Chapter 113: Jian Ting's Inner Thoughts

"You play the whore while setting up a memorial arch for chastity, calculating against others while acting innocent, and asking for my help while claiming you never begged me."

Jian Ting stood up and cursed right in her face.

"Clean up your mouth." Wen Huilin retorted, furious from shame.

"I refuse," Jian Ting said, stepping forward. "I'm going to make things clear today, Wen Huilin. Do you know what I find most annoying about you?"

Wen Huilin froze, not replying.

"I hate how you pretend." Jian Ting smiled viciously. "From college until now, you've always been acting. Acting innocent, acting noble, acting like you're above everything. In reality, you're more calculating and greedy than anyone else."

"What nonsense are you spouting?" Panic flashed in Wen Huilin's eyes.

"Did I say something wrong? How did you marry Chen Ang back then? He had just broken up with Director Xu Qingwan, and you picked the perfect time. Crawling into bed when he was drunk, looking for a sucker to take the blame—I'm embarrassed for you with those tactics."

Wen Huilin's face turned deathly pale. She stared at Jian Ting, her eyes filled with murderous intent.

"Why aren't you refuting me? Am I right?" Jian Ting pressed closer, looking down at her. "You still act like a wealthy lady in front of me, constantly talking about how Chen Ang gives you money, or how you manage the household."

"Ugh, you have no idea how disgusted I feel every time I hear it. What gives you the right? Because you found a sucker? Because you had another man's son and made an honest man raise him?"

"Shut up, Jian Ting! I treated you like a best friend, and this is how you slander me?" Wen Huilin was furious, her darkest secrets exposed to her face.

"Best friend?" Jian Ting laughed. "You used me as a tool to make yourself look better. When things were going well, you'd show off in front of me; when things went bad, you'd come to me for help. What am I? Your maid?"

Wen Huilin knew she couldn't stay; Jian Ting had gone crazy. She grabbed her bag and turned to leave. "You're in a bad mood today, I won't talk to you."

"Don't go," Jian Ting grabbed her wrist. "Didn't you want to investigate Chen Ang's money? I'll tell you."

Wen Huilin struggled but couldn't break free. However, upon hearing about Chen Ang's money, she stopped in her tracks.

"See? You're still just as hypocritical." Jian Ting released her hand, mocking her with disdain.

"If you're going to say it, say it. If not, forget it." Wen Huilin held back her anger, trying hard not to be swayed by Jian Ting's emotions.

"Heh, do you know how much money your sucker has?" Jian Ting turned back, sat back down on the sofa, and took a sip from her wine glass.

Wen Huilin took a deep breath, holding back her frustration as she watched Jian Ting.

She didn't ask, waiting for Jian Ting to speak on her own.

Jian Ting finished the red wine in her glass, set it down, and looked at Wen Huilin with a playful expression.

After a moment, she spoke. "Do you know how much the combined foreign exchange capital injections from Xinhengtai Capital into Hengxing Investment show up as in the tax system?"

"It's already exceeded 600 million RMB."

After saying this, she chuckled, her eyes fixed on Wen Huilin's face, anticipating the look of her breaking point.

"However, that's not all. Based on the frequency of the reports, your sucker likely has more funds on the way. It's highly probable that the amount is far beyond this figure."

Squinting her eyes, Jian Ting tilted her head back and said in a triumphant tone, "But, my dear sister, this money has absolutely nothing to do with you."

"It wasn't hidden by Chen Ang, nor was it transferred. It never belonged to you from the very beginning."

"New Hengtai is an offshore company, and the shareholder of Hengxing Investment is New Hengtai. All capital channels are registered, and it's impossible to trace it down to Chen Ang's personal name."

"Do you know what this means? It means even if you take it to court, even to the Supreme Court, you won't get a single cent."

"Six hundred million, maybe a billion, maybe even more, but none of it has anything to do with you."

Having said that, Jian Ting burst into laughter, rocking back and forth, laughing until tears were almost streaming down her face.

"That's impossible..." Wen Huilin's voice suddenly rose, the color draining from her face, her pupils contracting sharply.

Jian Ting's words were, without a doubt, the sky collapsing for her.

This meant that from the very beginning, her direction had been wrong. She had been working hard to grasp at an impossible reality.

And everyone else had been silently watching her make a fool of herself. She had lived like a clown.

Jian Ting leaned back on the sofa, a look of pure satisfaction on her face. "Were you counting on getting half of Chen Ang's assets, becoming a wealthy woman, and then kicking Tu Yuandong to the curb to live a good life?"

"You need to wake up. Chen Ang never intended for you to take a single cent from him from the start. Even if you knelt before him and begged, it wouldn't happen. If he could endure for seven years, he can ensure you never get back on your feet for the rest of your life."

"Hahaha..."

Jian Ting stifled her laughter, watching with unbridled pleasure as Wen Huilin's expression shifted rapidly.

She saw her complexion change colors, and saw the resentment and unwillingness in her eyes.

Listening to that grating laughter, Wen Huilin felt her temples throbbing violently, and a wave of heat rushing to her face.

Her breathing became rapid, her chest heaving, and it felt like something was buzzing inside her eardrums.

Six hundred million, perhaps even more.

It was so much more than the 400 million she had known about before, yet none of this money had anything to do with her.

In an instant, she felt the world spinning. She stumbled, reaching out to steady herself against the wine cabinet nearby.

"You're lying to me. You can't stand to see me doing well, because you're jealous, jealous to the point of madness."

She squeezed these words out through gritted teeth, staring straight at Jian Ting as if she were a traitor.

She didn't believe it was true.

She had been married to Chen Ang for seven years, cooked and cleaned for him, and bore him a son.

So what if the son wasn't his? She was still his wife in name, and she should have the right to a share of the marital assets.

Why could she see so much money but not get her hands on it?

Why could those other women stand by Chen Ang's side, while she, the rightful wife, was guarded against like a thief?

"I'm lying to you?" Jian Ting crossed her legs and gave a disdainful laugh.

There seemed to be some long-repressed emotion on her face, finally fully released. "Have you ever thought that Chen Ang never considered you his wife from the start? In his eyes, you were just a burden he had to endure until he couldn't stand it anymore, then discard. You thought you were calculating against him, but in reality, he was watching you act the whole time. He watched you act for seven whole years."

Wen Huilin stood frozen in place, her face deathly pale, her lips moving but making no sound.

Jian Ting enjoyed Wen Huilin's breakdown with immense pleasure.

But she hadn't stopped her tirade yet.

"Are you feeling like you're going crazy now? Sigh... what a pity..."

Letting out a long sigh, Jian Ting stood up, walked over to Wen Huilin, and continued. "Think about it carefully. What kind of life could you have had? Don't you understand Chen Ang's personality? If you hadn't plotted against him, he would never have treated you like this. If you had just stayed with him honestly, you would be among the elite now. Hundreds of millions in assets—and that's not even all of it. Just think about how much money that is."

"But you were greedy, blind, and couldn't recognize a treasure when you saw it. Hahaha..." She extended a finger and tapped Wen Huilin's shoulder. "Sister, one must be content and know one's place. Did you think you could squeeze money out of Chen Ang? Did you think you could walk away unscathed?"

Wen Huilin's shoulders were trembling, her mind was a blank slate, and she was completely powerless to respond to her provocation.

However, Jian Ting's tirade didn't end there.
