36: Construction site advertising
After touring the office, Qin Yang sat lazily in the leather office chair and began listening to Zhao Zhi's report.
First, with the injection of funds, Zhao Zhi had already taken over a restaurant in each of the eastern, northern, and southern districts. Interior renovations were currently underway and expected to be completed in half a month, after which all branches of Hongbin Tower would open simultaneously.
Second, the construction company had been fully established, consisting of over two hundred first and Second-level Death Soldiers. Through the connections of Qin Yang and Wei Liang, they had secured a small project from Wei Liang's hands, primarily responsible for building construction. If this project were completed, it would yield a net profit of about eighty million. Of course, the Death Warriors' wages were included in that. If labor costs were deducted, the company would only make ten to twenty million at most. However, since the Death Warriors were all Qin Yang's people, there was no need to worry about labor costs. Taking on projects like this was truly satisfying!
Qin Yang still had a bit of a conscience after all, as he instructed Zhao Zhi, "Although the brothers don't have salaries, let's still give everyone a monthly subsidy of two hundred yuan. Also, make sure the food is better; ensure there's a meat dish every day."
"Understood, Boss," Zhao Zhi replied with a bow.
Then Qin Yang asked, "Does our company have any need for advertising?"
Zhao Zhi thought for a few seconds before replying, "Boss, we do. The storefront signs for our restaurants need to be custom-ordered from an advertising company. Also, some printed materials and signage needed for the restaurants can be custom-made through one as well."
"Then roughly how much will all that cost?" Qin Yang asked.
"The finance department gave me a budget; about a hundred thousand should be enough," Zhao Zhi replied honestly.
"Only a hundred thousand?" Qin Yang muttered. He had promised Deng Yue he would bring in a big order. A hundred-thousand-yuan order felt a bit pathetic.
"Boss, actually, a hundred thousand is already a high estimate, and that's for three storefronts," Zhao Zhi explained upon hearing Qin Yang's mutterings.
Then Zhao Zhi added, "Boss, is something the matter? Why don't you tell me, and I'll give you some suggestions."
Qin Yang didn't keep it from Zhao Zhi and replied, "It's because your Madam has opened an advertising company, and I said I'd help her find orders. But a hundred-thousand-yuan order is a bit too small."
In ancient times, Zhao Zhi would have been a top-tier strategist. He understood the implications immediately and grasped Qin Yang's meaning. He smiled and said, "So Boss just wants to get a big order for the Madam, right? It's actually quite simple. Just because our company doesn't have one now doesn't mean other companies don't. For instance, the construction project General Manager Wei took on includes advertising for the site. A project for over four hundred thousand square meters of construction site advertising—that should count as a big order!"
Hearing about construction site advertising, Qin Yang immediately perked up.
Zhao Zhi continued, "However, construction site advertising usually requires bidding. But given your relationship with General Manager Wei, Boss, I'm sure he wouldn't refuse you the favor for a bidding project worth a few million!"
Seeing the matter that troubled him resolved so nonchalantly by Zhao Zhi, Qin Yang stood up, lightly punched Zhao Zhi's chest, and said, "You're really something!"
"Hehe, it is my duty to solve problems for the Boss," Zhao Zhi said with a bow and a smile.
Seriously, who wouldn't like a subordinate who speaks so well, is loyal, and is resourceful? Anyway, Qin Yang was now extremely fond of Zhao Zhi.
With Zhao Zhi's suggestion, Qin Yang quickly dialed Wei Liang's number.
"Hello, Brother Qin."
"It's me, Brother Wei. I'm here to ask for your help again."
Because of their frequent collaborations and meetings, their relationship had progressed rapidly, and they now addressed each other as brothers.
"Haha, Brother Qin, just say the word. As long as I can help, I won't refuse," Wei Liang replied heartily.
Then Qin Yang told Wei Liang about wanting to take on the construction site advertising project.
"You mean you want to take over the construction site advertising project? That's not right, Brother Qin. You just made over a hundred million from the demolition, and then you took on a section of the project that should net you at least ten million. Why would you be interested in a small project worth a few million?" Wei Liang asked, somewhat confused.
"It's not for me; I'm actually asking for my girlfriend. She's starting a business and opened an advertising company. As her boyfriend, I have to show some support," Qin Yang said directly. Of course, by asking for a favor, Qin Yang would owe the other party, but that's how it was between friends—owing each other favors only brought them closer.
"Oh, so it's for my Younger brothers wife. Then there's no problem. However, Brother, the bidding for this project has already started, so she'll still need to go through the process for the sake of appearances. Just have her submit a random bid, and I'll notify the people below; it won't be an issue. By the way, what's her name? She'll need to come over when the bids are opened." Hearing that Qin Yang wanted it for his girlfriend, Wei Liang immediately agreed. A small project worth a few million didn't really require a big boss like him to stress over it; his previous question was purely out of curiosity.
"Then thanks a lot, Brother Wei. I'm starting to feel a bit embarrassed for always bothering you. Brother Wei, are you free tonight? Let's grab a drink." Qin Yang laughed.
"There's no need for that between us. As for drinks, let's wait a few days. The project is about to start, and I really can't find the time right now."
"Alright then, let me know when you're free."
After they hung up, Qin Yang looked satisfied. This was the benefit of having connections. Something that an ordinary person might not resolve even after running themselves ragged could be settled by a person in power with just one phone call. Fairness? When has this world ever been fair?
With the project settled, Qin Yang wasn't in a hurry to notify Deng Yue. A project this big would definitely count as a surprise.
Immediately, some ideas formed in Qin Yang's mind, and the corners of his mouth curled into a slight arc, as if he had thought of something interesting.
