Chapter 36 Chain of Evidence, Chen Zhuo Returns Home
At the same time, Shen Pianran was examining the various pieces of evidence that Chen Ang had laid out, one by one.
"Paternity test reports need to be voluntary or court-approved; this one doesn't count. However, it can serve as one of the bases for the lawsuit. Once the case is filed, the court will require a judicial re-evaluation."
"Intimate photos of the child and the biological father, including records of the biological father picking him up from school, are useful."
"Anything else?" She looked up at Chen Ang.
Chen Ang opened his phone and displayed a screenshot. "A bed photo that I'm about to get my hands on."
Shen Pianran took a glance, finding it somewhat offensive to her eyes, and turned away. "You're sure it's not a composite, right?"
Chen Ang shook his head to indicate it was genuine.
Shen Pianran's gaze shifted between each piece of evidence, her pen scribbling rapidly in her notebook.
After finishing, she looked up at Chen Ang. "This is already enough to file a lawsuit. Of course, if we can get more evidence, our chances of winning will be higher."
Chen Ang nodded. "Once I file the case, Yu Liang will help me pull their chat logs; he has them going back three years."
Shen Pianran was somewhat surprised and gave Chen Ang a meaningful look. "You aren't thinking of adding a charge of bigamy, are you? That's much harder to fight than fraudulent maintenance."
After thinking for a moment, she couldn't help but offer a reminder: "That requires a criminal case filing; a civil case filing won't be able to pull those records..."
Chen Ang had previously used Yu Liang to keep her in check, and she knew the two were definitely tight, but she hadn't expected the relationship to be this deep. For Chen Ang's sake, Yu Liang was actually willing to risk violating regulations.
"He has his ways. Besides, filing for bigamy is just a pretext; getting the chat logs is the real goal. Since I'm prepared to go down this path, I must have one hundred percent certainty." Chen Ang explained.
"That's for the best." Shen Pianran breathed a sigh of relief. A lawyer must not have a stain on their record.
Putting the documents away one by one, she looked up at Chen Ang. "So, tell me your ultimate plan."
Chen Ang didn't hesitate at all, saying every word clearly: "Take back everything I gave. Every expense for that mother and son must be included in the list of costs for fraudulent maintenance."
"Hmm, that's very reasonable." Shen Pianran nodded. "Next, you need to provide a list of all expenses. We'll need to use these materials to calculate a specific amount for the civil compensation claim."
"I will organize it." Chen Ang said slowly. "You can also help me find a litigation lawyer; I need to be clear about what can be included, after all, your time is very valuable."
Shen Pianran agreed deeply and immediately accepted. This would undoubtedly mean she wouldn't be bothered by Chen Ang anymore, which was exactly what she wanted.
"By the way, there's something you must know." Chen Ang suddenly spoke up. "Wen Huilin found my patek philippe at home, and she's probably using my bank card to check the transaction history now."
Shen Pianran realized. "Last night, in the middle of the night, you had me send you the purchase receipt; so you were fishing..."
Chen Ang smiled and said, "I guessed she would likely find a lawyer to investigate me, so I laid out some bait to see how far she had gotten."
"That's your style, but..." Shen Pianran's tone changed. "You must guard against her transferring assets. Since she's investigating you, she's definitely going to leave herself an escape route."
Chen Ang once again marveled at her sharp intuition and nodded. "What you said makes a lot of sense, I'll keep an eye on it."
Shen Pianran nodded slightly, tidied up the documents she had collected, and then opened another file: "Let's talk about some serious business. The second batch of bitcoin will arrive at ten o'clock tomorrow morning, 33 million USD. Once this money is in hand, your cash flow will be more abundant. Any ideas?"
"I plan to buy office buildings, apartments, and other real estate to start a rental Company. Rather than letting the money sit in the account, it's better to turn it into bricks and mortar; that feels more secure." Chen Ang explained his plan.
"That works." Shen Pianran made a note in her memo. "For the legal entity, use the name of Hengxing Investment, but you'll need to find someone for operations. I'm very busy. I'll structure the equity so that control remains in your hands."
"Don't worry, I won't work you like a beast of burden. I plan to find Tan Xiaolei." Chen Ang smiled and added, "When the money comes, use the rental Company's name to buy a Land Rover, a Range Rover or a Defender is fine, price around one million."
Shen Pianran made a record of each point, closed her notebook, and then complained, "As expected, men only care about their brothers. I work like a beast of burden for you, yet I don't see you rewarding me."
Chen Ang was stunned, then laughed out loud. "My brother once said that even if he had to sell his ass, he'd make sure I drove a Land Rover. Of course, I can't treat him badly."
Shen Pianran's fair cheeks flushed slightly, and she rolled her eyes at him. Her lips curled slightly, and the hint of a smile she couldn't hide was caught red-handed by Chen Ang.
Chen Ang had a smile on his lips but didn't speak; the arc of his smile was just a bit wider than before.
Both of them fell silent. A moment later, Chen Ang asked, "How are things at the Company?"
"Your brother is working harder than you." Shen Pianran put down her pen and looked at Chen Ang with a complaining expression. "He's been at the headquarters these past few days, following Zhou Yuda to familiarize himself with financial statements and the supplier list. He's learning very seriously. Zhou Yuda says he doesn't talk much, but he calculates accounts clearly."
Chen Ang knew she meant he was exploiting her, so he nodded and smiled. "Only those who work hard can succeed. Lawyer Shen, if you don't work hard, how can you climb to the peak of your career?"
Shen Pianran suddenly had the urge to cut ties with him. She even wanted to open up Chen Ang's head to see how he could be so laid-back while simultaneously feeding others chicken soup for the soul.
But, unfortunately, this man was her boss, and he paid well—so well that one couldn't refuse.
"Chen Zhuo is at the Company headquarters every day now?" Chen Ang put away his playful mood.
"He's planning to go back to Jiangning; he said there's something at home. But Zhou Yuda wants to let go as soon as possible." Shen Pianran added.
Chen Ang frowned. He had just spoken to his family on the phone not long ago, and his parents were fine.
He immediately guessed that it was likely Chen Zhuo's wife, Li Xue, acting up again. He closed his eyes for a moment, his thumb subconsciously pinching his index finger.
Now Chen Zhuo was the legal representative of Hengxing Investment and a supervisor for the Company, with a starting annual salary of one million.
He had specifically told Chen Zhuo not to say too much, so Li Xue must still think Chen Zhuo was the same loser she remembered.
"Let him go back. You communicate with Zhou Yuda." Chen Ang made a decision quickly.
He knew that in some matters, outsiders were not in a good position to intervene.
Shen Pianran felt helpless, indicating that he was the boss and what he said went.
Just as he stepped outside, Chen Ang received a call from his hometown. Listening to his mother's sighs, his eyebrows, which had previously relaxed, knitted together again.
He stood in front of the X5, hesitated for a moment, and sent a message to Chen Zhuo: Remember to call me if anything happens.
At Yuda Supply Chain, Chen Zhuo, who had just come out of the office building, had a cold expression, his fists clenched tight, his knuckles cracking.
Seeing the message from Chen Ang, the gloom between his brows eased quite a bit.
He hadn't expected to face a divorce crisis at this time.
The matter of the branch Company firing him had eventually been discovered by Li Xue. She had gone to the old house early in the morning, found his mother to complain, and directly proposed a divorce.
He had a pent-up frustration in his heart. Besides the humiliation he suffered at the branch Company, it was mostly the backstabbing from within his family.
At this moment, he deeply felt that once a man faced a desperate situation, the first knife stabbed into him was often by the person closest to him.
A married couple are like birds in the same forest; when disaster strikes, each flies their own way.
From dating to marriage, eight whole years, she hadn't left a shred of affection and had sentenced him to death directly.
If she wants a divorce, then let's divorce. If anyone refuses, their whole damn family can die...
Chen Zhuo left the Company and immediately took a taxi to the high-speed railway station without a moment's delay.
