Chapter 50 Building the Company Framework
Taking another deep breath, Zhong Yuanxin suppressed all her shock, her face returning to a professional calm.
Only when she occasionally looked at Chen Ang did her gaze involuntarily carry an extra layer of weight.
"Let's begin," Shen Pianran said, while handing over the finance-related documents to Zhong Yuanxin.
"This covers the account structure of Hengxing Investment, the foreign exchange settlement channel for New Hengtai in Hong Kong, the compliance framework for round-trip investment, the financial status of Yuda Supply Chain, and the budget for the leasing Company currently in preparation."
Zhong Yuanxin listened and took notes, occasionally asking a question, each one hitting the nail on the head.
Although she hadn't worked in six years, her professional foundation remained, and her thinking was still very clear.
At this moment, Chen Ang also felt a sense of admiration; she truly was the top student who had gone straight into a combined master's and doctoral program after winning scholarships for four consecutive years.
After the handover was completed, the three of them moved to the meeting area in Shen Pianran's office, where several organizational charts were already posted on the whiteboard.
Subsequently, Zhong Yuanxin stood up and walked to the whiteboard, picked up a marker, and drew three horizontal lines.
"First, Yuda Supply Chain. Second, the rental Company. Third, the Jiangning cultural tourism project."
She turned around. "All three sectors need independent management teams. As for Yuda, we can maintain the status quo for now and let Chen Zhuo continue to transition in the capacity of a supervisor."
"The leasing Company needs to be set up immediately after Tan Xiaolei is in place." She paused, looking at Chen Ang, "As for the Jiangning side, should we start moving on it?"
"We can. But we must first assemble a project team; we cannot rely on just one person to handle the coordination. Lawyer Shen cannot do everything alone," Chen Ang nodded in response.
"That is exactly what I meant." Zhong Yuanxin wrote a date on the whiteboard. "In these two weeks, we will first integrate the financial system of Yuda, then register the leasing Company and find office space."
"For the Jiangning cultural tourism project, I will go there in person to refine the investment framework. Once they give us a definitive word, we will recruit people to form the project team."
With a few sentences, she finalized three matters, much like Shen Pianran.
Chen Ang reflected that excellent women shine at any time, whereas gold-diggers and toxic women are idiots everywhere.
After the meeting ended, Shen Pianran put away the whiteboard marker and sat back at her desk to organize the contracts.
Just as Chen Ang stood up to leave, he was pulled aside by Zhong Yuanxin.
"Chen Ang. You know that Director Xu Qingwan is back, right?"
Chen Ang pulled out a cigarette, remembered he was in a law firm, and put it back. "I know."
"I messaged her last night. Should we organize a get-together?" Zhong Yuanxin's voice lowered, her gaze filled with scrutiny. "Is the reason you invested in the Jiangning cultural tourism project because of her?"
"No, it's pure coincidence." Chen Ang replied without hesitation.
Zhong Yuanxin looked at him with disbelief.
"When I planned to invest, I didn't even know about this project." Meeting her gaze, even though it was truly a coincidence, he felt inexplicably guilty.
Zhong Yuanxin rolled her eyes in confusion. "Why are you both the same? She gave me the same answer last night."
Chen Ang did not speak.
"What exactly happened seven years ago?" Zhong Yuanxin asked again.
Chen Ang's gaze began to drift, filled with various emotions—lingering affection, sorrow, and even hatred.
He shook his head, gathering all his thoughts.
Zhong Yuanxin looked at him for a moment, did not pursue the question further, and turned to tidy up the documents.
Before leaving, she said one last thing: "I'm going to Jiangning to see her first. Regardless of what you two have planned, the cultural tourism project needs to be coordinated."
Chen Ang nodded, hesitated for a moment, and said: "Please don't tell her about my situation, okay?"
Zhong Yuanxin was stunned upon hearing this, understanding what Chen Ang meant. She did not dwell on it and replied, "I will keep it confidential."
Chen Ang let out a heavy sigh and walked out of the office.
He knew that when Zhong Yuanxin proposed going there during the meeting, it was certainly not just for official business.
He was very grateful for her actions, but matters entangled with past grievances could not be resolved with just a few words.
Everything is fate.
After leaving the Financial Center, Chen Ang walked to the next street.
Considering that Hengxing Investment needed a fixed office location and the leasing Company also needed a venue,
at the meeting, both Shen Pianran and Zhong Yuanxin suggested buying a floor of an office building as an office space.
But Chen Ang did not think so.
He looked up at the two office buildings across the street that had just completed their handover—one medium-sized standard building and two small detached buildings, all of which were Grade A office buildings.
Shen Pianran had pointed them out to him in the office.
When he came out, he also looked up information online and could say that the configuration and location were above average.
He walked around the three buildings at a leisurely pace and picked up a brochure when passing the investment promotion office.
Finding a quiet bench, he leaned back against the backrest and flipped through it.
The average price of Grade A office buildings in Bin City was between 12,000 and 15,000, and the vacancy rate had been falling over the past two years.
The two small detached buildings added up to less than 20,000 square meters, with a total price of just over 140 million. He could use two floors himself and rent out the rest; at the current rental yield, it would take about twenty years to break even.
The medium-sized standard building was more expensive, at 20,000 square meters with an average price of 13,000, totaling 260 million. However, the location here was better, right across from the Financial Center, so the rental and sales value would certainly be higher.
350 million was of course not enough to buy all three, but the third batch of bitcoin would arrive soon, so he could start negotiations.
Dealing with business involving hundreds of millions was not like buying vegetables; it couldn't be settled in one go.
He sat in the car for a while and then sent a message to Shen Pianran: "Medium-sized building 260 million, two small detached buildings 140 million, totaling around 400 million. How much can we negotiate it down to?"
Shen Pianran replied quickly: "Cutting off ten million or so shouldn't be a problem."
Afterward, she realized what he meant and immediately sent another message: "My boss, are you trying to scare me or surprise me?"
In her imagination, the leasing Company Chen Ang mentioned was located in the University Town, aimed at housing rental operations for the student population.
After all, the market research report Chen Ang had produced earlier was about the University Town.
Who would have thought that Chen Ang would dare to get involved in such heavy commercial real estate assets.
"Start negotiating first. If you're worried, then help me keep an eye on the next batch of bitcoin." Chen Ang did not grasp the shock on the other end of the phone at all.
"Fine, you're the boss, you have the final say. By the way, someone named Jiang Shan came by earlier and delivered the bed photos of your ex-wife. Should we be honest with Sister Xin about this? After all, the financial accounts need her signature."
After reading the message, Chen Ang thought for a moment and replied: "No need to tell her. Process the payment under the name of information consulting fees."
Shen Pianran replied instantly: "Do you want to create a compliant information consulting agreement? If not, there will be loopholes in taxation."
"No need, just like that. I'll be back to sign." When Chen Ang replied, he was thinking of Wen Huilin's best friend, Jian Ting.
He put away his phone, got up, and turned into a cross street. After walking for more than ten minutes, he slowed his pace when passing a high-end residential area to look at the surrounding amenities.
There was a small square at the entrance of the residential area, and several osmanthus trees were planted in the flower bed, their leaves still lush and green.
A little girl wearing a pink down jacket was squatting by the flower bed, using chalk to draw on the ground.
It was none other than the little porcelain doll who had bumped into his leg at the Financial Center square last time.
Chen Ang smiled, came up to her, and squatted down. "Little one, do you remember uncle?"
The porcelain doll looked up, her big eyes blinking twice, her exquisite features revealing a thin layer of light under the pale daylight.
In a daze, Chen Ang actually felt that a shadow of Xu Qingwan appeared on her small face.
