614: Big brother, we are one!

Half a day passed in a flash, and the Ghost Ship floated on the calm sea. The ship was brightly lit, and the group of scoundrels under Shen Master's command had taken advantage of the time they could go ashore to spend lavishly. The aroma of wine drifted, and shouts and curses filled the air.

Shen Bei sat on the upper deck, sipping wine from a goblet. Ran Xiaoran knelt beside him, silently refilling Shen Bei's empty glass.

"Xiao Ran, do you think this ship's captain is an honest and good person?"

"Yes, Shen Master's character is indeed the best I've ever seen." Ran Xiaoran nodded as a matter of course. After all this time, Shen Bei was indeed the only one who didn't want her...

"You have excellent taste." Shen Bei laughed heartily, reaching out to pinch Ran Xiaoran's small face.

Suddenly, a shadow appeared on the horizon, connecting the sky and the earth. Shen Bei was startled, and after a careful look, he could barely make out that it seemed to be a pillar reaching to the sky.

"Scar, why are we back at the edge of the South Sea?"

"It's mostly deserted here, so it's safer. Anyone who comes this way uses the Town Sea Archway," Scar, who was drinking and bragging with someone, yelled back.

"Nonsense! Do you take me for blind? There are lights near that sky pillar, looks like several ships!"

As the ship moved forward, faint, flickering firefly-like lights could vaguely be seen on the horizon. In just a few breaths, those weak, blurry lights gradually became clear, and even the shadows of ships could be seen rapidly approaching.

The sound of large ships breaking through the waves was also faintly audible.

Scar walked to the side of the ship, his eyes shining with divine light. After a few glances, he immediately smashed the wine glass in his hand to the ground and kicked over the wine table.

"What are you all drinking for? Someone's approaching!" Scar was furious, looking up at the mast, his anger growing even stronger: "Where's the alert? Where are the people on the lookout post?"

The group fell into a chaotic scramble, preparing for a potential battle.

By this time, everyone had also seen three large ships approaching from the opposite direction.

One was a warship with a ram and a steel plate covering its surface. It was the fastest, flying a green flag with the words "Duan Kong" written in large characters, fluttering in the wind.

This was a ship belonging to Duan Kong of Kong Ming Island, and only core direct lineage members would fly a green flag with black characters.

The second looked like a normal sea vessel, with a relatively high freeboard and not much visible on the deck. Only a completely black flag hung from its mast.

This was a pirate ship. Flying a black flag indicated an unwillingness to fight and no ill intent.

The last was a three-masted tower ship. The part above the water alone had eight levels. The tower ship's surface was carved with Dragons and Phoenixes, and a layer of shimmering light emanated from it, making it look extremely magnificent. Unfortunately, this type of ship could only sail in the calm waters of the South Sea; it would almost certainly capsize in the Dead Sea.

Three ships, three groups of people, all sailing at high speed, not interfering with each other. After just two glances, a bad feeling arose in Shen Bei's heart: were they fleeing?

"Hard to starboard! Full speed ahead after we avoid them!"

The ship tilted, completing the turn at maximum speed. At that moment, Shen Bei also saw what was behind those three ships...

Headless Lanterns covered the sea, like a torrent, chasing the three ships. Beneath the surface, new Headless Lanterns continuously emerged.

"So many Headless Lanterns?" Shen Bei's expression changed. Only then did he clearly see that the vague lights he had dimly perceived earlier were actually Headless Lanterns.

But why were they running? Putting underpants on their heads would fool these Headless Lanterns; they just had to wait for them to disappear.

Just then, a Sword Light flew out from the tower ship, transforming into thousands of foot-long Sword Qi, converging into a Sword Qi storm. Each Sword Qi perfectly sliced a Headless Lantern in half, not a single Sword Qi wasted...

In the blink of an eye, thousands of Headless Lanterns stopped. The lanterns, cut in half, slowly converged and re-formed, only their glow appearing slightly dimmer.

Seeing this scene, everyone on the Ghost Ship seemed frozen in place, their faces stiff, their eyes terrified, and large beads of sweat dripping onto the deck.

"Accelerate! Accelerate! You fools, are you just standing there waiting to die!" Shen Bei roared in terror, personally controlling the Ghost Ship, urging it to leave.

With a roar, everyone woke up, then moved in perfect unison, pulling out their underpants and putting them on their heads, before getting to work.

"Scar, the legends, some are true, some are false, right?" Shen Bei's voice was a bit hoarse. Now he finally understood why old hands like Duan Kong and the pirates of the South Sea were fleeing in such panic; they couldn't possibly not know about the underpants trick...

"Captain, I think this time it might be true. The Headless Undead is about to appear..." Scar's face was pale, and he was stammering.

The Headless Lanterns on the sea gathered together. The faint light of their lanterns seemed to be collected by an invisible pair of hands, spreading across the sea like a sheet of orange flowing flames.

The calm sea began to churn, and the surging waves formed a giant whirlpool. All the Headless Lanterns were sucked into the whirlpool. Many Headless Lanterns had already disappeared, with the remaining ones continuously spinning with the whirlpool.

And at the center of the whirlpool, a trace of an ominous aura slowly emerged, growing stronger and stronger...

At this moment, the three ships had also encountered the Ghost Ship.

The pirate ship was the most cunning, accelerating to the side and rear of the Ghost Ship, slowly turning to escape. The tower ship, however, charged straight ahead, continuously accelerating.

By the time the Ghost Ship completed its turn, it was sailing alongside Duan Kong's ship.

On the deck of Duan Kong's ship, all the heroes had underpants on their heads. Shen Bei turned his head, gritting his teeth and shouting loudly: "What's the background of the bumpkins on that nouveau riche tower ship?"

"They're from the Great Wilderness." An old man in luxurious robes, with exquisitely embroidered underpants on his head, cupped his hands towards Shen Bei, the only one on the Ghost Ship without underpants on his head: "Brother, you truly are highly skilled and bold. If you can survive, I, Duan Chang Kong, will make you my friend!"

As his voice fell, Duan Kong's steel-plated ship also began to accelerate, choosing a direction to flee.

At this point, the whirlpool in the sea grew larger and spun faster and faster. The center of the whirlpool had already become a hollow passage.

A ten-foot-tall figure, burning with orange-red flames, bare-chested, and with a Headless Lantern on its head, emerged from within.

As this figure appeared, the seawater became inky black, as if stained with thick ink. Large numbers of fish in the sea floated to the surface, bellies up.

A fierce wind howled, and the waves surged. The stars and moon in the sky were obscured by black clouds, and an ominous and ferocious aura swept out like a storm.

"A Headless Undead..."

Shen Bei's face turned green. How could he be so unlucky? He specifically chose a sea area rumored to have few people, yet still encountered some idiot who brazenly destroyed Headless Lanterns, summoning a Headless Undead.

Just by sensing its aura, Shen Bei was 100% certain that this Headless Undead's strength was at least that of a Great Cultivator of Divine Power Realm.

After the Headless Undead, with a lantern on its neck, flew out of the sea, it took a step and instantly vanished from its original spot.

When it reappeared, it was already on the Ghost Ship, standing opposite Shen Bei.

The lightning protection Shen Bei activated had no effect.

In that critical moment, Shen Bei's gaze swept across the Headless Undead's chest, where two blood-colored crescent moons were carved, one on the left and one on the right. There was also a three-inch long scar on its lower right abdomen.

Shen Bei's expression changed. The next moment, one of the Headless Undead's hands appeared in front of his neck as if by teleportation.

Shen Bei immediately shouted: "Brother, we're on the same side!"
