27: The dust has settled

Immediately, everyone stood up, preparing to head to the mediation room.

Just as Qin Yang stepped out of the transcript room, he saw Second Bao in the hallway, being escorted by two Police Officers toward the interrogation room. During this, Second Bao was screaming like a madman: "Deng Jun, you really dare to touch me? My uncle is the second-in-command of the North District! I think you don't want to keep your job as the head of this Police Officer station anymore!"

At this moment, Deng Jun also walked over from a corner with a dark face.

Seeing Qin Yang and his group, he first managed a faint smile and nodded at Qin Yang, then looked at Bao Da and said: "Bao Da! Don't think your uncle can help you this time. Human life is at stake; if you don't confess honestly today, you're going to have a rough time!"

"F*ck you, Deng Jun, you ungrateful dog! Don't forget who promoted you to this position!" Seeing that Deng Jun was really serious, Second Bao entered a frenzy, continuously hurling abuse at Deng Jun.

Qin Yang saw Deng Jun's expression darken even further, and he thought to himself that Second Bao was finished, and this matter was settled.

Immediately, Qin Yang stopped looking at them and followed Zhang Zhenlin into the mediation room.

After they sat down, Zhang Zhenlin enthusiastically poured water for everyone, including Qin Yang, and then tactfully left the room.

By now, Qin Yang's Maternal Aunt, An Yu, had finally calmed down significantly, and her thoughts were much clearer. She was somewhat shocked by the changes in her nephew.

"Yang Zai, thanks to you today, otherwise Maternal Aunt really wouldn't know what to do." An Yu expressed her gratitude first.

"Maternal Aunt, we are family. Family doesn't talk about two different things. Don't worry, I will definitely seek justice for Maternal Uncle, and I won't let him die so inexplicably." Qin Yang comforted her.

"Yes, your Maternal Uncle even said this morning before work that he would check your little brother's homework tonight. And you know, your Maternal Uncle was a very optimistic and cheerful person; he would absolutely never commit suicide."

"I understand, Maternal Aunt." Qin Yang echoed.

Just like that, Qin Yang kept comforting An Yu in the mediation room until past two in the afternoon, when Deng Jun ran in, covered in sweat.

"President Qin, I'm sorry to have kept you waiting. After our exhaustive investigation, there is finally a result."

"No need for formalities. Just restore the truth for us, Manager Deng. We are mentally prepared for everything."

"Alright, then let me explain in detail. Ahem, the cause of Si Bo's death has been cleared up. It was caused by human intervention. Si Bo was an accountant at Bao Da's factory. For some reason, Si Bo had been secretly collecting evidence of Bao Da's tax evasion. Just a few days ago, Si Bo's actions were discovered by another accountant at Bao Da's factory, who then reported it to Bao Da."

"Regarding this behavior, Bao Da believed that Si Bo was targeting him, so he called Si Bo upstairs this morning to talk, wanting Si Bo to hand over the evidence he had collected."

"Si Bo refused to admit it to the death, so Bao Da ordered his subordinates to beat him. Bao Da's subordinates didn't know their own strength, and one of them hit Si Bo's back of the head with a weapon, causing him to die on the spot. Then, in order to escape legal sanctions, Bao Da had people drag Si Bo to the top floor and throw him off, faking a suicide by jumping off a building. Then, he bribed the crematorium worker to mistakenly cremate Si Bo's remains, destroying all evidence."

"That is the course of events. President Qin, Bao Da's underlings have all confessed. What awaits them will be legal sanctions."

After hearing the reason, Qin Yang furrowed his brows. He could accept this truth, but what he didn't understand was why his usually timid Maternal Uncle would go to collect criminal evidence on Bao Da for no reason; it didn't benefit him at all.

On the other side, after hearing this, An Yu continued to wail loudly, muttering: "I told him not to do this, but he insisted! Now look, he died a quick death! How are we, a widow and orphan, supposed to live! Wuwuwu!"

"Maternal Aunt, why did Maternal Uncle want to go after Bao Da?" Qin Yang asked his question.

"Si Bo was avenging his sister. I thought that with Xiao Yi, he had already given up on that idea!" An Yu said intermittently.

Xiao Yi was Qin Yang's cousin, named Si Ziyi, only seven years old this year.

Then An Yu choked back tears and told the full story.

"Twenty years ago, the Si family had a conflict with the Bao family. Because Si Bo's sister was beautiful, Bao Da took a fancy to her by chance. Bao Da pursued his sister, but his sister did not agree. Consequently, Bao Da became angry from embarrassment. One day, he insulted Si Bo's sister. Si Bo's sister could not bear the insult and chose to commit suicide the next day. Because of his age at the time, the law didn't do anything to Bao Da. Si Bo had a very good relationship with his sister, and this matter became a thorn in his heart. After growing up, Si Bo married a wife and had a child. Originally, time would have faded everything, but Bao Da's sudden appearance made the hatred in Si Bo's heart impossible to suppress any longer. Just like that, Si Bo used his professional skills to enter the factory opened by Bao Da."

"Bao Da was never a good person to begin with. Relying on his background, he committed many offenses, especially tax evasion. Si Bo originally thought he could avenge his sister without anyone knowing, but fate toys with people..."

They say art comes from life. Qin Yang never imagined that such a thing would happen to his own relatives, ultimately resulting in a happy family being shattered. Moreover, his Maternal Uncle Si Bo's thinking was too simple. If it weren't for Qin Yang making a name for himself and having some background, I'm afraid Si Bo would never have been able to do anything to Bao Da until he died! Society is just that realistic.

"Manager Deng, since the evidence is conclusive, I would like to know what Bao Da's final outcome will be?" Finally, Qin Yang asked.

"Uh, President Qin, our Police Officer station is only responsible for interrogation. As for sentencing, that is the responsibility of the Judiciary. However, in my experience, Bao Da will be in for at least fifteen years or more!"

"Hmm? Why so light?" Qin Yang frowned. In his opinion, there were already two known murder cases involving Bao Da; sentencing such a person to death would absolutely be correct.

"This, President Qin, Bao Da only wanted to threaten Si Bo with violence to get the evidence at the time, and his subordinates accidentally caused Si Bo's death. Therefore, it's impossible to sentence Bao Da to death for this. Also, burning the wrong body, faking the crime scene, and so on—the charges are serious, but even with cumulative sentencing, it will only increase his prison term..." Deng Jun explained.

Upon hearing this, Qin Yang nodded and didn't say anything more, but a flash of cold light flickered in his eyes.

Bao Da and the others were detained, awaiting legal trial. There was no point in waiting here any longer, so Qin Yang took his Maternal Aunt and her son back to Hongbin Tower.

Although the sentencing would take some time, the deceased is of the utmost importance. Since his Maternal Aunt and the Si family relatives hadn't arrived yet, the funeral arrangements fell on Qin Yang. However, this was a bit difficult for Qin Yang; it was truly his first time handling such a matter. Fortunately, money makes things easier. With the suggestion of that righteous colleague of his Maternal Uncle, Qin Yang found a funeral service company, which finally freed him.

Over the next two days, relatives and friends of the Si family and his Maternal Aunt's family arrived one after another. The scene doesn't need much description; it was heartbreaking to watch. This only further confirmed Qin Yang's inner resolve: he absolutely could not let Bao Da get off easily!

After Maternal Uncle's funeral, this matter was considered settled. Compensation and such would have to wait until Bao Da and the others were sentenced to have a resolution. These were no longer things Qin Yang needed to focus on.

This day, Qin Yang was sitting in the manager's chair in the Hongbin Tower general manager's office, listening to Zhao Zhi's report.

"Boss, these past few days, I have registered the name of the group company; the name is the Qin Group as you decided. Furthermore, I have separately registered Qin Catering, Qin Construction, Qin Security, Qin Biomedical, Qin Moving Company, Qin Machinery Manufacturing, and many other subsidiaries."

"Due to the heavy workload, I have also found some talent through headhunters to be in charge of various subsidiaries and to carry out upgrades and construction for each. Among them, my current goal is to focus on the catering and moving companies, striving to open branches of Hongbin Tower in the other three main urban districts of the city within a month."

"We have now entered the store site selection phase. Regarding the moving company, I plan to imitate Yunlala and use an online order-taking model. However, for labor, we will use our own people. Once the scale expands, we will then consider hiring outsiders."

As for company management, Qin Yang was completely clueless. It was the same old saying: professional matters should be left to professionals!

"You handle it. Is there anything else?" Qin Yang replied after listening to Zhao Zhi's report.

"Also, there is the formalization of the group. We need our own office location, and there is a shortage of various administrative staff. Our people cannot handle these positions, so I need to start large-scale recruitment. Also, regarding taxes, although you paid taxes before, Boss, I had professionals look at it, and there are many taxes we can reasonably avoid. Therefore, the company needs to hire a professional financial and accounting team."

"Hmm, go ahead and do it!" Qin Yang replied, yawning.

Zhao Zhi twitched the corner of his mouth and nodded in agreement. The next topic was finally something that interested Qin Yang.

"Boss, uh, the company can reasonably avoid taxes by purchasing vehicles. I see that your current ride doesn't quite match your status. Do you have any requirements in this regard?"

Hearing this, Qin Yang was no longer sleepy.

He quickly asked: "Can I buy the car myself?"

"Yes, as long as it is registered under the name of the Qin Group."

"Alright, I'll go take care of that when I have time today." Qin Yang replied.

Cars—what man doesn't like them? Qin Yang liked them too. However, because he had that toyota prado before, Qin Yang had never paid attention to this aspect. Now that he thought about it, that Prado really didn't match his current status. If he were to attend a gathering in the future and drove a Prado there, he would inevitably be looked down upon. As the saying goes, "People rely on clothes, horses rely on saddles; respect the clothes first, then the person." Society is just that realistic, and it's not something Qin Yang can change. Of course, if Qin Yang becomes as rich as Pony Ma or Jack Ma in the future, then no matter what car he drives, no one will look down on him.

Once he reaches that level, Qin Yang could also act cool like Jack Ma: "I have no interest in money. Cars? Cars are just a means of transportation. Do I still need to rely on a car to elevate my status?"
