396: DJ Great Compassion Mantra, just shake it if you want

Shen Bei already envisioned dismembering Wang Da Nao Dai, then throwing him into a meat grinder to be thoroughly minced, and finally tossing him into a stinking ditch to feed the catfish.

That blabbermouth was truly awful.

Actually, back in junior high, Shen Bei was just experiencing hormonal urges, thinking that the prettiest girl in his class had a fated connection with him.

After graduating junior high and entering high school, he then felt a fated connection with Jian Tong.

It was just… in his youth, he felt a connection with every beautiful woman.

Simply put, it was a case of abandoning principles for beauty.

This is also a common affliction among teenagers.

Of course, Wang Da Nao Dai was a blabbermouth, but not everyone from junior high was at this reunion, and the 'sister-in-law' whose name Shen Bei had even forgotten was also absent.

At this moment, Shen Bei and Jian Tong hailed a taxi, and the two sat in the back.

Shen Bei looked listless, while Jian Tong was actually quite interested in touching up her makeup. Shen Bei said with a wry smile, 'Jian Tong, this is my class reunion; why do I feel like you're more excited than I am?'

Jian Tong rolled her eyes at him and said, 'For a Martial Artist like you, how can you use the word 'excited'? This is called 'taking it seriously'. Tonight, Wang Da Nao Dai will definitely introduce me to others as your wife. How can I not help you save face?'

Upon hearing this, Shen Bei felt like dying; what was all this about?

He could only helplessly tell Jian Tong, 'You're overestimating my classmates. These people are like a pirated Avengers Alliance; all kinds of characters, but not a single normal one. When we go, we'll just eat, and then we'll leave. The less we talk to them, the better.'

Although Shen Bei, with his status as a Martial Artist, could dominate the entire gathering, they were still classmates, there to relax and rekindle friendships.

Naturally, he couldn't bully others with his power; he still had to maintain a normal mindset.

The taxi quickly arrived at the agreed-upon location. Shen Bei originally thought the private room would be full of people as soon as they entered, but to his surprise, he and Jian Tong were the first to arrive.

'That dog Wang Da Nao Dai, didn't he leave before us? How is he not here yet?'

Shen Bei and Jian Tong felt a bit awkward but had no choice but to sit there foolishly.

After sitting for about five minutes, a man with a large belly and round waist, guided by a waiter, entered the private room, accompanied by a demonic laugh.

Shen Bei laughed as soon as he saw him and immediately asked him, 'Are you Fat Dragon?'

He asked in surprise, 'You are… Fast-Hitting Cyclone Shen Bei?'

The two burst out laughing simultaneously.

After exchanging a few pleasantries, Fat Dragon went out to answer a call.

And Jian Tong asked, 'Who is that person?'

Shen Bei laughed and said, 'Speaking of this guy, it's a long story…'

'Fat Dragon has been a clown since he was a child. He's done everything except anything reliable.'

'When we were kids, we were pretty good friends. One year, when he was fifteen, he invited me to his house to play.'

'At that time, no one was home at Fat Dragon's place. This guy stole his dad's cigarettes and even imitated his dad's smoking posture. He was so damn good at it, truly vivid.'

'He pulled a melancholic Baisha cigarette from his dad's pack, tapped the filter on the table, and with a sad flick, a match lit up. It was as if it wasn't a match striking, but a man's youth passing by. He held the cigarette in his mouth, sat on the sofa, sometimes frowning, sometimes sighing, sometimes gazing deeply into the distance, with smoke swirling around his fingertips, portraying him as a man weathered by life.'

'Just then, his mom came home, which startled me, but Fat Dragon, not wanting to lose face in front of me, remained motionless on the sofa, looking at his mom calmly and contentedly, and said in a deep, hoarse voice, 'Fangzi, you're back so early…''

That was his first time being hospitalized.

The drink Jian Tong had just taken a sip of sprayed all over Shen Bei's face, and she was laughing so hard her eyes were rolling back.

Shen Bei was also rolling his eyes.

At this moment, a man walked into the private room. He was tall and thin, unsmiling, and as serious as if he were going to the hospital for a circumcision.

The laughing Jian Tong and the serious man formed a stark contrast. Shen Bei quickly cleared his throat, signaling Jian Tong to be mindful of the atmosphere.

Jian Tong asked in a confused whisper, 'Who is this person?'

Shen Bei whispered, 'I don't know either.'

Jian Tong said, 'You ask.'

So Shen Bei reluctantly forced a Churchill-like smile and asked the guy opposite him, 'May I ask who you are?'

The person calmly said, 'I am Zheng Qiuyi.'

Shen Bei almost choked on his water when he heard that name, coughing repeatedly.

Jian Tong gently patted Shen Bei's back to stop his coughing, asking in confusion, 'What's wrong? Who is this?'

I quickly told her, 'Shh, shh, don't talk.'

While Zheng Qiuyi was out using the restroom, Jian Tong nudged Shen Bei with her elbow, unable to resist asking again, 'Who was that person just now?'

Shen Bei said with a serious expression, 'Zheng Qiuyi, one of the most eccentric guys in my junior high class.'

Jian Tong asked, 'How eccentric?'

Shen Bei frankly said, 'This guy is truly a rare breath of fresh air in this restless society.'

'Back then, when Fat Dragon and I went to an illicit internet cafe on New Creation Internet Cafe Street to play games, I actually saw this guy there.'

'But he wasn't there to play games; he was watching Xinwen Lianbo (News Broadcast) in the internet cafe. As the international situation flashed across the screen, he would sometimes be solemn, sometimes angry, sometimes tearful, and sometimes sing triumphantly. This is probably what's called 'living in the wilderness, with the world in his heart.'

'Everything about him has always been a mystery. I only heard that he later went to the south to be a soldier. Once, in a restaurant, he saw a heavily tattooed 'kill-mat' (a type of subculture) leave without paying after eating. This guy, full of righteousness, rushed up and shattered the person's kidney. Who knew that person was the restaurant owner's son? So, he was sent back from the army. It's said that he's now changed careers and become an boss, opening an internet company, focusing on developing an online cupping app. As for other things, I don't know; I'm not very familiar with him.'

Jian Tong: …

Now Jian Tong more or less understood what Shen Bei meant: these junior high classmates were all eccentrics.

Many of Shen Bei's old classmates arrived at the private room one after another, all looking vibrant and dressed smartly, seemingly doing well for themselves.

They talked constantly about financing, policies, who was working where now, and who had gone to jail again.

Of course, Shen Bei was still the focus of the reunion, after all, he was one of the few Martial Artists in their junior high class, or rather, the most accomplished Martial Artist.

Naturally, everyone revolved around Shen Bei.

Shen Bei didn't put on airs; he ate, drank, and chatted as usual.

It was just that Jian Tong was a bit disappointed; the so-called 'sister-in-law' was nowhere to be found.

As everyone ate and drank, they suddenly heard a wild DJ slow shake from three hundred meters away. The speakers sang: 'Alone I drink and get drunk, taking a beautiful woman as my pair. My eyes follow her alone…'

Everyone smiled knowingly, knowing who had arrived.

Wang Da Nao Dai wore a gold chain around his neck that was larger than a spittoon, and the hair oil on his slicked-back hair was so abundant it could affect international oil prices. On this cold evening, he wore a tight short-sleeved shirt.

After this guy entered, he immediately became the center of attention at the dinner table, passing out cigarettes and urging people to drink, spewing saliva as he talked wildly, as if he knew half of what happened in heaven and almost everything that happened on earth. In the end, his face was red and his neck thick from drinking.

After the reunion ended, Wang Da Nao Dai got on his motorcycle. This guy was already swaying, but he insisted he wasn't drunk, waved to everyone, said they'd meet again next time, then stylishly slapped the subwoofer tied to the back of his bike, revved the engine three or five times, and then accelerated away.

Jian Tong burst out laughing and said to Shen Bei, 'Listen to what song I replaced in his subwoofer.'

Shen Bei didn't understand what she meant, then suddenly noticed Wang Da Nao Dai, who was driving far away, had his subwoofer playing his mom's 'Great Compassion Mantra'. This guy was even swaying along to it, making everyone laugh so hard they were falling over.

Just then, a group of people approached from a distance. The person leading them walked and cursed, 'Where did this damn idiot come from, playing the damn Great Compassion Mantra in the middle of the night? I thought Guanyin Bodhisattva was riding a Harley to save all sentient beings, making me kowtow from afar. Damn you.'

A rather uneventful junior high class reunion thus ended.

The classmates simply reconnected; no one begged Shen Bei for help.

Everyone's boundaries were very clear, which made Shen Bei feel comfortable.

The two slowly strolled home, walking along the road.

Little did they know, two pairs of eyes were watching Shen Bei from the shadows…
