106: Going home
Just as Qin Gang headed to Korea for business, Qin Yang also returned home.
Not having seen each other for over a month, Qin Yang received imperial treatment from Deng Yue. Although the two of them spoke on the phone every day, as a young couple in the peak of their passion, how could they not miss each other after such a long separation?
Fortunately, Qin Yang's constitution had undergone a qualitative change. Otherwise, if it were an ordinary person, spending a whole day and night expressing their love for each other would require several days of recovery, if not a trip to the hospital.
During these two days of intimacy with Deng Yue, Qin Yang did nothing else but enjoy their world alone. Of course, during this time, with such a large-scale operation spread out, taking phone calls was unavoidable.
Early in the morning, Qin Yang was awakened by a phone call. He casually pressed the answer button and said with half-closed eyes, "Who is it?"
"Boss, it's Qin Gang. I've returned to the country. The matters over there have been handled. If you're interested, you can search today's news in Korea," Qin Gang said on the other end of the line.
"Alright, I understand. Get some good rest today and come see me tomorrow," Qin Yang replied.
Hanging up the phone, Qin Yang kissed Deng Yue, who was sleeping soundly beside him, and quietly got out of bed.
He opened a bottle of sweetened water, sat on a lounge chair in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, and began searching for what Qin Gang had mentioned.
Sure enough, the brutal madness of Qin Gang and the others had made the front-page headlines in Korea today.
"Who on earth was offended? Seven Stars Society annihilated in one night! Two hundred and seventy-three dead!"
This was the headline of the incident. Qin Yang clicked on it and browsed through, a satisfied expression appearing on his face.
Because the scene was too bloody, the news didn't include many photos. News reports are just various analyses before the police solve the case, but the death toll was truly too high, and Qin Gang had left a message in blood. Thus, it was being called Korea's number one bloodbath, and the emotions of various Koreans were starting to point directly at China.
Qin Yang didn't feel anything about this. Most Chinese people probably wouldn't like Korea. This nation, how should one put it—it's a narrow-minded, arrogant nation of thieves. They want to claim anything that has even a slight connection to them as their own, especially Chinese culture. Things inherited by China for thousands of years were stubbornly applied for intangible cultural heritage by them to make it their own. This shameless behavior was disgusting. And in sports, haha, a single Olympics made many countries almost withdraw in anger; they practically have shamelessness ingrained in their bones, yet Koreans are still very proud of it.
Therefore, regarding Korea's condemnation, Qin Yang just treated it like a dog barking. Who could compete with a dog? Of course, if a dog bites someone, then just beat it to death.
Back to the point, the annihilation of the Seven Stars Society counted as avenging Tie Niu and the others, and Qin Yang's mood improved significantly.
After drinking his sweetened water for a while, Deng Yue rolled over in bed, wanting to hug Qin Yang, but she didn't feel anyone there, so she opened her bleary eyes.
Seeing Qin Yang lying back in front of the window, she also got out of bed, sat in Qin Yang's lap, gave him a hard kiss, and then leaned against his chest, saying, "Hubby, why didn't you sleep a bit longer?"
"I was woken up by a phone call. Are you hungry? Do you want to get something to eat before sleeping more?" Qin Yang replied tenderly.
"That sounds good, I'll go cook some noodles for you. By the way, I bought you a few sets of clothes and shoes while shopping a few days ago, and a watch. Go try them on first," Deng Yue replied with a smile.
Qin Yang nodded.
Deng Yue got up to cook in the kitchen, and Qin Yang went to the walk-in closet. He saw the extra sets of clothes inside and spotted a watch box in the most prominent place.
Picking up the watch box, Qin Yang looked at it; there was a string of English names on it. Qin Yang took out his phone and searched, only then realizing it was a Patek Philippe. He then checked the model; it was an entry-level one, worth about 1.3 million.
Qin Yang wasn't unfamiliar with Patek Philippe. In Africa, he didn't even know how many Satans Armed Forces had seized, but they were all from dead people. Qin Yang found it unlucky and let his subordinates keep them. The impression this brand left on Qin Yang was simply that it was expensive.
Qin Yang hadn't expected Deng Yue to be so generous as to buy him such an expensive watch. Of course, 'expensive' was defined according to Deng Yue's economic conditions. Although Deng Yue had a secondary card given by Qin Yang, Qin Yang's phone had never received any transaction records. The money for the watch and clothes should be the final payment for the construction site advertisement that Wei Liang settled with her a few days ago.
Qin Yang clearly remembered Deng Yue's happy face when she reported the news to him after the final payment was settled that day. From one construction site advertisement, Deng Yue made a total net profit of over 2.6 million. Now, the items in front of Qin Yang probably cost half of that. At Qin Yang's current net worth, money was just a number; he valued the sentiment Deng Yue put into this even more.
Taking the watch out of the box, Qin Yang put it directly on his wrist, shook it left and right, and a heartfelt smile appeared on his face.
Walking to the kitchen, Qin Yang waved his wrist in front of Deng Yue and said, "How is it?"
Deng Yue said giggling, "So handsome!"
Both of them tacitly avoided mentioning the value of the watch.
Soon, breakfast was served—a steaming bowl of egg noodles each. Although the skill was a bit lacking compared to the Death Warrior chefs, the two of them ate very happily.
While eating, Qin Yang noticed that Deng Yue seemed to have something to say but was a bit hesitant, so he smiled and said, "Just say what's on your mind. Is there anything we can't talk about?"
"Hubby, are you free this afternoon? My cousin found a partner and is getting engaged. My uncle invited our family to dinner. My parents said they want to take this opportunity to introduce you to my relatives," Deng Yue replied with a slight blush.
"I thought it was something major. I'm free. I'll go with you this afternoon."
"Hehe, thanks, hubby. Actually, sigh, how should I put it... it's just my parents' vanity at work. My uncle's family is in business and they're well-off. You know, some rich people get a bit stuck-up after they get wealthy. My family's conditions are average, and my parents were always lectured when they met them before.
My cousin is also very excellent. She passed the civil service exam after graduating from university, and her partner is also very outstanding—he seems to be a deputy section-level leader in some government department.
Inviting us to dinner this time, my uncle's family's intention is obvious: it's to show off. My parents want you to go, not necessarily to crash the party, but to hold our heads high. Hehe, that's how it is," Deng Yue explained further.
"It's nothing, just human nature. I understand what you mean—you want me to be able to hold the floor without making your uncle's family look too bad, right?" Qin Yang replied.
"Mm-hmm," Deng Yue nodded.
Qin Yang then made an OK gesture.
When his future parents-in-law had a request, Qin Yang certainly wouldn't refuse.
