rather, a "prison" within the small world.

The difference was that the dog-headed people were the "prisoners," responsible for mining and providing labor.

The Ogres were the "jailers," responsible for supervising the labor of these dog-headed people.

As for that magic circle, it was naturally a teleportation array for transporting supplies.

This explained why the ore mined by the dog-headed people for years had vanished without a trace.

It was just unknown how the Ogres had originally opened the teleportation array.

The Ogre commander of that time had long since been killed by Lei Ya, so this secret naturally died with him.

As for the dog-headed people's later successful rebellion, this "Black Kiln" had been abandoned ever since.

After so many years, the people on the other side of the teleportation gate hadn't even bothered to take a look, clearly not taking this place seriously.

Hearing from Lei Ya that the teleportation array required dragon blood to activate, Ye Chen had some suspicions about the identity of the kiln's owner.

If nothing went wrong, the other side should be a giant dragon!

And the Dragon Egg in the ore vein had likely slipped out from the teleportation array.

This made Ye Chen unable to contain his excitement.

That was a true giant dragon!

Although giant dragons weren't considered rare in the Great World and the Myriad Realms,

In most worlds, they were considered top-tier combatants.

Of course, if the other side really was a Dragon's Lair, Ye Chen would have to think twice.

Although he had a Demon Dragon of his own, it wasn't at its peak state yet and still needed to grow.

And there was no telling what the strength of the giant dragon on the other side was.

Thinking of this, Ye Chen couldn't help but find a Shadow Assassin to send a message to the Demon Dragon, asking it to return for a moment.

With a blind box in hand, although it might contain a bomb, he would always feel restless if he didn't open it.

The Demon Dragon was currently fighting a Three-Headed Fire Snake Lord; as soon as the Shadow Assassin appeared, it was directly incinerated to death by a burst of flame.

The Demon Dragon naturally saw the Shadow Assassin and knew Ye Chen had something for him, but since he couldn't pull himself away, he decided to wait until he was finished.

After waiting for a while, the Demon Dragon still hadn't returned.

The revived Shadow Assassin reported on the Demon Dragon's battle situation.

Ye Chen could only suppress the agitation in his heart, hoping the Demon Dragon could kill that Three-Headed Fire Snake.

Over the past few days, the Demon Dragon had also sacrificed some fire-type creature souls of relatively high quality, all being Level 3 to Level 5 Extraordinary-level creatures.

After revival, none had broken through to Level 6, and they were all thrown by Ye Chen near the volcano in the Nine Layer Abyss.

Now, seeing it could fight the Demon Dragon for so long, it seemed the strength of this Three-Headed Fire Snake was not low.

If it could be successfully killed, his side would gain another high-level combatant.

Setting aside his thoughts, Ye Chen continued to inspect the small world.

Although this small world was small, it was still extremely vast compared to a God's Domain, with an area exceeding 300,000 square kilometers.

It consisted mainly of plains, while the iron-producing regions featured mountainous and hilly terrain.

Aside from iron ore, resources here were extremely scarce, with only some ordinary animals and low-level magical beasts.

The Dire Wolves subdued by Lei Ya were already the top-tier magical beasts among them.

Ye Chen did not place it directly into the various layers of the abyss, but instead positioned it between the Tenth Layer Abyss and the Camouflage Layer, forming the Eleventh Layer Abyss.

Before this blind box was opened, it was still a time bomb.

Placing it here was the safest; even if a giant dragon were to burst out from it, there was still the massive Tenth Layer Abyss standing in the way.

After drifting in the Great World for half a day, the Demon Dragon finally returned to the abyss.

However, its appearance was a bit peculiar.

On both sides of its dragon head, two large lumps had bulged out, looking like two large tumors.

Ye Chen was slightly stunned upon seeing this and asked about the Demon Dragon's condition.

The Demon Dragon was also very confused; he had simply fought that Three-Headed Fire Dragon, killed it, and then devoured its corpse.

Then, some changes occurred in his body.

Ye Chen guessed it should be the effect of Devour Enhancement or Evolution; such changes should be for the better.

Hearing that the Demon Dragon had killed the Three-Headed Fire Dragon, Ye Chen hurriedly checked the soul list.

Sure enough, its soul appeared prominently on the list.

Revival required 10,000 Abyss Power.

Cheap!

Ye Chen grinned and with a wave of his hand, revived it.

"Come forth! My Three-Headed Great Snake!"

Countless points of light coalesced into the image of a giant snake, and then a majestic and overbearing black-red Netherflame giant snake appeared before Ye Chen.

A genuine Level 6 Epic creature!

Ye Chen's face was nearly twitching from smiling; as expected, letting the Demon Dragon go hunting in the wild was the right move!

Say no more; he would have this fire snake go hunting as well to form a high-end combat force as soon as possible.

If he could pull together a team of Level 6 Epic creatures, he would even dare to clash with a Demigod of the Sachi World!

The Demon Dragon naturally didn't know what Ye Chen was thinking, but the way Ye Chen looked at him—like he was looking at prey—made him quite uncomfortable.

Seeing the Demon Dragon's unfriendly gaze, Ye Chen quickly pulled back his obnoxious expression and told the Demon Dragon about the situation with the teleportation array.

Hearing that there might be his giant dragon kin on the other side of the teleportation array, the Demon Dragon also became interested.

Then, under Lei Ya's guidance, they arrived at the teleportation array.
