183: Chapter 183 Contact and Probing

As the voice fell, the sense of oppression originating from the depths of their bloodlines suddenly intensified. Several Chinese elites felt as if their blood had been frozen, their legs trembling uncontrollably.

They had clearly undergone the most rigorous training in the world, yet looking at those figures as steady as mountains in the shadows of the warehouse, they couldn't muster the slightest thought of resistance. The people before them were far more terrifying than those brutal genetic monsters from Japan; monsters only had brute force, but these people were surrounded by a deathly stillness and coldness that only came from countless life-and-death struggles, as if with a single thought, they could instantly decapitate the entire group.

The captain suppressed the stormy waves in his heart and slowly raised his hands to signal that they had no hostile intent. He then slowly lowered the thermal imaging device in his hand and bowed slightly toward the warehouse, his tone very respectful and even tinged with caution: "Please calm your anger, Your Excellency. We mean no harm and are certainly not here to provoke you."

Seeing this, his team members also spread their hands to show they were unarmed, but their eyes remained fixed on the Death Warriors inside the warehouse, not even daring to breathe loudly. They knew in their hearts that the strength of the group before them had exceeded the scope of normal humans, and any rash action would bring about total destruction.

The lead Death Warrior didn't move an inch. His indifferent gaze swept over the crowd, his icy stare almost tangible as he looked them up and down as if scrutinizing insignificant ants. After a long while, he spoke again, his voice devoid of any emotion: "Purpose."

No extra words, just two simple ones, yet they carried an unquestionable sense of pressure that made the atmosphere on the scene increasingly heavy.

The captain took a deep breath to steady his mind and, not daring to hide anything, spoke directly: "We are personnel from China's National Security Department. We have come this time to have a peaceful communication with your group. Regarding the previous Hong Kong City incident, your group stepped in to annihilate the Japanese genetic monsters and protect the people of Hong Kong City. We have kept this in mind. We are here first to express our gratitude, and second, to learn the identities and requests of your group. If needed, our side is willing to provide whatever help we can."

His words were extremely tactful. He not only pointed out that his side was aware of the other's achievements and lowered his posture but also subtly extended an olive branch while simultaneously testing the other's background.

Hearing this, the eyes of the Death Warriors in the warehouse didn't change at all, as if they didn't care about the so-called gratitude or help. They were originally Death Warriors with absolute loyalty under Qin Yang, acting only to complete the instructions he issued. Protecting Hong Kong City was merely a side task. As for their identities and requests, without Qin Yang's order, it was not something they could reveal at will.

Just then, from behind the lead Death Warrior, another Death Warrior took a step forward. His aura suddenly erupted—a murderous intent condensed from countless slaughters that swept out like a gale, instantly engulfing the warehouse entrance. The faces of the several Chinese elites turned pale, fine beads of cold sweat breaking out on their foreheads. Their bodies involuntarily retreated two steps, their already taut nerves nearly snapping.

"We have no needs," the Death Warrior said in a raspy, bone-chilling voice. "Please leave immediately and do not attempt to investigate further. Otherwise, face the consequences."

A threat! A blatant threat!

But even though they heard it loud and clear, the Chinese elites didn't dare to feel the slightest anger. They knew well that the other party had the capital to say such a thing. The images of these people insta-killing the Japanese genetic monsters on the streets of Hong Kong City were still fresh in their minds; that crushing strength was simply not something human power could contend with.

The captain's expression was grave. He knew that trying to get information out of them today was likely a pipe dream. This group acted in secret and possessed formidable strength; they clearly didn't want to have too much involvement with the authorities. Continuing to press would only completely infuriate them, which wouldn't be worth the loss.

He quickly spoke respectfully again: "It was our intrusion. Since Your Excellency is unwilling to reveal anything, we will withdraw immediately and will not disturb you again. However, please rest assured that we have no ill intentions. If there is a need in the future, you can contact us through the Hong Kong City Security Department."

After saying that, he didn't dare to stay any longer. He slowly retreated, gave a look to the team members behind him, and the group cautiously turned around, walking away step by step. They didn't look back the entire time until they were far away, only then daring to quicken their pace and completely leave the warehouse area.

Not until the figures of the Chinese elites had completely disappeared from sight did the Death Warriors in the warehouse retract their gaze, their murderous aura slowly dissipating.

The lead Death Warrior took out a mobile phone, his fingertips quickly pressing a few buttons to connect to Qin Yang, who was far away in H City. His tone regained a hint of respect: "Boss, Chinese official personnel found our hiding place and attempted to make contact for information. We have driven them away."

At this moment, inside the Qin Family penthouse in H City, Qin Yang was sitting on the sofa, watching the rolling news on TV about the attack on the USA's Capitol Building and the total annihilation of the Japanese genetic monsters. A faint smile played at the corners of his mouth. Receiving the communication from the Death Warrior, his expression remained calm as he softly instructed: "No need to make things difficult for them; they likely mean no harm. Continue to hide your tracks and protect yourselves. I have my own arrangements for what follows."

"Yes!"

A respectful response came from the other end of the phone, and then the connection was cut.

Qin Yang put down the phone, his fingertips lightly tapping the sofa's armrest as a trace of thought flashed in his eyes. China's officials finding the tracks of the Death Warriors was already within his expectations. As a top-tier major power, their intelligence and reconnaissance capabilities were not to be underestimated. Being able to follow the clues to the Hong Kong City warehouse was perfectly normal.

However, he wasn't worried. The strength of the Death Warriors far exceeded the understanding of this era. Even in a direct conflict, China wouldn't gain any advantage. Moreover, the other party had made it clear they wanted peaceful contact rather than a forceful crackdown, which was exactly the best situation.

Now that the USA and Japan had completely turned against each other, and the Capitol Building attack had caused the USA to lose face, given the USA's style of action, they would inevitably launch a frantic retaliation against Japan. The global landscape was about to undergo a violent upheaval, which was the perfect time for him to set his plans in motion.

Meanwhile, the Chinese elites who had retreated from the warehouse area had quickly returned to their temporary command point and immediately gave a detailed report of the situation to their superiors.

Inside the command room, several high-ranking officials had grave expressions after listening to the report.

"This group is indeed unfathomable. Not only is their strength heavenly, but they also act in secret, not giving us the slightest chance to probe them, not even letting a single word slip," a high-ranking official said helplessly, rubbing his temples.

"Fortunately, they have no hostile intent; they only drove our people away without taking action. This is already the best outcome," another official said deeply. "From their reaction, there must be someone in charge behind them, and they act extremely cautiously, not wanting to be exposed to the public eye too early."

"No matter who they are or where they come from, as long as they are on our side and can step in to fight the Japanese genetic monsters, they are not our enemies." The leading official's eyes were sharp as he immediately made a decision: "Order: withdraw all search personnel in Hong Kong City, stop tracking these mysterious people, and do not harass them again. At the same time, issue a strict order: anyone leaking relevant information will be dealt with by military law! Additionally, closely monitor the movements of the USA and Japan, and report all intelligence immediately!"

"Yes!"

Meanwhile, the USA had already fallen into unprecedented chaos and rage.

The Capitol Building had been reduced to ruins, with dozens of congressmen and hundreds of staff members perishing at the hands of the monsters. Even though the Japanese genetic monsters had been completely annihilated, it was difficult to cover up this humiliating disgrace. The entire country was in an uproar, with constant public protests demanding the government launch a devastating retaliation against Japan.

Inside a secret underground security base in the USA, an emergency high-level meeting was held overnight. The atmosphere in the entire meeting room was suppressed to the extreme. The President sat in the main seat, his face ashen and his eyes full of bloodthirsty rage.

"Japan, that despicable nation, dares to launch such a vile attack on our USA! I will make them pay a heavy price!" The President slammed the table, roaring sharply, "Immediately activate the war contingency plan! Mobilize B-2A Bombers carrying nuclear weapons! I want to exterminate those scumbags!"

"Mr. President, you mustn't!" a high-ranking official quickly stood up to dissuade him, his face anxious. "Our domestic situation is currently in turmoil, and Congress is paralyzed. If we rashly launch a nuclear war, the domestic economy and people's livelihoods will be affected. Once war breaks out, the losses will be immeasurable! Furthermore, every country in the world is watching us. Once a global nuclear war is triggered, it could lead to a chain reaction with unimaginable consequences!"

"So we just endure it?" The President's eyes were nearly splitting with rage. "The Capitol was bombed, and congressmen died miserably. I cannot swallow this! The USA cannot swallow this!"

"Retaliation is inevitable, but it cannot be a nuclear war." The Secretary of Defense stood up and said in a steady tone, "We can use precision strike forces to destroy all of Japan's genetic research bases and military-industrial facilities, cutting off any possibility of them developing genetic weapons again. At the same time, we will impose comprehensive sanctions on Japan, freeze all Japanese assets in the US, cut off all trade, apply military pressure, and enforce an economic blockade. We will turn Japan into a third-rate country. This is far more effective than an all-out war!"

Hearing this, everyone nodded in agreement. This plan could severely retaliate against Japan while avoiding the impact of a nuclear war, making it undoubtedly the best choice at the moment.

The President stared at the map of Japan on the sand table, his eyes extremely sinister. After a long silence, he finally spat out a sentence through gritted teeth: "Approved! Execute it immediately! I want Japan to pay a price from which they will never recover for this insane act!"
