2: Hooliganism on the bus

After speaking, he slapped the dossier back into Xiao Li's hand and, without another word, led a mortified Lin Xianfeng back to the station.

"Xie Changkun, Director of Baiyun Police Station, heed this order!" Zheng Yongnian roared, pulling out a red-headed document.

Xie Changkun was startled, but he reluctantly stopped, standing there with a look of defiance.

"According to the Branch Bureau's research and decision, Lin Xianfeng and Ye Lin are appointed as Grade 3 Police Inspectors at Baiyun Police Station, with a one-year probationary period." Zheng Yongnian read the document solemnly.

"Xie Changkun, this is a collective decision by the Branch Bureau, not something you can mess around with!"

"You have to take this person, whether you want to or not!" With that, Zheng Yongnian slapped the dossier back into his hands, an undeniable look on his face.

Xie Changkun looked helpless. "No, the Branch Bureau leaders can't do this. They know our station is understaffed, yet they give me this kind of guy. Five disciplinary actions? How am I supposed to manage him? Forget about hoping he'll do anything, I'd be praying to the gods if he just didn't cause trouble."

"Besides, look at how he looks. If you ask anyone, no one would say he's a police officer."

Seeing Xie Changkun soften, Zheng Yongnian's tone also became gentler. "Old Xie, it's not that the Branch Bureau intentionally wants to make things difficult for you; it's just that there's really no one else. The city only gave us these few unique seedlings. Other stations even wanted them, so aren't we prioritizing you?"

"Besides, people are all brought up. We all know your methods, Old Xie. You're an experienced police officer, a master at both investigating cases and managing people. After you've trained this kid, who knows, he might become another Baiyun Tiger in the future?"

"Cut it out, 'Baiyun Scourge' is more like it, 'Baiyun Tiger' my foot?" Xie Changkun wasn't so easily fooled.

As he spoke, Xie Changkun's eyes suddenly darted around. He lightly patted the dossier and said slyly, "Director Zheng, our station only has one small jeep and two small electric scooters. Can the Branch Bureau consider adding a minivan or something for us?"

Zheng Yongnian cursed inwardly, this old fox, he's here to bargain. He figured that if he didn't give him some incentive, this old man definitely wouldn't accept the person. "Old Xie, look at what you're saying. If the grassroots have difficulties, we will definitely solve them, especially the difficulties of Baiyun Police Station. I'll go back and report to the Director immediately, and I'll definitely get you a minivan, alright?"

When Xie Changkun heard this, his heart bloomed with joy. Looking at Ye Lin again, he didn't seem so annoying anymore.

...

On the bus heading to Baiyun.

A young man with long hair sat on the priority seat near the door, intently scrolling on his phone, occasionally revealing a faint smile.

Individually, the young man's facial features were quite decent, but put together, they always gave people an inexplicable feeling—hmm, like those petty ruffians in movies; every expression could make one feel annoyed and disgusted.

So, the faint smile the young man occasionally showed also appeared particularly lewd to everyone.

The passengers who boarded were all commuters who didn't want trouble, so they kept their distance from this kind of person. Although glances of disdain occasionally flew by, no one actually approached him. Even if he was sitting in the priority seat, everyone turned a blind eye. What normal person would bother with a petty hooligan?

"Huagong Road, next stop. Passengers wishing to alight, please exit through the rear door."

The bus arrived at the station. As the doors opened, several people who had been standing by the door got off, and a few more boarded from the front door.

Each time people boarded, everyone subconsciously glanced, but this time, their gaze lingered a little longer.

Because, this time, a beautiful woman boarded.

She was a young married woman dressed lightly, with long, wavy hair cascading down her back, a melon-seed face, almond eyes filled with allure, and slightly upturned red lips. She wore short shorts that reached mid-thigh, revealing a pair of stunning fair legs.

On her upper body, she wore a low-cut short-sleeved top, the expanse of white on her chest strikingly obvious. Her prominent bosom, coupled with her slender waist, swayed from side to side with the crowded bus.

Seeing such a captivating woman on the bus excited the men, who all turned their gaze towards her.

The young man by the door, who had been scrolling on his phone, stopped looking at it. His shifty eyes scanned the young woman up and down, appearing particularly brazen compared to the other men who were sneaking glances from the corner of their eyes.

The young woman naturally noticed such a naked stare. Just as she was about to get angry, she saw the young man's thuggish face, touched her red lips lightly, cursed under her breath, and quickly walked past him to sit in a seat further back.

With the commotion settled, the men's gazes also retracted, giving them time to look at the other boarding passengers.

They were all normal office workers, dressed similarly to everyone else. Most walked a couple of steps and then were too lazy to push further back, so they just stood in the middle and grabbed the overhead strap.

Only one middle-aged man, in his thirties, was slowly inching his way to the back.

He was slightly stout, with a fleshy face, wearing common shorts and a short-sleeved shirt. As he squeezed through the carriage, he kept apologizing, looking like an honest person accustomed to being bullied.

This honest man, carrying a backpack, finally squeezed to the very back of the bus, where there was still one seat behind the young woman.

"Vehicle starting, please hold on and sit tight. Next stop, Baiyun Road." The bus slowly pulled out of the station.

The bus moved, beginning its new journey. Everyone else looked out the window or ahead, waiting for the next stop.

Only the thuggish young man put down his phone, turned his head, and stared directly at the young woman in the back, his eyes darting around, wondering what he was smiling about.

The young woman was annoyed by being stared at. She pulled her legs in tightly, glared at him, and cursed softly, "Hooligan."

Who knew, it would have been better if she hadn't cursed. As soon as she did, this petty hooligan actually stood up.

Before anyone could figure out what he was going to do, he roughly pushed aside several people standing in the middle aisle and swaggered up to the young woman.

"Beautiful lady, hitting is affection, scolding is love. Did you just declare your love for me?" the petty hooligan said with a smirk.

The young woman had never expected that in broad daylight, someone would dare to act like a hooligan in public, and for a moment, she forgot to retort.

"Beautiful lady, silence means consent, right?" The petty hooligan reached out his hand, about to touch the young woman's hair.

"Stop!"

A loud shout came from the front of the bus.

Since ancient times, heroes save beauties, and where there's a beauty, there's naturally no shortage of heroes.

A young man, looking like a university student, walked out from the front of the bus, rushed directly in front of the petty hooligan, and was about to point his finger and curse.

Unexpectedly, this petty hooligan disregarded martial ethics. Before even speaking, he delivered a forceful kick to the university student's chest. The student couldn't stand firm and fell to the ground with a backward somersault.

Everyone quickly helped him up. After being kicked, the university student also felt a bit intimidated and didn't dare to step forward again.

The petty hooligan swept a fierce gaze over the crowd in front of him and said coldly, "Some things are not for you to meddle with."

The cold tone combined with that fierce face made everyone feel a chill, and they unconsciously took two steps back.

"Don't go too far! If you continue, I'll call the police!" Just when everyone was silent, the bus driver couldn't stand it anymore and warned loudly.

"Go ahead and call! I've got a Green Dragon on my left and a White Tiger on my right; it's not like I haven't been in before. At most, I'll be locked up for a week and then I'll be out. But you, bus driver, you run this route every day, do you want to try it?" The petty hooligan wasn't afraid of such warnings at all and fiercely threatened back.

Now the bus driver fell silent. There was nothing he could do; this kind of petty hooligan was not to be trifled with. After all, he still had to earn a living, and if the hooligan waited for him at the bus stop every day, it would be a lot of trouble.
