135: Attack of the Dragon

Gazing at the majestic body of the Ancient Red Dragon, Ye Chen said earnestly:

"A-Long, since you have this special skill, don't go to the Elemental World. Go to Dragon Island, find a way to infiltrate, and then act as circumstances dictate."

"If possible, kill a few more dragon cubs and send them back. Our Abyss needs a Dragon Legion!"

The Demon Dragon snorted in dissatisfaction after hearing this, understanding Ye Chen's meaning.

The Elemental World had already been successfully pioneered, and with a native continuing the development, it no longer needed to hunt there. It was now required to infiltrate Dragon Island.

Well, the most difficult task still fell to me.

The Demon Dragon smacked its lips, falling into recollection—how long had it been since it had a truly peaceful night's sleep?

Indeed, with great power comes great responsibility. Who told me I was the Abyss's top enforcer?

Alright, I've had enough fun in the Elemental World. Let's go to Dragon Island for an exciting undercover game.

Thinking this, it nodded to Ye Chen, accepting the heavy responsibility.

Ye Chen smiled in relief. As expected of our little dragon, he's truly reliable.

Space twisted, and a tall teleportation gate opened before the Demon Dragon. It flicked its tail and stepped into the gate, once again embarking alone on a journey to the Otherworld.

...

On a small island outside Dragon Island, a teleportation gate unfolded.

The former Goblin island had been reduced to a charred wasteland after the last great battle.

At this moment, the Demon Dragon, transformed into a dusty Goblin, squatted by the reef, gazing at Dragon Island in the distance.

The entire area of Dragon Island was currently enveloped by a massive magic array, with occasional patrolling dragons flying by. Any slight disturbance would be detected by the dragons within Dragon Island.

Fortunately, the desolate island it was on was inside the magic array; otherwise, it could only sigh in longing.

To avoid attracting the attention of the dragons on the island, it needed an inconspicuous identity to infiltrate.

Although these dragons were powerful, they still needed to eat. If its guess was correct, the numerous small islands scattered around Dragon Island must contain plenty of meat.

It should first check the situation on the other affiliated small islands before deciding.

Thinking this, the Demon Dragon transformed once more into a giant catfish, its tail slapping the water as it swam towards the nearest islands.

It selected one of the larger islands and landed. This island was extremely rich in resources, home to many wild beasts.

There were no dragons on the island, only a Goblin tribe existed at the island's edge.

The Demon Dragon, in its Goblin form, took advantage of a lone Goblin, decisively killed it, and then transformed into that Goblin's likeness.

After sacrificing the Goblin back to the Abyss, the Demon Dragon carried a small deer it had hunted and returned to the camp.

"Abas, you had a good harvest today."

The Goblin guard, clutching a rusty iron spear, stared at the small deer on the Demon Dragon's shoulder.

Fearing exposure, the Demon Dragon dared not speak. It hunched its back like other Goblins, grunted a nod, and started to walk into the camp.

The guard found this strange. This wasn't Abas's personality; normally, he would brag to him.

The Demon Dragon didn't know what he was thinking and walked into the tribe carrying the small deer.

Seeing a meat storage pile in the center, it walked straight towards it.

There were also Goblins guarding the food pile. They nodded at the Demon Dragon as it approached, acknowledging him.

The Demon Dragon responded in kind, then threw the small deer onto the meat pile.

The meat pile contained various animal carcasses, their blood attracting a large number of flies.

Just as the Demon Dragon was about to leave, it saw an elderly Goblin emerge from the largest tent in the center and slowly walk to the meat pile.

The Demon Dragon looked at this Goblin, sniffing a familiar scent from him.

This Goblin was somewhat similar to Lei Ya—he was a Dragon-blooded Goblin!

Indeed, the Goblin raised the staff in his hand, and a stream of icy air flew out from it, engulfing the large pile of meat.

Under the continuous blowing of the icy air, the low temperature slowly froze all the fresh meat, achieving an excellent preservation effect.

The guards nearby quickly grabbed the large leaves piled on both sides and covered the meat pile to block out sunlight and slow down the melting of the ice.

The Demon Dragon understood. It seemed this Goblin had acquired the bloodline of an Ice Dragon.

Presumably, the dragons had bestowed the bloodline to ensure they could always eat fresh meat, allowing him to freeze it at any time.

Ultimately, he was just a "human refrigerator."

"The meat has been collected enough. Have someone pick some dragon breath fruits and arrange for ships to deliver them to Dragon Island tomorrow."

The elderly Goblin instructed a nearby guard.

dragon breath fruit was not a rare item; it was just a seasoning cultivated by the Goblins.

After consumption, the mouth and throat would feel numbingly hot, and a fiery sensation like dragon breath would erupt in the mouth.

"Yes, Great Elder."

The guard bowed in response, watching the Great Elder leave.

At this moment, he noticed Abas staring at him.

"What's wrong, Abas? Is there anything else? I'll record your contribution today. You can come to me directly for food later."

The guard thought Abas was worried his hunting contribution for the day hadn't been recorded, which was why he wouldn't leave.

"Can I be counted among those transporting meat to Dragon Island tomorrow?"

The Demon Dragon asked.

"Oh? Why do you want to go to Dragon Island? The adult dragons there don't have very good tempers."

The guard asked somewhat puzzled. Transporting meat to Dragon Island was not a good job; encountering a bad-tempered dragon could easily lead to an innocent death.

"I've been around this small island countless times. The world is so big, I want to see the scenery of Dragon Island."

After hearing the Demon Dragon's words, the guard didn't try to persuade him further and nodded in agreement.

His relationship with Abas wasn't particularly good, so a single reminder was already showing kindness.

Having received the desired answer, the Demon Dragon left contentedly.

It didn't wander around anymore. Since it didn't know Abas's residence, it simply found a hidden corner to stay in.

It wasn't until night fell and Goblins began to gather in the central area that it moved with the crowd.

Upon arriving, it saw a large pot set up in the open space, with a group of Goblins eagerly staring at it.

Several female Goblins were continuously adding various random ingredients to the pot.

Wild fruits, roots, insects, lizards, mice, wild vegetables…

For omnivorous Goblins, there was nothing they couldn't eat, but clearly, their standard of living wasn't high.

The resources on this small island were extremely abundant, and small animals were countless.

From the mountain of meat piled in the food storage area, it was clear they had hunted a lot.

However, those were ultimately not for them to enjoy; they were offerings to the powerful dragons. They could only eat the "chaff" that the dragons disdained.
