3: Get Hongbinlou
At three in the morning, outside the Garden Community, a convoy of cars suddenly appeared and stopped at the community entrance.
Then, over a dozen masked individuals, armed with clubs and machetes, exited the vehicles and hurried into the community.
As they passed the community guardhouse, two masked men walked directly in and subdued the security guards, while the rest headed straight for the building where Qin Yang lived.
Qin Yang was awakened by a fierce clamor of shouts and killings. When he woke up, Song Wu, Li Fei, and two First-level Death Warriors, who shared the same room with him, were already awake, holding kitchen knives, stools, and other makeshift weapons, surrounding Qin Yang.
"What happened?" Qin Yang asked groggily. Three or four in the morning was when people were most tired, and Qin Yang's mind hadn't fully processed things yet.
"Boss, someone just tried to attack us, but the brothers on night watch noticed them. Tie Niu and the others are handling it," Song Wu explained.
Upon hearing this, Qin Yang immediately sobered up. Indeed, the Zhao family brothers weren't so easy to deal with; here came the retaliation. Fortunately, Qin Yang hadn't let down his guard and had arranged for people to stand guard even at night. Otherwise, under a sneak attack, there might have been some casualties, but in a head-on confrontation, the Death Warriors were fearless.
As Qin Yang expected, the noise outside stopped after only half a minute, and then his door was knocked upon.
Song Wu asked, "Who is it?"
"Brother Wu, it's me, Tie Niu. The outside is handled. Is the boss awake?" Tie Niu replied.
"He's awake, Song Wu, open the door," Qin Yang said, standing up.
Song Wu opened the door. The hallway was already filled with people. Don't misunderstand, these were all Qin Yang's Death Warriors and the Zhao family brothers' subordinates. The ten rooms Qin Yang rented later were all on one floor, essentially occupying the entire floor, so there were no other onlookers at this time.
Over a dozen of the Zhao family brothers' subordinates were now being held on their knees by the Death Warriors, all with bloody heads, clearly severely injured.
Qin Yang walked out and asked, "Are our people alright?"
"We're fine, Boss. Just a few little brats, they can't hurt us," Tie Niu quickly replied, patting his chest.
Qin Yang nodded and looked at the attackers.
"Which one of you is the leader?" Qin Yang asked.
The dozen or so subordinates of the Zhao family brothers didn't answer, but all looked at a young man in the middle.
The young man was very handsome, but the injuries on his body made him look somewhat disheveled.
Seeing everyone looking at him, the young man knew he couldn't hide, so he said, "It's me."
"Who are you? What's your name? Did Zhao Jian send you?" Qin Yang asked directly.
The young man paused, then replied, "My name is Shen Ning. General Manager Zhao sent us to invite you over."
"Heh heh!" Qin Yang chuckled softly, looking at the clubs and machetes scattered around, and sarcastically said, "Is that how you 'invite' people?"
Shen Ning no longer replied, looking at Qin Yang with some fear. He regretted coming in person with his men. He had thought of capturing an ordinary person and making a good impression on Zhao Jian, but who knew that as soon as they entered the floor, they encountered a group of super strong men who subdued them in no time. This young man named Qin Yang, with so many strong subordinates, didn't look as harmless as he appeared. As the saying goes, when immortals fight, mortals suffer, and he was that mortal.
Qin Yang was naturally unwilling to let it go at that. Since the other party had already come to his door, there was nothing more to say. As for calling the police, Qin Yang hadn't considered it; he had too many secrets, and the other party was clearly playing outside the rules, which Qin Yang also enjoyed.
Qin Yang went back to his room, put on his clothes, and had Tie Niu grab Shen Ning and two guys who could drive. He then led a group of Death Warriors into the cars brought by Zhao Jian's men and headed straight for Jinsha Nightclub.
At home, Li Fei and Song Wu were responsible for guarding the remaining people with two others. Of course, in a society ruled by law, Qin Yang wouldn't do anything to these thugs, at most letting them suffer some physical pain. After all, Qin Yang didn't want to flee abroad; his family was still in China.
Jinsha Nightclub.
It was already 4:30 AM, and men and women ending their nightlife began to disperse. At the back entrance of the nightclub, Qin Yang and his group had arrived.
Led by Shen Ning, Qin Yang entered through the back door and took the staff elevator to the top floor.
As soon as the elevator doors opened, Tie Niu and Hummer were the first to step out, each leading over a dozen brothers to clear the way.
Along the way, anyone from Jinsha Nightclub, whether waiters or bouncers, was immediately knocked down. Anyone who dared to resist received two punches. Soon, the top floor became quiet.
Zhao Jian was in the innermost Emperor Suite on the top floor. Because the nightclub's soundproofing was excellent, those inside had no idea what was happening in the corridor.
"General Manager Zhao is inside," Shen Ning said, pointing at the door of the Emperor Suite.
Qin Yang gestured for him to open the door and go in.
Shen Ning complied.
As soon as Shen Ning entered, the eyes of the group inside turned to him. Zhao Jian, seeing it was Shen Ning, told someone to turn off the music in the private room. Then, with one arm around a singing companion and a microphone in the other hand, he said, "Is the job done? Where's that little brat?"
Before Shen Ning could reply, Qin Yang walked in with a group of Death Warriors, striding confidently.
After entering, the Death Warriors quickly moved forward and subdued the others who were about to get up.
"If you don't want a few extra holes in your body, just behave!" Tie Niu shouted loudly.
Immediately, the previously noisy private room became silent.
Zhao Jian watched this scene with a gloomy expression, not replying.
Hummer pulled a chair opposite Zhao Jian, and Qin Yang walked over and sat down.
He reached for a pack of cigarettes on the table, lit one, blew out a puff of smoke, and asked, "I heard General Manager Zhao was looking for me, so I eagerly came over. General Manager Zhao, what do you want? I'm right in front of you now; you can speak."
Zhao Jian looked at Qin Yang's pretentious demeanor, his face turning black and red, like a running lantern. He hadn't expected his men to fail, nor had he expected Qin Yang to have so many people. At this point, it was naturally wise for a hero to avoid immediate trouble.
Zhao Jian then asked, "I admit defeat this time, little brother. You can state your conditions, and we can discuss them."
"Heh heh, you were going to cripple me, and we can still discuss?" Qin Yang sneered.
"Then, little brother, name your price. I'll accept it all."
"Alright, General Manager Zhao is straightforward. I heard you have a restaurant in University Town, and the foot traffic there is pretty good. Let's take that restaurant as my spiritual compensation, and I also want 500,000 in spiritual compensation. No problem, right, General Manager Zhao?" Qin Yang immediately stated his demands. It wasn't that Qin Yang was petty; it was still the same principle: unless absolutely necessary, Qin Yang genuinely didn't want to do anything too excessive and get noticed by the authorities.
Qin Yang had roughly investigated Zhao Jian's background. His main industries were a construction company, four nightclubs, and one restaurant. The construction company was Zhao Jian's lifeblood, which he would definitely not give up. As for nightclubs, they were useless to Qin Yang at present. Running such establishments primarily required good connections with official figures, a network Qin Yang did not possess. It was conceivable that if Qin Yang took over a nightclub, he would likely face daily inspections, which would be extremely troublesome. Therefore, Zhao Jian's restaurant was the best choice.
That restaurant was named Hongbin Tower, with three floors, approximately 500 square meters, located in University Town. The property rights were also in Zhao Jian's hands, with an estimated value of over seven million yuan. This one restaurant alone would be enough to make Zhao Jian's heart ache.
Indeed, Zhao Jian quickly shook his head upon hearing this, saying, "Impossible. How about this, I'll give you two million in spiritual compensation, and our matter ends here!"
"Heh heh, General Manager Zhao, you're joking. Do you think I'm discussing with you? I'm informing you!" Qin Yang sneered.
At this, Zhao Jian also became resolute, saying, "Then can you kill me?"
"Yes, I can't kill you, but others can! Tie Niu, come here!" Qin Yang said, looking at Tie Niu.
Tie Niu quickly came over and said, "Boss, your command!"
"Come on, give General Manager Zhao a performance he's never seen before!" Qin Yang replied, pointing at the marble coffee table in front of them.
Tie Niu instantly understood. He then gathered strength and punched the coffee table with a fierce blow.
Bang! With a crash, the entire coffee table shattered into pieces.
Zhao Jian and everyone else in the private room were dumbfounded. You must know that it was marble. Although it was hollowed out in the middle, it was not something an ordinary person could smash with one punch.
Then Qin Yang asked again, "Iron Bull, are you afraid of going to jail?"
"Boss, I'm not afraid!" Iron Bull patted his chest and said.
"Alright, General Manager Zhao, if you don't want to pay the price, that's fine. But if you want to deal with me, I'll retaliate. How about this: my brother here isn't afraid of going in, and I don't want your compensation. You just take one punch from him, and that'll be fair." Qin Yang turned to Zhao Jian and said.
Zhao Jian was still in shock from earlier. When he heard Qin Yang's words, his face turned green. Even a piece of marble couldn't withstand a punch from that strong man. If he went up there with his physique, he would probably be beaten into a complete cripple with one punch!
Thinking of this, Zhao Jian gritted his teeth and said, "Alright, I'll give it to you!"
"Hahaha, General Manager Zhao is straightforward. Of course, General Manager Zhao, you can continue to retaliate, but let's be clear, if there's a next time, it won't be settled with just one restaurant. My brothers here enjoy dealing with generous people like you.
But let's be honest, General Manager Zhao has gone legitimate now, so don't always resort to fighting and killing. You're different from us common folk. We, who have nothing, aren't afraid of those who have something. Your life is precious, it's not worth exchanging it with ours! Don't you agree?"
Zhao Jian didn't reply after hearing this, which was considered an implicit agreement. In fact, Zhao Jian was truly scared. Qin Yang's group were all in their twenties, skilled, and at an impulsive age. If they really got agitated and crippled or killed him, he wouldn't even know where to cry.
As the saying goes, 'a porcelain vessel should not contend with an earthenware pot' is exactly this principle.
Then Zhao Jian clearly stated that he would deliver the restaurant's land deed and money this morning, and only then did Qin Yang leave with his men.
Before leaving, Qin Yang also asked for the three vehicles they arrived in: one Jinbei van and two off-road vehicles. Qin Yang didn't bother to check the brand of the off-road vehicles. Since the big chunk of money was given, Zhao Jian could only twitch his mouth and agree to the vehicles.
After Qin Yang left, someone advised Zhao Jian to report Qin Yang for extortion, but in the end, Zhao Jian waved his hand and said to forget it, and also told others to keep their mouths shut.
Back then, Zhao Jian also started from nothing and climbed to where he is today. Now, wealth and luxury have long corroded his daring spirit. In fact, what truly extinguished Zhao Jian's desire for revenge was the gaze of Iron Bull and the other Death Warriors—a gaze that, just like his own back then, was full of wildness and disregard for life. This meant that if these people were truly provoked, they would really dare to take his life! This was the most crucial point. It's still that same saying: the greatest fairness from heaven is that everyone has one life.
Upon returning home, Qin Yang dealt with Zhao Jian's subordinates and then released them. These little brats wouldn't dare to harbor thoughts of revenge.
Qin Yang lay on the bed and continued to sleep, sleeping until broad daylight. Iron Bull's team had already gone to work, and Song Wu was also leading people to make lunchboxes.
Looking at the busy Death Warriors, Qin Yang smiled, feeling a sense of déjà vu, like an ancient landlord.
In the morning, it was Shen Ning again, who came with a lawyer and money. Then, both parties completed the transfer of Hongbin Tower and the three vehicles. Qin Yang kept a close eye, transferring Hongbin Tower and the cars to a Death Warrior under his command named Dagang. If Zhao Jian went back on his word or there was any trap, Qin Yang could protect himself; as long as Qin Yang was still around, the problem would be solved.
Fortunately, Zhao Jian didn't cause any trouble, and the transfer of Hongbin Tower went smoothly. From then on, Qin Yang owned a high-end restaurant. As for extorting someone like Zhao Jian, Qin Yang felt no burden whatsoever.
University Town, in front of Hongbin Tower, Qin Yang looked at the three-story Hongbin Tower, feeling very excited. Who would have thought that half a month ago he was just a poor boy delivering takeout, and now he would have a luxurious restaurant all to himself.
Leading his men into Hongbin Tower, only the person who handled the handover with Qin Yang remained inside. It was clear that Zhao Jian was still somewhat unwilling, having withdrawn all of Hongbin Tower's staff, trying to annoy Qin Yang. Qin Yang, however, was indifferent to this, because he had better employees, and these employees didn't even need to be paid.
The person handling the handover briefly introduced the specific situation of Hongbin Tower to Qin Yang and then left.
Hongbin Tower is considered a relatively high-end restaurant in the University Town area, located on the University Town Food Street. It has a total of sixteen private rooms of various sizes, a very modern kitchen, and the first floor is for dine-in, with a very good environment. The decoration also shows that Zhao Jian put thought into it.
Among the group, the happiest person to see Hongbin Tower was Song Wu. He was truly tired of those small kitchens in the dormitory. With a more advanced kitchen, his efficiency would be greatly improved.
Leaving two people to guard and clean, Qin Yang began to lead his subordinates to expand the lunchbox business again. Today there were two lunchbox selling points, so Qin Yang divided his people into two groups: one was still the construction site from yesterday, and the other was set up in front of Hongbin Tower.
Zhang Ya and Liu Yuan arrived very promptly. It was clear that the two girls really liked this part-time job, otherwise they wouldn't be so proactive.
Due to occupying two very good locations with high foot traffic, and with the spread of word-of-mouth at the construction site, the lunchboxes were still selling very well today. Qin Yang was responsible for collecting money, which was a relatively easy job, but it still kept Qin Yang flustered and busy, not to mention the others who were serving dishes and rice. Of course, Qin Yang's booming business also attracted the envy of surrounding vendors, but there was nothing they could do, as their food was not as good as Song Wu's. Small businesses are like this: quality and quantity are the core of competition.
Two hours passed, and the food was gone. Just like last night, Qin Yang gave each of the two girls two lunchboxes.
As the two girls began to eat, Qin Yang said, "You don't need to come here tonight..."
"Ah? Brother Yang, did we do something wrong?" Zhang Ya asked, unable to chew the food in her mouth, making muffled questioning sounds, like a little pig.
This appearance amused Qin Yang, who explained, "Listen to me first. It's like this: I also opened a spot in University Town, at Hongbin Tower. It's closer to your school, so you can just go directly to Hongbin Tower tonight. It'll be more convenient for you."
"Oh, oh, so that's it. Thank you, Brother Yang." After hearing the explanation, the two girls finally breathed a sigh of relief.
After the two girls finished eating and packed up their things, the group returned to Hongbin Tower. The business at Hongbin Tower was a bit slower, but still decent, as delicious food is something everyone finds irresistible.
Back inside the store, the cleaning had been completed. Song Wu had already started using the phone Qin Yang bought him to contact suppliers for ingredients. The evening lunchboxes were planned to be made here.
Qin Yang, on the other hand, once again transformed into an accounting machine, settling the surplus.
Today's performance hit a new high again. Over 1,200 lunchboxes were sold at noon. After deducting costs, the net profit for this noon alone reached nearly 9,000. If they sell another batch tonight, the net profit will definitely exceed 15,000. Sure enough, choosing this track has some potential.
In the afternoon, Qin Yang handed over the lunchbox business to Song Wu, while he drove with Li Fei and some idle Death Warriors to the agreed meeting point with Xie Yu.
Qin Yang currently has twenty-six First-level Death Warriors and two Second-level Death Soldiers. After deducting Iron Bull's team and Song Wu's team, there are still ten people left. Qin Yang arranged these ten people, along with Li Fei, into the construction site through Xie Yu.
The two also discussed the labor costs. Laborers would earn 290 yuan per person per day, with Xie Yu taking 10 yuan. Carpenters, because they were contracted for specific tasks, had no fixed daily wage, but their daily income would not be less than 600 yuan. Xie Yu, out of respect for Qin Yang, still took 10 yuan.
Qin Yang calculated that ten laborers could earn 2,800 yuan a day, plus Li Fei, bringing the income to 3,400 yuan, which was not a small amount. Coupled with Xie Yu's guarantee that wages would be paid on time, he agreed.
Actually, the wages Xie Yu offered were very high. Qin Yang had also worked as a laborer, and back then, he only made 260 yuan a day. The missing portion of the money was probably taken by some scoundrel. These hidden details were only accessible to Qin Yang as his status and position improved.
