57: I stabbed my brother twice

“The Apocalypse Cult is a secret society that practices ‘holy object worship’ and does not have a clear tendency towards anthropomorphic deity worship.”

Jian Tong, her cherry-red lips pressed against her tender white fingers, continued as if reciting a text:

“The highest leader of the cult is called the ‘Chief Priest,’ and below him are bishops, cadres, Chiefs, Advanced members, and ordinary members.”

“The cult’s holy object is the ‘Scales of Truth,’ and its basic doctrine is very vague, consisting of only ten characters: ‘Fairness of the Secular, Justice of Truth.’”

“Within its cult, they are keen on ‘sacrificial rituals,’ claiming to achieve world balance through ‘fair exchanges.’”

After stating this book knowledge, Jian Tong offered her own opinion:

“Honestly, even though I’ve read some introductory materials, I still only half-understand. Some conceptual things require separate clarification.”

Shen Bei nodded.

The so-called “holy objects” were actually things produced in the underground caves.

Ordinary Martial Artists only cared if they could be refined into Medicinal Pills to quickly increase their attributes.

Things that couldn’t be refined into medicine were mostly treated as waste, with little to no utilization value.

Or rather, their effectiveness when utilized was minimal, so they were usually not a focus for Martial Artists.

However, the Apocalypse Cult regarded these items as holy objects.

Differences in ideology would naturally lead to divisions among people.

Shen Bei temporarily ignored these matters.

…

An hour later.

The bus, on its way to the bus station, stopped at the gate of Lingnan City Martial Arts University.

Only Shen Bei and Jian Tong got off this bus.

Shen Bei looked at Lingnan City Martial Arts University, and couldn’t help but be surprised.

Because it was time for new student registration, there were many students coming and going.

The sounds of people were bustling and crowded.

Various luxury cars were jammed at the entrance, and new students, accompanied by their parents, were moving their luggage.

Shen Bei even saw private helicopters roaring overhead, landing on the Lingnan City Martial Arts University helipad…

In comparison, Shen Bei and Jian Tong’s mode of transportation seemed a bit shabby.

However, what surprised Shen Bei most was the gate of Lingnan City Martial Arts University.

Just the gate alone was nearly 100 meters wide—was this even a gate?

Fifty family cars could enter side-by-side.

“Do Martial Arts University students drive aircraft carriers in and out?”

Standing in front of the school gate, Shen Bei couldn’t help but mutter.

With a hundred-meter width, driving an aircraft carrier wasn’t impossible, but Shen Bei couldn’t understand the Martial Arts University’s aesthetic sense for such a large gate.

Although men all liked “big.”

Hmm, women also liked it.

However, if the school area was large, having such a large gate didn’t seem entirely unacceptable.

With a hundred-meter-wide gate, the height would naturally not be low; the gate tower was at least about 10 meters high.

Above the gate tower, seven large characters were carved in a Dragon and Phoenix style—Lingnan City Martial Arts University!

The characters were also enormous, making Shen Bei feel like he had arrived in a land of giants, and he was a small dwarf.

Standing in front of such a school gate, one would involuntarily feel a sense of insignificance.

As Shen Bei was lost in thought, someone behind him said with a chuckle, “Impressive, isn’t it?”

Shen Bei found the voice somewhat familiar.

Turning his head, he saw it was none other than Qi Chuanyu.

Today, his attire was exceptionally flamboyant.

His permed, curly hair, paired with smoky eye makeup, leather trousers, and a chain, were the essence of his look, with intricate patterns creating a sense of decadent vitality for the overall style.

A Japanese-style little punk…

Shen Bei was stunned. What kind of blow had he suffered?

Couldn’t he look a bit more “human”?

Shen Bei’s finger moved up and down, pointing at Qi Chuanyu’s outfit: “You… do you want to get an MRI to check your brain?”

Qi Chuanyu’s face showed some annoyance: “No, I can’t. I have an iron will!”

“How about an extra Medicinal Pill? My treat.”

“You don’t like my style of dressing? That just means you’re old-fashioned.”

Shen Bei coughed: “Wearing clothes is an important evolution for humans, not for you to branch off.”

Qi Chuanyu snorted: “This is called fashion, you wouldn’t understand.”

Shen Bei and Jian Tong exchanged glances, both taking a step back, afraid of being associated with him and losing face.

Qi Chuanyu, however, didn’t care and returned to the previous topic: “Seeing the school gate, do you feel insignificant?”

He had to admit, the gate was indeed too big. Shen Bei nodded: “A little.”

“Exactly! When the school was built, it was designed this way to teach students to understand themselves.”

Qi Chuanyu, like a tour guide, explained: “We are insignificant. This is just the gate of a school. If you feel insignificant just standing in front of the gate, what about after you enter? The world inside the gate is vaster, more dangerous, and more interesting!”

Shen Bei was somewhat unconvinced and shook his head: “I think this can increase the project budget. Touching a piece of pork, that’s quite a substantial amount.”

Qi Chuanyu asked in confusion: “Touching it? It’s not like eating it, what’s objective about that?”

Shen Bei smiled, looking at him as if he were an idiot.

Jian Tong giggled beside them, covering her mouth and saying, “Of course, there’s a profit to be made.”

Qi Chuanyu’s mouth twitched: “Shen Bei, you’re judging a gentleman with the heart of a villain.”

Shen Bei waved his hand, walking through the gate and saying, “Who is the villain? Who is the gentleman? Who dictates that a person can only play one role?”

Qi Chuanyu was momentarily bewildered, stammering and unable to speak.

The three walked together.

They arrived at the new student registration office.

They exchanged their admission notices for a student information file and a paper bag.

The information file was filled out truthfully.

They received their Lingnan City Martial Arts University student cards.

Inside the paper bag were various school rules and precautions, as well as details about their personal welfare entitlements.

“Wait a minute—”

Qi Chuanyu looked at the student card in his hand, compared it with Shen Bei’s student card, and turned to ask the staff member:

“Why are ours different? Special treatment?”

Everyone else’s student cards were silver.

Engraved with personal information.

But Shen Bei’s student card was actually gold!

The staff member explained: “He’s the Champion.”

Shen Bei even bit his student card, exclaiming: “Pure gold!”

Qi Chuanyu jumped around: “Pure gold? Holy cow, so what if he’s the Champion? Is he not a student? This isn’t fair!”

“Don’t worry.” Shen Bei smiled, pulling out a room card from his paper bag: “A standalone villa dormitory.”

Qi Chuanyu looked at his own room card, a two-person room…

“Damn it! Unfair! What’s so great about being the Champion?!”

“He’s the Champion,” the staff member repeated like a broken record.

Shen Bei then looked at his school welfare, exclaiming again: “I can receive five qi and blood pills, five True Dragon Medicinal Pills, five Hegemonic Body Solidifying Pills every month…”

“Damn it!” Qi Chuanyu’s eyes widened, and he questioned the staff member: “How come I only get three?”

“He’s the Champion.”

Shen Bei continued to flip through the paper bag: “And there’s more—”

“Stop!”

Qi Chuanyu pressed his hands down, his smoky-eyed face contorted into a grimace: “Don’t say another word… Goodbye, then.”

Qi Chuanyu rolled his eyes and squeezed out of the crowd.

At this moment, Du Ziteng and Niu Yanben squeezed in.

When the three met, they inevitably greeted each other with insults about their female family members.

Qi Chuanyu, facing two, sprayed saliva flying.

In the end, the school’s disciplinary patrol came over and kicked each of them in the heel, finally separating the three.

As Du Ziteng and Niu Yanben were filling out their information, they glanced at Shen Bei, their eyes dark and unclear, grinning.

Shen Bei was baffled and replied, “What are you looking at?”

Du Ziteng and Niu Yanben were stunned.

Most people wouldn’t dare to say those three words.

It usually led to a beating.

Niu Yanben cleared his throat: “The enemy of my enemy is my friend, so we’re brothers, hey!”

Shen Bei said “Oh,” seemingly understanding, and then said, “To go through fire and water for brothers?”

Du Ziteng nodded: “You, my brother, I’ve decided to befriend!”

Shen Bei spread his hands: “However, I like to stab my brothers in the back.”

Niu Yanben: …

Du Ziteng: …
