41: Car crash and knife attack
After hitting him, the driver slammed on the brakes, intending to admire his handiwork.
He looked up and felt as if he had seen a ghost. “Damn, what is this?”
Ye Lin’s body, after being hit into the air, did not fall straight to the ground like an ordinary person, becoming a pile of flesh.
Instead, it was like… what was it like?
He thought for a long time and finally realized; he was like a leaf.
Such a big person was actually floating left and right, lying flat in the air, slowly descending.
The moment of the collision, Ye Lin was pleasantly surprised to find that although the car hit him, he felt no pain throughout his body, as if he had been caught in a hurricane.
There was no impact, only the feeling of the wind rising.
Then his body flew into the air, carried by the airflow generated by the car, swaying and dancing in the airflow, and then slowly floated onto the road like a leaf.
Just as Ye Lin experienced the magic of the [I Am A Little Leaf] experience card, the system’s voice rang in his mind again:
“The system is enraged and is now issuing a temporary mission: apprehend the hit-and-run driver within 24 hours.”
“Host has successfully escaped danger. Rewarding Host with 2 [Tracking Cards], each capable of tracking a target for 24 hours.”
Damn, this doggone system seems even angrier than him.
Ye Lin looked at the two extra yellow cards in his inventory, and without hesitation, he used them. A yellow light merged into the body of the hit-and-run driver ahead, who showed no reaction.
At this moment, a map automatically appeared on the system, with the driver’s location flashing as a red dot on the map.
“Son of a bitch, let’s see how you run now.”
Just as Ye Lin was about to get up and give chase, suddenly, a group of hooligans rushed out from the alleys on both sides, each carrying a large machete, and charged towards Ye Lin, who was still lying on the ground.
The hit-and-run driver had recovered from his initial surprise, gave Ye Lin a faint glance, then drifted away, instantly disappearing at the end of the road.
Nearly ten hooligans scared the pedestrians on the road, sending them scattering in all directions.
“Police Officer, I need to report this! This is outside the Xishan District Branch, and someone is attacking people!”
“Hurry up and come!”
With such a large scene, someone quickly called the police.
Ye Lin looked at the group of people charging at him and decisively ran backward, not on the sidewalk, but on the motorized vehicle lane.
He weaved through the cars; if a dozen people surrounded him, it would be very dangerous.
The drivers on the motorized vehicle lane were so scared that they stopped their cars, locked their doors, and could only hear clanging sounds as machetes occasionally swung in the air, striking the car bodies.
Now, even the most arrogant drivers no longer had road rage; they huddled in their cars, not daring to come out.
The cars behind were already backed up in a line, effectively splitting the pursuers into several routes.
Ye Lin ran and calculated, and seeing that only two people were chasing him in the middle lane, he suddenly stopped and turned around.
This sudden turn startled the two people behind him.
However, they only hesitated for a moment before their knives swung towards Ye Lin.
Ye Lin was now very proficient in using Ghost Foot Seven’s Ghost Foot, and to deal with such machetes, a sweeping leg was all it took.
With two loud thuds, the two hooligans fell heavily, their heads directly hitting the hood of a small car, creating a large dent. The driver inside was heartbroken.
But it wasn’t over yet. A minion in another lane, seeing Ye Lin turn around and attack, immediately climbed onto the hood of the small car and swung his machete.
The driver inside was filled with hatred, wondering why it was always his car.
With such a comfortable posture, Ye Lin didn’t even think, directly executing a horizontal sweep. The hooligan lost his balance, and his entire weight of over a hundred pounds directly dented the hood.
“Buddy, why are you hitting up there? If you keep hitting, my car will be totaled!” The driver couldn’t take it anymore and shouted, rolling down his window.
But no one paid him any attention. Ye Lin had no time, and neither did the attackers.
In that brief delay, four or five minions had already surrounded him.
Ye Lin quickly stepped onto the roof of the car, and several minions immediately followed suit.
Instantly, the car roof also sagged.
“Damn it, if you’re going to fight, just fight! Why are you stepping on my car?!”
The driver roared.
Clang, clang, clang, clang!
Several machetes struck the car window, scaring him into quickly shutting his mouth.
Seeing several minions catching up on the car roof, Ye Lin flipped down, landing steadily on the ground.
The minions behind, chasing in a hurry, saw Ye Lin jump and followed suit.
However, in mid-air, he saw Ye Lin’s cunning smile and immediately felt a bad premonition.
But it was already too late. Ye Lin turned around and delivered a spinning kick, squarely hitting the minion in the chest.
“Bang!”
He crashed heavily onto the trunk of the small car, creating another large dent. The driver now dared not to speak his anger.
The other minions, seeing this, dared not jump and went around the side.
One had just turned around when a large foot flew at him. A whip kick struck him in the face, knocking him out cold.
Out of a dozen minions, only seven or eight were still standing.
Ye Lin was no longer flustered. He jumped twice more in the middle of the traffic, taking out a few more.
Then, standing in the middle of the road, he beckoned to the remaining five minions: “Come on!”
The five minions were incredibly brave, their eyes flashing with ferocity, and they charged directly.
To be honest, Ye Lin hadn’t expected this group to be so fierce. Generally, if a dozen people were beaten down to only five, the rest should have run away long ago.
The fact that these people didn’t run indicated that they were definitely organized, and their discipline must be very strict, or their punishments were severe.
Indeed, the five people’s eyes were filled with madness, and one of them didn’t even use a knife, directly spreading his arms to embrace Ye Lin.
This was a fight to the death. Ye Lin frowned, his steps becoming much steadier.
“Ah—” The minion without a knife screamed wildly, rushing forward with open arms, completely disregarding everything.
Ye Lin slowly retreated two steps, evading four machetes, allowing himself to directly face this mad minion.
Seizing the opportunity, Ye Lin stomped his foot heavily, then a stepping side kick, carrying a gust of wind, his right foot heavily struck the minion’s chest.
Only a muffled “thump” was heard.
The madly charging minion flew out like a cannonball, soaring over two cars in the air, and fell to the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood with a “pfft.”
After dealing with the most troublesome one, the remaining four minions were easy to handle. Ye Lin delivered several whip kicks, and the four people lay stiffly on the ground.
