108: Attending a family dinner

As soon as Qin Yang finished speaking, the conference room became so silent that a pin drop could be heard.

From then on, with the endorsement of the big boss Qin Yang, Meng Xu and the others' positions in the company would naturally no longer be criticized by others.

However, during the lunch with his cousins, Qin Yang still gave them a few warnings. The summary was: earn money properly and don't mess around in the company; otherwise, if the company is poorly managed, it's their own rice bowls that will be smashed.

Meng Xu and the others were all adults and understood the principles they needed to. Their current jobs were what they had once dreamed of; if they lost them, they wouldn't have the face to ask Qin Yang to find them another job like this.

After the meal with his cousins, Qin Yang drank a bit and went home for a nap. Around three in the afternoon, Deng Yue returned from her company and woke him up.

The two of them got dressed up. Deng Yue drove that Panamera, taking Qin Yang to the banquet location, while Wang Chao and the others followed behind for protection.

Coincidentally, the banquet location chosen by Deng Yue's uncle's family was actually a branch of Hongbin Tower under Qin Catering.

But it was also normal. Nowadays, thanks to Zhao Zhi's proper management, Hongbin Tower had expanded to eight branches in H City.

Moreover, with the Death Warrior chefs in charge and their exquisite skills, every branch was exceptionally popular, and they now had a resounding reputation in H City's catering circles.

Zhao Zhi had previously reported to Qin Yang that Hongbin Tower's next plan was to expand beyond H City and occupy the northern catering market. Naturally, Qin Yang supported this. Furthermore, Zhao Zhi had plans to enter the hotel and clothing industries. According to Zhao Zhi, as long as they secured two of the four basic necessities of life—clothing, food, housing, and transportation—the Qin Group would become a super giant. He was currently working hard toward the blueprint he had planned.

As for the machinery plant and pharmaceutical plant projects, Zhao Zhi attributed them to the effectiveness of the system mall and felt they weren't enough to prove his ability, so he excluded them. From this, it could be seen that Zhao Zhi was also a man with his own pride.

To play it low-key before the big reveal, Qin Yang specifically notified the Hongbin Tower branch they were heading to not to reveal his identity yet, but to observe the situation first.

Upon arriving at the Hongbin Tower branch, following the notification in Deng Yue's family group chat, the two went straight upstairs to the private box.

In the private box, Deng Yue's uncle, Deng Lun, was talking loudly, boasting about how impressive his future son-in-law was. Of course, that son-in-law was indeed excellent. In H City, a provincial capital, to reach the position of a deputy section-level official with actual power in a municipal government agency before the age of thirty without any background was truly being a "dragon among men" with a bright future.

Don't be misled by the internet. In reality, take Zhang Zhenlin for example: he's thirty-five this year. Without Qin Yang's help and with no background, he could never have reached a leadership position in his life. Relying on Qin Yang, he had independently cracked a large-scale drug case and had only now been promoted to Deputy Chief of the Police Station. This position is also at the deputy section level, showing how difficult promotion within the system is.

Therefore, Deng Lun's future son-in-law must be very capable and could truly be called excellent.

When Deng Lun boasted, there were naturally those who played along. Deng Yue's aunt was one of them. It wasn't that she wanted to suck up, but life gave her no choice. She was a worker at an old factory in H City. Her job used to be quite relaxed, and she was just waiting for retirement. But at some point, she unintentionally offended a factory leader. Needless to say, she was given a hard time and reassigned to a more tiring workshop. At nearly fifty years old, she had to do high-intensity physical labor just like the youngsters. But there was no way around it; when she went to the leader, he just said she had to follow the arrangements or resign.

Seeing as she could retire in a few years, resigning now would be foolish, so Deng Yue's aunt could only grit her teeth and endure.

Later, someone gave her a tip, suggesting she find someone to speak on her behalf. But Deng Yue's aunt's family were all ordinary people; they didn't know anyone capable. Her eldest brother, Deng Lun, was only moderately wealthy and couldn't talk to the factory leaders. Hearing that her niece was dating a capable boyfriend, Deng Yue's aunt got the idea to ask him for help. Thus, the current scene.

When Deng Yue brought Qin Yang into the private box, everyone's eyes turned toward them. Seeing their daughter and son-in-law arrive, Deng Yue's parents were naturally the happiest, quickly standing up to let them sit beside them.

"Second Brother, who is this?" seeing a strange young man enter, Deng Lun asked in confusion.

"Big Brother, let me introduce everyone. This young man is Qin Yang, Yueyue's boyfriend. They're basically set. Since we have a family gathering today, I had Yueyue bring him over for everyone to meet," Deng Yues Father replied with a smile, then introduced Qin Yang to all of Deng Yue's relatives.

Qin Yang also very politely stood up and greeted everyone one by one.

After sitting down, Deng Yue's eldest aunt asked, "Xiao Yang, what do you do for a living?"

"Eldest Aunt, I do a bit of small business myself, taking on some work at construction sites," Qin Yang replied, pulling out his old shield again.

"Oh, a small contractor. But construction sites are hard to work at nowadays. I know many contractors, and collecting payments is a real struggle. Xiao Yang, you have to be careful not to get yourself trapped," Deng Yue's uncle, Deng Lun, interjected.

"Yes, yes, mine is just small-scale. Collecting payments is still relatively smooth," Qin Yang replied perfunctorily with a smile.

Then everyone inquired about Qin Yang's family background, and Qin Yang answered truthfully.

Upon learning about Qin Yang's job and family background, everyone lost interest in probing further. Ten years ago, contractors were very popular, but in today's environment—haha, known as the lowest point for the construction industry—no one had any desire to investigate Qin Yang further.

After waiting another ten minutes or so, the door to the private box opened again. This time, a young couple entered. The woman was very beautiful, bearing a forty to fifty percent resemblance to Deng Yue. The man was quite handsome, wearing gold-rimmed glasses and an administrative jacket, but giving off a feeling that he was difficult to get along with.

The newcomers were Deng Yue's cousin and her fiancé, Deng Rou and Xiao Yi.

Seeing their son-in-law arrive, Deng Yue's uncle and aunt both stood up joyfully to welcome them, followed by another round of introductions.

After the introductions, everyone sat down and asked the waiter to start serving the food.

During the meal, Deng Lun introduced, "I don't know when this Hongbin Tower suddenly popped up. I'd never heard of it before, but in the last few months, it's become incredibly popular. No matter who comes here, they praise the dishes. I came once before, and it was indeed delicious. For today's table, I had to book two days in advance; otherwise, you can't get a spot if you book on the same day.

Everyone, hurry and try it; you'll see that I'm not exaggerating!"
