Chapter 106 Zhong Yuanxin's Aura Unleashed

Shen Pianran stood up, ignoring Wen Huilin who had just unleashed her big move, and went over to Section Chief Sun to pick up the voucher and take a look.

It was indeed that information consulting fee paid to Jiang Shan.

She didn't show any panic, placed the voucher back on the table, and turned her head to say, "Section Chief Sun, our finance director is away on a business trip."

She raised her hand to check the Blancpain watch on her wrist. "She should be back soon. Why don't we wait a moment? She will give you a reasonable explanation."

Section Chief Sun frowned and said, "According to regulations, your company's expenditure has neither a record of withholding and remitting taxes nor a compliant invoice. This is not something that can be explained away."

He had come here with a mission; since it was something Deputy Director Qian had entrusted to him, he naturally had to follow the rules and regulations.

Hearing this on the other side, the frustration Wen Huilin felt from being crushed by Shen Pianran just moments ago dissipated by more than half.

She straightened her back, a hint of a smile finally appearing on her lips, and her gaze traveled across the conference table to land on Shen Pianran's face.

"That's right. Breaking the law isn't something you can just explain away. Where is your legal representative? Where is the boss?"

The more she spoke, the more excited she became. She had finally found an angle to strike back, and she even raised her head a little higher.

Shen Pianran paid no attention to her clamoring and turned to look at Section Chief Sun instead. "Can we not even wait for a moment?"

Section Chief Sun shook his head, closed the folder, and feigned a bitter smile. "We are also just following procedure. Who is your company's legal representative? We need to verify the relevant situation with him in person."

Shen Pianran was helpless and was just about to speak when the conference room door was pushed open.

Zhong Yuanxin stood at the doorway, carrying the briefcase she had just brought back from Jiangning, the chill of the outdoors still clinging to her trench coat.

She swept a glance over the people in the conference room, her eyes passing over the uniforms of Section Chief Sun and his team, as well as Wen Huilin's unbridled smile, before landing on Shen Pianran.

"Lawyer Shen, a tax audit? Making such a big fuss."

She placed her briefcase on the table, took off her trench coat, and draped it over the back of the chair, her movements so composed that she didn't look intimidated at all.

Afterward, she addressed Section Chief Sun, "My surname is Zhong, and I am the finance director of Hengxing Investment. If you have any business, talk to me."

Shen Pianran walked over to her side and explained a few things briefly.

After hearing clearly that it was a real-name report by Wen Huilin regarding an un-invoiced twenty-thousand information consulting fee, and that the tax audit team had come to retrieve the accounts and vouchers.

Zhong Yuanxin nodded, turned her face to look at Section Chief Sun beside her, "Section Chief Sun, right? Before giving a formal response, I also have a few questions I'd like to clarify first."

After finishing, she turned to Wen Huilin, "This Ms. Wen, you are the one who made the real-name report, correct? Then let me ask you, where did you learn the specific details of this twenty-thousand expenditure? The recipient's name, the amount, the purpose—these are internal corporate financial data, not public information. How did you obtain them?"

Wen Huilin lifted her chin, meeting Zhong Yuanxin's gaze, "It was me. Is there a problem?"

Zhong Yuanxin did not answer her but instead turned to Section Chief Sun, "Section Chief Sun, I have a question I'd like to ask."

As she spoke, she raised her hand and pointed at Wen Huilin, "This Ms. Wen is reporting our company for tax evasion. What is her basis for this? How did she know our company had an information consulting fee of twenty thousand, and was even clearly aware of whether an invoice had been issued or not?"

"Data in the tax system is protected by law; ordinary citizens cannot access the details of a company's tax returns. Where did she get this data in her hands?"

Her voice had been relatively calm at first, but as she continued, her words became more intense, and her final question carried a hint of severity.

Section Chief Sun was taken aback by Zhong Yuanxin's attitude. He had gone out to perform official duties countless times, but this was the first time he had encountered someone so tough. Before he could even open his mouth to answer, Jian Ting on the other side spoke up first.

She placed a document she was holding on the table, her tone cold and business-like, "Director Zhong, this is a tax audit, and the procedures are compliant. As the finance director, you only need to cooperate with our work and provide the relevant materials. As for the issue of the whistleblower's source of information, that is not the focus of our audit today."

"Not the focus?" Zhong Yuanxin turned to look at Jian Ting, her gaze sharp, though her tone remained steady. "The whistleblower comes to report us with data that can only be accessed within the tax system, and this isn't the focus? I would like to ask, did she find this through her own ability, or did someone help her look it up in the system?"

She paused for a moment, then swept a glance over the group. "If it is the latter, then today's audit is not just targeting our company, but also involves the issue of internal tax system personnel illegally leaking corporate tax-related information."

Subsequently, she fixed her gaze back on Jian Ting, glanced at her name tag, and said coldly, "Ms. Jian, you are from the International Taxation Division. You should be more aware than I am of the regulations in Article 87 of the 'Law on the Administration of Tax Collection' regarding the confidentiality of tax-related information."

Jian Ting's expression changed slightly, her lips pressed tight, but she did not speak again.

At this moment, Wen Huilin could no longer hold back. She stood up abruptly. "I heard it from my husband at home, is that not allowed? Chen Ang is my husband; he is the actual controller of this company, and he knows the company's financial situation clearly. He told me himself, so what? Is there a problem?"

Zhong Yuanxin looked at her, her gaze as calm as a pool of water. "Chen Ang told you? Ms. Wen, Chen Ang is just a temporary driver at this company; he doesn't even have an administrative position."

As she spoke, she suddenly smiled, pursed her lips, and said, "You don't think a temporary worker would have the authorization to access financial statements or the qualifications to participate in financial decision-making, do you?"

"Also, you say he is the actual controller, so please provide evidence. Do you have a nominee shareholding agreement? Do you have a shareholders' meeting resolution? Which article in the company's articles of association states that he is the actual controller?"

Wen Huilin opened her mouth, the color rising in her face bit by bit. "The legal representative is his younger brother, Chen Zhuo. Isn't that obvious? I am his legal wife; the company under his name is the company under my name. I have half of the marital property! Why does he have the right to hide it from me and not let me know?"

"What a joke, you say this is marital property." Zhong Yuanxin suddenly sat down, then leaned back into the chair, saying in a still-steady tone, "Where is the evidence? What proof do you have that Chen Ang is the actual controller of this company?"

"The shareholding structure of Hengxing Investment is public in the industrial and commercial system; the shareholder is Xinhengtai Capital, and the legal representative is Chen Zhuo. Chen Zhuo is an adult with full capacity for civil conduct, and his status as a shareholder is protected by law."

"You say there is someone holding shares for him behind the scenes; you must provide evidence. Without evidence, the law does not recognize the four words 'I am his wife'."

Wen Huilin's fingers gripped the edge of the table, her expression gradually becoming ferocious. She asked sharply, "Then why does he drive the company's bentley? Why can he charge the company's bill when eating at a high-end restaurant like Suiyuan Restaurant? Does a driver have the qualifications to drive a car worth over four million?"

Zhong Yuanxin scoffed, turned to sit on the chair next to her, and no longer paid any attention to her, adopting an attitude of complete contempt.

She didn't speak, and Shen Pianran, who was beside her, stood out.
