Chapter 62 Multiple Methods Targeting Tu Yuandong
Now that the two sums of money had arrived and his plans had been put into action, it was time to reveal a few things.
Therefore, Chen Ang only mentioned the bitcoin, but didn't say exactly how much he had.
However, since he had hired Zhong Yuanxin as the CFO, Yu Liang would sooner or later know how much money he had.
There was no need to deliberately hide it; besides, over these past seven years, the couple had been among the few people who treated him with genuine sincerity.
"We chatted on the phone before, about how I helped a friend and am now getting a return on that—that's what this bitcoin is."
Yu Liang recalled what Chen Ang had mentioned to him in passing.
Chen Ang nodded, "At the time, I had no idea what was in there. That friend later died in a car accident, and I didn't go asking for money, nor did I remember the USB drive he had given me."
Yu Liang drained his glass in one go and didn't ask further. He smiled and said, "Perhaps this is a case of a blessing in disguise. Since such a stroke of great luck has fallen into your lap, Angzi, you must seize it well."
"Also, be careful about that other matter; don't give away what belongs to you."
Chen Ang nodded and also downed his drink in one gulp. How could he not know that Yu Liang was talking about Wen Huilin?
"Brother Liang, it's not just you." Chen Zhuo chimed in from the side, "This is the first time I've heard of this too. When I asked him the other day where he got the money to acquire Company, he just said he made a profit from doing some business. If it weren't for coming here today, I wouldn't have known that this 'bit' of profit was over 300 million."
"Alright, it's not that I didn't want to tell you." Chen Ang placed his glass on the table, "Things have been busy lately, the money just landed, and the Company was only just set up. This drink today is an official announcement: I've made my comeback."
The four of them fell silent.
Then Yu Liang was the first to laugh. He stood up, smiling, and gave Chen Ang a solid thump on the shoulder.
This gesture was proof enough of the bond between brothers, requiring no further words.
After the meal, Xiaomi played with blocks on the coffee table, while Chen Zhuo and Zhong Yuanxin spread out the materials brought back from Company on the dining table.
The two spoke in very low voices. Chen Zhuo pointed to a page of accounts for Zhong Yuanxin to see; she frowned, flipped through two pages, and quickly entered a work mode.
Chen Ang and Yu Liang stood on the balcony.
The night breeze was chilly. Yu Liang left the balcony door ajar and handed a cigarette to Chen Ang.
The two stood side by side for a moment.
"The matter you mentioned to me during the day has some leads; the Economic Investigation Department has finished their background check." Yu Liang spoke first, "This Hongsheng Company, it hangs a sign for financial consulting, but actually deals in usury."
"They've lent out over ten million in the past two years, with annual interest rates all above 36%. They've used force during collections, and while the police were called twice, both cases were settled privately, and no one pursued them further."
"Is the amount enough for criminal charges?" Chen Ang flicked off the cigarette ash.
"Enough. The charge is illegal business operations."
Yu Liang stubbed out his cigarette on the railing and looked up at him, "The Economic Investigation Department has already prepared the materials. They checked his bank statements for the past two years, and besides the loans, there are a few transaction records that match the corporate accounts of Yuandong Decoration."
Chen Ang's eyes lit up. He blew out a puff of blue smoke and asked, "How large is the amount, and are the transactions frequent?"
Yu Liang turned and leaned against the railing, taking a drag of his cigarette, "You certainly know how to grasp the key points. Rest assured, it's enough for detention and summons."
"Then what if Tu Yuandong is also suspected of bribing witnesses and interfering with judicial fairness?"
Chen Ang leaned against the railing as well and asked, turning his head.
He thought of the case that was giving Shen Pianran a headache; he was certain that Tu Yuandong was definitely pulling strings behind the scenes.
"If that's also the case, then I can take compulsory measures against him." Yu Liang turned back, meeting Chen Ang's eyes, "Including electronic evidence collection."
Chen Ang smiled upon hearing this, "That way, we won't need to sue Wen Huilin for bigamy, nor will we need to alert the enemy."
As he spoke, he took out his phone and dialed Shen Pianran's number. It connected after a few seconds, and Shen Pianran's slightly weary voice came through the receiver: "My boss, it's after work hours, mind the time."
"There's serious business. The case you're working on might involve Tu Yuandong. You can prepare the materials tomorrow; someone will come to check some things."
"Hmm..." Shen Pianran was a bit surprised. She immediately remembered Chen Ang saying that Tu Yuandong had hired someone to follow him, and she instantly realized that she might have been implicated.
"Everything can be linked to Tu Yuandong; I strongly request a raise." Shen Pianran complained.
Chen Ang did not underestimate her intelligence and chuckled, "No problem. Not only a raise, but I'll also reduce your workload. You don't need to study the contract between Yuandong Decoration and Company anymore; I have other arrangements on my end."
"Boss, you've finally acted like a capitalist with a conscience for once." A cheerful voice came from Shen Pianran's side.
"Prepare the materials I just mentioned. Someone from the Municipal Economic Investigation Department will come to find you for a routine inquiry." When Chen Ang said this, he looked at Yu Liang and only spoke after receiving a nod from him.
"Alright, I'll have it organized by tomorrow morning." Shen Pianran didn't say anything more; hearing that the Economic Investigation Department was involved, she guessed that Chen Ang must have borrowed Yu Liang's influence.
After hanging up, Chen Ang told Yu Liang that the people who had followed him were targeting both him and Shen Pianran at the time.
"Arrest them, interrogate them." Yu Liang pondered for a moment and tapped on the aluminum alloy railing, "The lackeys from Nickname's Company—their identity information has already been sorted out. How far do you need this to go?"
"Just find out about his dealings with Tu Yuandong." Chen Ang exhaled a puff of smoke, watching it be blown away by the night breeze.
"If that's the case, we can have the materials in a day or two. As long as the materials are in, we can retrieve all the recent transaction records of associated accounts and communication logs."
After saying this, Yu Liang turned his head to look inside the balcony glass door.
Zhong Yuanxin and Chen Zhuo were still discussing the account books, while Xiaomi was lying on the coffee table, having drawn several crooked little cats.
Chen Ang followed his gaze and took a look, then withdrew his eyes and stubbed out his cigarette into the ashtray by the railing.
"Once I have the records in hand, I will file a lawsuit for fraudulent upbringing, putting an end to these muddled seven years." Chen Ang gazed at the city lights and said softly.
"Are you that certain they are colluding?" Yu Liang turned around, leaning against the railing, and asked.
Chen Ang smiled bitterly, "You tell me, if a six-year-old child already knows who his real father is, do you believe there's no collusion?"
"Then how are you so sure that there must be chat records between them?"
"There definitely are. Wen Huilin actually doesn't have much of an opinion of her own and is just a bit shrewd. According to information from Tu Yuandong's ex-wife, they started messing around two years ago."
"I saw with my own eyes Wen Huilin sneaking around in the kitchen sending messages. According to the habits of cheating women, when there's any sign of trouble, their first thought is to find their adulterer to make decisions."
After finishing, Chen Ang took out another cigarette and lit it.
Through the hazy smoke, Yu Liang saw that his eyes were very sharp, "Alright, whether there are or not, once the cybersecurity team retrieves them, I'll have someone make a copy."
Chen Ang nodded and then fell silent.
Yu Liang didn't say anything more either. The brothers just stood there silently, letting the night breeze blow, watching the city lights.
In the living room, Chen Zhuo and Zhong Yuanxin had stopped their work.
When Chen Ang went inside, Zhong Yuanxin told him the specific situation.
For this contract with Yuandong Decoration, the price reduction is only 4-5 percentage points. Long-term agreements in the industry naturally have discounts, so it's basically impossible to see anything fishy during an audit.
Moreover, the other party's purchase volume is not large, and the single transaction amount is not eye-catching, so it won't trigger any risk control warnings.
Most importantly, the agreement was signed through standard procedures, with all invoices, contracts, and bank records complete, so the books are completely compliant.
Therefore, it's not something for which we can get concrete evidence immediately.
Chen Ang didn't feel surprised. This move wouldn't be played out quickly; they still had time to investigate.
The disruption of raw material supply would only begin after Tu Yuandong signed the contract and officially started construction.
