Chapter 24 News about Jiang Shan

For the entire day, Wen Huilin didn't cause any trouble. She even voluntarily made lunch, and by the afternoon, she actually said she would go pick up the kids.

Chen Ang saw through her behavior. Whether she was planning something big or trying to lull him into a false sense of security, Chen Ang didn't pay much mind to it.

He thought this was a good thing; it was the perfect time to vent some frustration while she was holding back.

In the afternoon, he received a call from Chen Zhuo saying that the acquisition of the Company was complete and the handover had already taken place.

Next, Chen Zhuo would stay at the headquarters for a few days to get familiar with the Company's situation and understand its finances.

Tan Xiaolei had slept all day and called Chen Ang to suggest having dinner together.

Chen Ang said a few words to Wen Huilin and then went out.

After hearing the door close, Wen Huilin immediately made a call, asking Tu Yuandong to help her pick up the kids while she secretly followed Chen Ang.

She followed Chen Ang all the way to Tianrui Mall, only to see Chen Ang, Yu Liang, and Tan Xiaolei enjoying a lively hot pot meal, the atmosphere incredibly cheerful.

As for Wen Huilin, she was stuck outside in the cold wind, staring through the glass window, watching the three of them eat until they were sweating profusely.

After shivering for nearly an hour without catching Chen Ang in any compromising situation, she stomped her foot and had no choice but to head home.

Unexpectedly, upon returning home, she discovered she had caught a cold, which left her absolutely fuming.

Inside the hot pot restaurant, Yu Liang leaned over to Chen Ang and whispered, "Wen Huilin was outside just now, staring at you the whole time. I think she's trying to find some dirt on you. She must be getting desperate because you won't divorce her."

Having worked his way up steadily from the grassroots level, Yu Liang was naturally more vigilant than others. How could Wen Huilin's amateurish stalking and spying possibly escape Yu Liang's eyes?

Chen Ang slurped up a large piece of tripe and mumbled, "I knew she was planning something, but I didn't expect she was trying to get evidence of me making a mistake."

Seeing that Chen Ang's expression was very relaxed, Yu Liang knew he had a countermeasure, so he didn't pay it any more attention.

Tan Xiaolei was also there. Although the three of them had grown up together since they were kids, Chen Ang's business could only be told by him; it wouldn't do for others to say it.

Yu Liang naturally understood this.

Tan Xiaolei was naturally thick-skinned and didn't notice that his two good brothers were keeping secrets from him; he just kept urging them to drink.

The three of them ate hot pot for two hours. Seeing that it was getting late, Yu Liang went home first.

Chen Ang asked Tan Xiaolei, "Do you have any thoughts about coming to Bin City?"

Tan Xiaolei wiped the grease from his mouth with a tissue and glanced at him, saying, "Brother, are you planning to take me out driving a Range Rover?"

Chen Ang nodded, "As long as you want to."

"I'll go back first and think about it. I'll call you when I've made a decision." Tan Xiaolei could see that Chen Ang was serious, but he didn't agree immediately.

Chen Ang didn't mind; he had plenty of time.

Tan Xiaolei's family ran a small grocery store in the early years and later opened a medium-sized supermarket, so they were considered a wealthy family in Jiangning County.

Whenever there was something good to eat when they were kids, Chen Ang and Yu Liang always got a share.

Later, when Chen Ang's family went bankrupt and he was short on money, he borrowed thousands or tens of thousands many times. Tan Xiaolei always provided it and never once asked Chen Ang for repayment.

Therefore, now that he was successful, Chen Ang naturally wouldn't forget the person who had stuck by him through his hard times.

He would probably have Chen Zhuo manage his investments in his hometown in the future. He didn't care about making money; he just wanted an official background to protect his family so they could live peacefully in their hometown.

As for the rest of his funds, Chen Ang had no intention of starting a business. With two billion, his whole family couldn't spend it all in several lifetimes, so why take the risk?

Therefore, he planned to spend money on office buildings and mid-to-high-end apartments to become a lazy landlord. Besides, in Bin City, Yu Liang could at least look out for him a little bit.

These fixed assets would be his guarantee for the future, and he needed someone he could trust to manage them. Tan Xiaolei was the most suitable candidate.

The brothers came out of the hot pot restaurant, and Tan Xiaolei asked if they wanted to do anything else. Chen Ang refused directly.

He wasn't suffering from some restless disease that made him uncomfortable if he didn't do something every day.

Seeing that he wasn't very interested, Tan Xiaolei went back to the hotel on his own.

Chen Ang checked the time; it was only nine o'clock. Feeling a bit bloated from the meal, he decided to just stroll around the area.

He hadn't walked more than a few steps when Jiang Shan called. Chen Ang didn't hesitate; he called a designated driver and went straight to Jiang Shan's studio.

As it happened, Jiang Shan had also just returned from outside.

He led him in, enthusiastically served tea, and then took out a file folder and handed it over. "Brother Chen, this contains some information I've gathered over the past two days."

Jiang Shan was very happy to provide services for Chen Ang because Chen Ang was generous with money.

Chen Ang opened the file folder. The first thing inside was Wen Huilin's property list—bank account balances, fixed deposits, and so on—all listed clearly, item by item.

There were three bank cards, and the total, including current and fixed deposits, was just over 670,000.

One of the cards had a fixed deposit of 400,000, which was most likely the bride price money.

Aside from the 100,000 card she had given him before, she didn't have much money left.

Chen Ang knew clearly that the money she had accumulated was either spent extravagantly or swindled away by her parasitic family members.

He folded the list and put it into the inside pocket of his jacket, then started looking through the photos. There were plenty of intimate photos, but unfortunately, no bed photos.

The rest of the documents concerned some matters at Yuandong Decoration that weren't exactly confidential, but they wouldn't have been easy to obtain without diligent investigation.

Chen Ang was very satisfied with the information. As he packed it away and prepared to leave, Jiang Shan spoke up, "Mr. Chen, I've found out something about Tu Yuandong's ex-wife."

Upon hearing this, Chen Ang felt a bit curious. He sat back down and signaled for Jiang Shan to continue.

Jiang Shan didn't beat around the bush and said directly, "I know you're in urgent need of their bed photos, but Tu Yuandong has been busy with the Road and Bridge Bureau contract lately. They haven't met much, and even when they do, it's always quick."

"Yesterday, you asked me to dig deeper, and I found out the reason for Tu Yuandong's divorce. He got divorced because he cheated, and the person he cheated with was Wen Huilin."

Although Chen Ang didn't know the inside story of Tu Yuandong's divorce, he didn't find it strange.

He just felt it was a bit strange that Wen Huilin, having been caught as the 'other woman', didn't show any guilt in front of him at all.

This just went to show how blind and foolish he had been all these years.

Jiang Shan continued, "Tu Yuandong's ex-wife also hired someone in our line of work to tail them at the time. I accidentally found out that she had managed to take bed photos of the two of them. I happen to know that person in the industry."

Chen Ang suddenly understood and frowned, asking, "You mean you want me to pay that person to buy the photos?"

A look of embarrassment appeared on Jiang Shan's face as he nodded.

After thinking about it, Chen Ang said, "No problem. Please help me negotiate it. If the price is reasonable, I'll take them."

"No problem, I certainly won't let you spend money unnecessarily," Jiang Shan promised, patting his chest.

Afterward, he handed over a slip of paper.

Chen Ang took it and looked. On the paper was written the name Yu Fei and a phone number. He looked up at Jiang Shan.

Jiang Shan said slowly, "This is Tu Yuandong's ex-wife. My colleague said she has evidence that Yuandong Decoration is evading taxes."

Chen Ang's eyes lit up. "Alright, I understand. I trust your work."

Jiang Shan smiled upon hearing this. "Just solving problems for the boss; I'm being paid for it."

Chen Ang nodded. He felt that this person was reliable; he knew what Chen Ang wanted and wouldn't talk too much.

He stood up immediately. As he was about to leave, he glanced at Jiang Shan and said calmly, "Boss Jiang, you haven't kept a backup of my information here, have you?"

Jiang Shan felt a chill down his spine under Chen Ang's gaze. Knowing this was a warning, he waved his hands repeatedly. "Brother Chen, rest assured, I've always followed the rules."

Chen Ang nodded and walked out. It was good to be efficient, but he certainly wouldn't tolerate anyone crossing the line.

Otherwise, others would think he was weak and easy to bully, and it would prevent his own affairs from being exploited by those with ulterior motives in the future.

He had to be on guard; after all, his money would eventually be enough to make people want to kill for it.
