122: Shout slogans and assign teams

“Look, that’s Lingnan City Martial Arts University, the rat that spoils the whole pot of soup!”

“Tsk tsk~~ They actually dare to show their faces without wearing masks?”

“Heh heh, they’re famous now.”

“The Principal is so incompetent, relying on a big debate, yet he didn't even know his teachers were from the Headhunter Tribe, Pooh!”

“I heard the Ministry of Education plans a comprehensive investigation into the Aptitude of teachers, intending to trace back five generations of their ancestors.”

“I have to say, a teacher from my school mysteriously went missing, do you think it’s…”

“There’s also this, then something really is going on.”

“I hope we don’t get assigned to the same team as Lingnan City Martial Arts University, it’s embarrassing.”

The format for this National Exchange Competition for new students has already been distributed to the teachers and students of various Martial Arts Universities.

Because there are too many teams.

It would take too long to compete round after round.

Therefore, the organizers adopted a mixed-team approach.

Namely: every ten Earth-Grade City Martial Arts Universities are randomly formed into one combat team.

The combat teams that emerge victorious will then compete against each other to ultimately determine the champion.

This relies heavily on luck.

If one can form a team with cities like Shen City, Capital City, Magic City, Sichuan West, Southwest, etc., there’s hope of directly securing a spot in the top ten.

Shen City, Capital City, and Magic City naturally go without saying; their economies are developed, and they consume Medicinal Pills like crazy, commonly known as ‘ Krypton Gold Warrior’ (pay-to-win warriors).

As for Sichuan West, Southwest, and other regions, they all have Permanent Dungeon entrances, and their people are fierce and their martial prowess savage.

Soon.

The National Exchange Competition officially opened.

Following the well-known procedure, the leaders began to enter.

Both the participating teams and the spectators exclaimed in surprise:

“Governor Yu Qi of Liaoning Province is here!”

“Hiss!! And the Minister of Education!”

“High-ranking officials from the military are also here.”

“The Director of the Martial Arts Management Bureau is also here?”

“Hey hey? Isn't this the boss of Wushou Insurance Company, the one you should invest in if you're going to invest? What's he doing here?”

“Nonsense, in a Martial Artist competition, weapons have no eyes; if someone gets injured, bumped, or even dies, doesn't the insurance company have to compensate?”

“Damn, then why don't I see the supervisor of the crematorium? It's a one-stop service!”

Then.

After these important figures entered, a host stood before the microphone, scolding to maintain order:

“Quiet down, no loud talking!”

“This is a Martial Artist exchange competition, not a celebrity concert!”

“Maintaining silence is the greatest respect for every Martial Artist!”

“No one is allowed to interfere with the competition order, no loud talking without cause, and no insulting or humiliating participants!”

Principal Zhang rolled his eyes below.

He should have said that last line earlier!

The previously chattering scene instantly fell silent.

Everyone then realized that this was not a concert they usually attended, nor was the exchange competition a theatrical troupe.

Any Martial Artist is a privileged class in society.

Allowing them to enter and watch today was already a precedent; apart from underground boxing matches, regular large-scale Martial Artist combat competitions like this were previously not allowed for ordinary people to watch.

After announcing the rules, the Martial Artist on stage continued: “The First National Exchange Competition is officially open!”

The crowd below didn't react for a moment; it was that fast?

No leader's speech?

Not playing by the rules, huh?

“For the fairness of the competition, students present will now draw for the combat teams.”

Staff pushed in a small cart, on which was a box covered with a black cloth.

Inside the box were small balls, each with the name of a Martial Arts University written on it.

Every 10 small balls drawn would form a combat team.

The person scanned the crowd and pointed: “You, come up and draw lots.”

Qi Chuanyu pointed at his own nose with a look of surprise: “Me?”

“Yes, you.”

Principal Zhang’s heart sank; drawing lots was fine.

But he knew that the Zha Tian Gang had prepared several slogans to cheer for Shen Bei.

They shouldn't shout them on such an occasion.

Principal Zhang was about to go up and tell Qi Chuanyu not to say too much, only to draw lots.

But he couldn't get through, and Qi Chuanyu was already on stage.

And… Qi Chuanyu wasn't the only one on stage.

Everyone from the Zha Tian Gang was on stage!

“We’re together,” Qi Chuanyu said with a sincere smile.

The host didn't care: “Alright, more people means faster drawing, let’s begin.”

“We have a few slogans for everyone, I wonder…” Qi Chuanyu asked tentatively.

The host oh-ed, encouraging slogans, right?

Good thing.

“Go ahead.”

After receiving permission, the four members of the Zha Tian Gang stood perfectly aligned.

With a whoosh.

They waved their flag.

And shouted in unison:

“Lingnan isn’t big, but it creates myths!”

“Lingnan, Lingnan, winning the championship isn’t hard!”

“Oh yeah!”

After the three slogans were shouted, the entire venue fell silent.

Crows cawed as they flew across the sky.

The host’s face turned red with embarrassment, wishing he could find a hole to crawl into.

I told you to encourage everyone, not yourselves!

Also, these rhyming words, which brilliant mind came up with them?

It sent shivers down his spine.

And the teachers and students below were numb.

Their expressions were blank, their bones itchy, their scalps tingling.

Even though they weren't the ones shouting, they all felt incredibly embarrassed.

The spectators made sounds of surprise and booing.

“Where did these lunatics come from? I almost choked with laughter.”

“Lingnan Martial Arts University, famous again!”

“Gotta say, just based on the shamelessness of these four, they’ll definitely do well in society.”

“I burst out laughing, isn’t the Principal of Lingnan City Martial Arts University embarrassed?”

“See for yourself, Principal Zhang is already squatting on the ground scratching his head.”

Principal Zhang was indeed squatting on the ground, vigorously pulling at his hair.

First, the Shepherd made him lose face.

Then, the Zha Tian Gang made him lose face.

He had never felt that being a Principal was such a difficult profession to handle.

Professor Gu Xinrou and Jian Tong continued to cover their faces with their hands.

Professor Gu Xinrou whispered: “You should spend less time with Shen Bei in the future; look at them, they were all normal students before, and now, they’re all clowns!”

Jian Tong hummed: “I, I’ll be careful.”

At this moment, after a few seconds of blank embarrassment, the host on stage quickly waved his hand: “Quickly draw lots.”

“Oh oh, okay.”

Qi Chuanyu and the others busily started to feel for the small balls.

They placed them into small boxes labeled ‘Combat Team No. 1’, ‘Combat Team No. 2’, and so on.

Soon.

The drawing was complete.

The Zha Tian Gang politely bowed to the leaders and the teachers, students, and spectators below, then stepped off the stage.

Qi Chuanyu extended his fist, full of vigor: “Well done, guys!”

Liao Zhongyang scratched his head: “It’s just that everyone else’s reaction isn’t quite normal.”

Niu Yanben let out a strange laugh: “They must be furious, right? Who gets this kind of opportunity to promote their school? Jealousy, pure jealousy, hey!”

Du Ziteng smacked his lips: “Anyway, it’s been said, it’s been shouted, can time flow backward? Ignore it, just ignore it!”

How could the Zha Tian Gang members not know it was a bit embarrassing?

But the Aura and atmosphere had to be hyped up!

Their reputation was already in tatters, so this was Lingnan Martial Arts University’s defiant resistance.

Shouting out the momentum, that’s up to the Zha Tian Gang.

Achieving results, that can only be left to Shen Bei.

This is called a two-pronged approach, drawing both bows, complementing each other.

In Qi Chuanyu’s opinion, their mission was complete.

The rest was up to Shen Bei.

“Principal?”

Qi Chuanyu and the others returned to the team, seeing Principal Zhang squatting on the ground, utterly confused.

Principal Zhang waved his hand: “Stomach ache.”

Du Ziteng: “I’m here.”

Principal Zhang: …

Qi Chuanyu smacked his lips: “Stand up, what are you afraid of? We can’t lose in Aura!”

The Zha Tian Gang forcibly helped Principal Zhang up: “Buttocks tucked, stomach in, back straight, very good.”

Professor Gu Xinrou really couldn’t bear it anymore; she pressed her hands down and glared at them: “Stop messing around! Go stand in the back!”

The Zha Tian Gang members shrugged.

Just then.

The host on the main stage began to announce the combat team rosters:

“Combat Team No. 1: Magic City, Suzhou, Harbin, Huangshan, Zhoukou, Zhaoqing…”

“Combat Team No. 2: Jiangmen, Capital City, Sanya, Dezhou, Huaibei, Wuhai, Wushi, Dongsheng…”

“Combat Team No. 10: Wuwei, Liupanshui, Lingnan, Kaifeng, Pingdingshan, Datong…”

The lists for over twenty teams were announced with great flourish.

Some students were overjoyed.

No other reason, they drew powerful cities or provincial capitals.

This meant that the probability of entering the top ten greatly increased.

Other students were dejected.

Because… they drew Lingnan City Martial Arts University!

Although their reputation was out there, for better or worse.

But Lingnan City had no 'better' at all!

Look at those four big clowns.

Team No. 10, it’s ruined!

Time to order some food, huh?
