61: 9.98 seconds for 100 meters

Once the huge banner was unfurled, it quickly caught the attention of a group of students. Qin Yang had already ordered the cameraman to start filming.

Seeing the words on the banner, the students' expressions varied; some frowned, some were curious onlookers, and of course, some had eyes gleaming with greed.

After a while, a student finally asked, "What is the meaning of this? Are you here to challenge us?"

A staff member immediately explained, "Don't misunderstand, students. We just want to have a friendly exchange. Sports are inherently competitive. Our company has found several exceptionally talented young people among the public and wants to know their true level. After all, B Sports is number one among all sports colleges in the country, which is why we chose this place. We have no intention of provoking anyone."

Upon hearing the staff member's explanation, the students who looked displeased softened their expressions. College students are an impulsive group. Even though it was essentially a challenge, it couldn't be stated openly, or they would easily get kicked out. It really comes down to the saying: I can criticize my alma mater as much as I want, but it's not for outsiders to gossip about. The protectiveness of Dongda students is ingrained in their bones.

Then another student asked, "Is what's written on the banner true? As long as we spar with you, we get one hundred thousand if we win?"

"That goes without saying. In front of so many students, how could we lie? Look, that handsome young man over there is our boss, and the bag held by the person behind him contains the prize money. Students, this exchange is absolutely real. If you don't believe us, you can record a video as evidence. If we don't keep our promise, you can expose us!" the company's Host explained again.

Hearing that there was indeed a one-hundred-thousand prize, the students immediately started discussing it. They were just college students; excluding those who were well-off, most hadn't really seen that much money. Now, just by running and beating a few amateurs in their best field, they could get so much money. Everyone was tempted!

"Then do you have any requirements? Can anyone sign up?" asked a student who was already excited by the prize money.

"There are a few requirements. Before we came, we heard that B Sports is full of hidden talent. We heard that first and second-level athletes are everywhere here, and master-level and international master-level athletes are also common. Therefore, for the sake of fairness, we will hold two competitions for each event. The first will be for first and second-level athletes, and the second for master and international master-level athletes. Each session is limited to seven participants. Anyone interested can go to the young lady over there to register. Spots are limited, so please hurry."

Upon hearing that there were only seven spots per round, the students immediately couldn't stay calm. This was money regardless of winning or losing! Immediately, a crowd of students swarmed in front of the young lady in charge of registration.

Qin Yang watched this scene from the side, looking quite pleased. The situation was developing well, and everything was going according to plan.

The excitement on the track and field training ground attracted many students from other sports. Hearing that someone had come for a competition and that there was money to be made, these students also gathered around. But seeing that there were only three events, students from other specialties began to sigh. What a great opportunity to get rich overnight! Even if they lost and got five thousand, it would be enough for several months of living expenses.

About an hour later, the female Death Warrior in charge of registration finally finalized the list of participants. There was no helping it; there were too many applicants and not enough spots, and the students almost got into an argument over signing up. In the end, a teacher who had been watching from the side couldn't stand it anymore. He took out the list of regular training results and selected the best candidates, which finally brought the situation under control.

A total of forty-two students got the opportunity. B Sports lived up to its nickname as the top sect in the sports education world; among these forty-two students, not a single one was below the level of a first-class athlete.

With the personnel confirmed, the competition was about to begin.

On the 100-meter track, seven students plus one Death Warrior had taken their positions.

The students were very interested in this "folk master," the Death Warrior. What kind of strength would one need to be so heavily backed by this company? You have to realize, if the Death Warrior lost, the company would have to pay out seven hundred thousand in prize money after one round. Even if the Death Warrior won, they would still have to pay thirty-five thousand. This was purely throwing money to create a chance for fame.

However, when the Death Warrior stood on the same starting line as the seven student athletes, everyone was a bit disappointed. It was too amateur; even the starting posture was wrong. As expected, there was a gap between a "folk master" and professionals.

The teacher firing the starting gun was also just joining in on the fun.

As the teacher called out "On your marks," the seven student athletes entered their preparation stance, and the Death Warrior followed suit.

Then, with a bang, the gun went off.

The eight people surged forward, charging ahead.

But a scene that shocked everyone appeared after twenty meters.

At that distance, the Death Warrior took just a few long strides to lead the second-place runner by nearly two meters. As they got closer to the finish line, the Death Warrior was in a commanding, cliff-like lead. By the time they reached the finish, the Death Warrior was nearly five meters ahead of the second-place runner!

Of course, this was only because the Death Warrior remembered Qin Yang's instructions. Otherwise, the Death Warrior would have dared to let this group of students run fifty meters first before chasing them!

"Holy crap! Are you kidding me? The one in second is Wang Zihang, right? I remember his 100-meter electronic time is 10.70 seconds. Damn, he got beaten by five meters! Then what kind of time must this folk master have???"

As soon as the race ended, the Death Warrior's performance instantly caused a sensation throughout the training ground.

Everyone quickly ran toward the electronic timer at the finish line.

When they saw the numbers displayed on the electronic timer, there was a brief silence at the scene, followed by an uproar!

9.98 seconds!

This number had already broken the current 100-meter record of B Sports.

Then, everyone looked at the Death Warrior, who was drinking water with a calm expression, as if looking at a monster.

This result also shocked many of the track and field teachers watching. You have to understand, with their eyes, looking at the Death Warrior's 100-meter run, the starting posture and running form were pure garbage. But even so, the Death Warrior could still run under ten seconds. This left them both shocked and pleasantly surprised. If they could correct the Death Warrior's starting and running habits, there was a good chance of significantly improving the time even further!

The teacher who fired the starting gun was named Wang De. At this moment, his heart was pounding. He didn't expect that just by joining in on the fun, he would discover such a good talent. He took a deep breath, tried to calm himself down, and then walked up to the Death Warrior with a warm smile on his face.

"Young man, your performance is truly excellent. I don't know your name yet? How old are you this year?"

The Death Warrior glanced at Wang De, remembered the boss's instructions, and smiled, "My name is Liu Yang, and I'm twenty this year."

"Oh, Liu Yang, right? What a great young man. Your sprinting talent is truly excellent. I just looked at your start and running form; you haven't received professional training, have you?" Wang De replied.

"Yeah, I usually just run around randomly. I just run a bit faster than others."

"Then are you interested in becoming a professional athlete? With your talent, it would really be a pity not to become a professional athlete. My name is Wang De, and I am the sports instructor responsible for track and field sprinting at B Sports, as well as a track and field coach. I would like to solemnly invite you to join my training team." Wang De looked at Liu Yang expectantly.

Upon hearing this, Liu Yang pretended to scratch his head and replied, "I'll have to ask my boss about that first."
