143: Holy Inquisition
The Demon Dragon looked at the old man before him, and alarm bells rang in his heart; this person had reached the limit of the seventh rank and could break through at any moment.
Although he was only at the early seventh rank, with the Laws of Chaos and his domain, he was confident that no one of the same rank could defeat him.
The Pope looked at the fallen cultivators, pointed his scepter, and the souls of these cultivators immediately left their bodies, turning into specks of light that flew towards the Holy Mountain.
The Demon Dragon's heart skipped a beat. This old man knows soul magic!
It seemed he needed to be more cautious, or if his soul was caught, he might as well go to bed.
To be safe, he sent a demon back to the Abyss to call for reinforcements, urging the Fire Kirin to free up his hands and quickly provide support.
Immediately after, the Land of Finality rapidly expanded, pressing against the Divine Domain.
The Demon Dragon was not idle either; his three heads attacked simultaneously.
"Hurricane of Finality"
"Nine Heavens Thunder Annihilation"
"Chaos Annihilation Bomb"
Three attacks imbued with fundamental laws rushed towards the Pope, with a host of Light Church followers also within the attack range.
"Light Eternal"
The Pope's scepter struck the ground heavily, the sound of sacred hymns in the Divine Domain grew louder, and the golden sun and Heaven Mountain shone brightly, illuminating the entire domain into an ocean of light.
Immediately after, a pillar of light shot out from the sun, meeting the Demon Dragon's three skills.
Meanwhile, the constantly circling angels formed legions and charged towards the Land of Finality, intending to purify this evil place.
The pillar of light annihilated the lightning and storms, but it could not erode the power of Chaos.
The Chaos Annihilation Bomb exploded after entering the Divine Domain, tearing a black hole-like gap in the domain.
The power of Light attempted to fill this missing part but failed; the black hole was not only unfilled but was slowly expanding.
The Pope ignored this gap, intending to use defense as offense to quickly kill the Demon Dragon.
"Purification Flame"
Platinum-gold flames appeared out of thin air within the Divine Domain, rapidly spreading towards the Demon Dragon.
The Demon Dragon did not care about this flame; he was a genuine Red Dragon.
He continued to spew Chaos Annihilation Bombs, riddling the Divine Domain like a beehive.
However, the Thunder Dragon and Wind Dragon were extremely wary of this Purification Flame, each launching attacks to erode the platinum-gold flames.
When the angel legion entered the Land of Finality, they became completely lost within the domain.
Taking just one step forward inexplicably led them to another place.
Some angels, wielding longswords burning with holy flames, swung at the Demon Dragon, but during their charge, they were accidentally teleported behind their comrades, injuring them instead.
And those angels preparing long-range attacks also fell into disarray; their launched skills transformed into chaotic energy, backfiring on themselves.
Their troubles did not stop there; countless bizarre-shaped monsters appeared in the Land of Finality and attacked them.
At this point, the angels were completely helpless; they couldn't fight, nor could they escape.
Soon, the entire angel legion was trapped in the Land of Finality, and casualties gradually began to mount.
Seeing his side gradually losing ground, the Pope's expression turned extremely grim; this dragon was more troublesome than any enemy he had encountered before.
He must slay him, otherwise, once his Divine Domain was breached, he would have little power to retaliate.
Thinking of this, he brought out the Holy Spear hidden above Heaven Mountain—the Spear of Longinus.
This spear was considered the Light Church's primary offensive holy artifact, rumored to possess god-slaying power.
The phantom he shot out before appearing was modeled after the spear's power.
Upon its appearance, the entire Divine Domain trembled; its presence seemed to represent the purest light, dimming both the golden sun and Heaven Mountain.
"Go!"
The Pope's scepter pointed at the Demon Dragon, and this spear, carrying his hopes, directly tore through space, appearing before the Demon Dragon.
Before the Demon Dragon could react, he found a holy spear already before him, and the Land of Finality had not reacted at all.
The Demon Dragon had a premonition that if this spear pierced his body, he would likely die.
"Yanmo Descends to the World"
At the critical moment, the Demon Dragon barely managed to transform, turning into a seventh-rank peak Demon God body.
The Holy Spear pierced through the Demon God's body, and the power of Light instantly erupted, completely severing his life force.
After the Demon God disappeared, the Demon Dragon appeared in his original spot with a look of relief. Fortunately, he transformed into the Demon God to block the attack, otherwise, he would have taken that spear.
The Demon Dragon's tail, like a long snake, coiled around the Holy Spear that was darting about in the Land of Finality.
After delivering this blow, the Holy Spear's power greatly diminished, and it was firmly entangled by the Demon Dragon, unable to return.
Before the Holy Spear could break free, it was directly thrown into a portal by the Demon Dragon, cast into the Abyss.
The Pope's heart sank as he saw his holy artifact taken and his angels trapped within the domain.
And the Divine Domain was slowly disintegrating under the black hole'sDevour, likely unable to hold on for much longer.
Before his own domain completely collapsed, he reined it in, gathering all the light within himself, transforming into a four-winged battle angel wielding a Holy Sword.
The four wings behind the battle angel gently flapped, and he shot towards the Demon Dragon like an arrow of light.
However, as soon as he entered the Land of Finality, he felt something was wrong; time and space here were completely distorted.
If he wanted to attack, he would have to violently break through these spatiotemporal restrictions, otherwise, he would only fall into chaos within this spatiotemporal turbulence.
Glancing at the Demon Dragon not far away, the Pope had an idea.
He raised the longsword in his hand and roared:
"Holy Judgment!"
A giant angel phantom appeared behind him; the angel held a scale, with a phantom of the Demon Dragon on one end and a feather on the other.
The angel released the feather from his fingers, letting it fall onto the scale.
As the feather slowly descended, the Demon Dragon also felt a crisis, as if encountering a natural predator.
He had a premonition that when the feather landed on the scale, something terrifying would happen.
This judgment ability, like a rule-based one, might directly affect his soul!
However, until everything was judged, he could not make any move, only wait for the final result.
Just then, the Fire Kirin's figure emerged from the portal, discovering the Demon Dragon's predicament.
He did not hesitate and directly attacked the Pope.
A crimson-gold pillar of light containing the Law of Destruction sprayed towards the Pope, and the Land of Finality did not hinder this attack at all.
The Pope's pupils suddenly constricted; he had not expected to encounter another demigod-level magical beast here.
However, he now needed to maintain the "Holy Judgment" skill and, like the Demon Dragon, could not react.
The Cardinal Bishop and the Holy Knight Captain hurriedly activated their skills to try and block this breath attack, but their attacks were reflected back by the Land of Finality, injuring themselves instead.
The moment the breath attack was upon him, the golden silk robe on the Pope's body transformed into a phantom, attempting to block the blow.
After blocking for just one breath, the robe phantom shattered, and the Holy Flame Breath hit the Pope squarely.
