80: Conflict 2 (Bonus Chapter)
Seeing Qin Yang's calm expression, Qin Bo felt extremely annoyed, so he said with a forced smile, "That was fun, cursing me earlier, wasn't it? Once we get to the Police Station, I'll properly teach you what it means to respect your elders!"
Qin Yang glanced sideways at Qin Bo, a look of disdain appearing on his face. He could have resolved the situation without getting into the car, but he chose to board it specifically to catch the other party's weakness and strike them down into the abyss in one blow. Do not speak to Qin Yang about returning evil with kindness; that was never his nature. Since they were playing, Qin Yang would destroy the other party completely in one go to eliminate any future trouble.
Qin Yang then ignored Qin Bo and closed his eyes, mentally contacting Liu Er, who was monitoring Wu Bin.
"Liu Er, is Wu Bin with you?" Qin Yang asked directly.
"Boss, he is." Liu Er replied.
"Alright, tell him I'm giving him a chance to prove himself. I have a matter here that requires his brother-in-law's intervention. Ask him if he's willing to do it. If he is, tell him I was taken away without cause by Qin Bo, the Deputy Chief of Patrol Officers in Kangwang Township. Tell him to notify his brother-in-law, and his brother-in-law will naturally know what to do!" Qin Yang said.
"Understood, Boss. I'll tell him right now."
After severing the connection, Qin Yang began to rest with his eyes closed. Seeing Qin Yang's indifferent attitude, Qin Bo wanted nothing more than to beat him up on the spot, but seeing the several cars following the police vehicle, he restrained himself. Their vehicle was a police van with transparent windows all around; if he took action now and someone recorded it, it would be difficult to explain.
Qin Bo then threatened Qin Yang again, "Heh, just wait. Let's see if you're still this arrogant once you get to the Police Station!"
Meanwhile, after receiving Qin Yang's instructions, Liu Er arrived at Wu Bin's office.
Seeing Liu Er enter, Wu Bin quickly stood up and smiled, "Brother Er, do you have any instructions for me?"
Liu Er looked at Wu Bin and said, "Our boss is very satisfied with what you've done during this time, so he wants to give you another chance to perform. Are you willing to take it?"
Upon hearing this, Wu Bin's thoughts raced, and he immediately replied, "Of course I'm willing. Whatever the boss orders, I will do it without question."
Ever since witnessing Qin Yang's influence, Wu Bin had been completely convinced. He had asked his brother-in-law afterwards who exactly Qin Yang had called that day. His brother-in-law had only mentioned a surname, and Wu Bin had guessed who it was. Although his brother-in-law was only one major rank below Geng Jun, it was no exaggeration to say that the person on the other end could decide his brother-in-law's political career with a single word.
After finding out about Qin Yang's background, Wu Bin became very obedient. He was no longer forced to complete tasks assigned by Qin Yang but did so willingly, all in the hope of getting closer to Qin Yang and finding a solid backer for himself.
As the middle-aged man had said, Wu Bin surviving this ordeal might actually turn out to be a good thing!
Therefore, Wu Bin could not refuse anything Qin Yang ordered. Even if it were a crime, for the sake of future benefits, Wu Bin would do it ninety percent of the time!
Liu Er was very satisfied with Wu Bin's attitude and immediately relayed Qin Yang's words to him.
Hearing that the rural Police Station had taken Qin Yang away, Wu Bin broke out in a cold sweat. He knew that Qin Yang's background was unfathomable, and if the people below acted recklessly, it might implicate his current biggest backer: his brother-in-law.
Consequently, Wu Bin immediately called his brother-in-law.
Wu Bin's brother-in-law was named Lian Yukai. When he learned that a massive crocodile on his turf was being harassed by his own subordinates, he let out a string of profanities. Immediately, Lian Yukai cursed and hurriedly called the Kangwang Township Police Station.
Lian Yukai did not indulge the Chief of Patrol Officers of Kangwang Township who answered the phone; he lashed out with a severe reprimand. The Chief of Patrol Officers of Kangwang Township was confused and bewildered by the scolding but dared not interrupt. It was not until Lian Yukai had vented a little that the Chief of Patrol Officers of Kangwang Township realized what had happened.
Upon learning that his subordinate, Qin Bo, had offended someone whom even Lian Yukai had to respect, cold sweat immediately broke out on the Chief of Patrol Officers' forehead.
"Alright, hurry up and protect him for me. Do not let any mistakes happen to him. I'm coming over right now." After saying this, Lian Yukai hung up the phone.
After hearing the dial tone, the Chief of Patrol Officers immediately left his office and started shouting Qin Bo's name in the hallway.
When he learned that Qin Bo had not returned yet, he drove straight toward Qin Village.
It was no wonder the Chief of Patrol Officers was so anxious; he knew the working style of grassroots Police Officers better than anyone—they often resorted to "great memory recovery techniques." If they really laid a hand on Qin Yang, the trouble would be massive.
Finally, his efforts paid off; the Chief of Patrol Officers encountered the police vehicle on the road and immediately flagged it down.
"Chief Guo, why are you here?" Qin Bo and his group were all very surprised to see the Chief of Patrol Officers.
"Where is the person you took away?" the Chief of Patrol Officers asked with a grim expression.
"Are you talking about Qin Yang?" Qin Bo asked, surprised.
"Didn't you just take someone away? I'm looking for him!"
"Oh, then you must mean Qin Yang. He's right in the car. What's the matter, Chief? This guy offended me, and I intend to take him back to educate him," Qin Bo said vaguely.
Slap! Just as Qin Bo finished speaking, a palm struck him across the face.
"Nonsense! Is that something a Police Officer of the people should say? What do you take the common people for? A tool to vent your anger on?" That slap was delivered by the Chief of Patrol Officers, who couldn't hold back. The guy in front of him had almost ruined him, and the Chief of Patrol Officers wasn't without a temper.
"No, Chief, have you lost your mind? Why did you hit me?" Qin Bo was stunned by the blow, then clutched his burning face and said angrily.
"I think you're the one who's lost your mind!" the Chief of Patrol Officers retorted, then quickly opened the car door. Seeing Qin Yang inside, safe and sound, he finally let out a sigh of relief.
He then smiled and said, "I'm sorry, sir, for the trouble. I am the Chief of Patrol Officers of Kangwang Township. Chief Officer Guo from the county police has already communicated with me; this is all a misunderstanding between us. Chief Officer Guo will be here shortly to resolve this misunderstanding."
Qin Yang glanced at the man and immediately understood that the Chief Officer Guo mentioned was likely Wu Bin's brother-in-law. He then said, "Alright, let's go to your Police Station and wait. I want to see what kind of explanation Chief Officer Guo can give me!"
"Yes, yes, yes." The Chief of Patrol Officers did not dare to say no to someone who could make his direct superior personally respond, so he quickly replied.
Qin Yang did not get out of the car and continued to sit inside, resting with his eyes closed. This time, the Chief of Patrol Officers chased his subordinates out of the vehicle and acted as Qin Yang's driver himself.
