157: I'll show you a trick

Shen Bei quickly joined the battlefield.

For the small fry Qiu Qianren brought, Shen Bei dealt with them swiftly.

He showed no mercy.

Wielding Qiu Qianren's blade, he charged directly into the fray.

It was a scene of 'one cut for tetanus, two for meeting ancestors, three for the King of Hell's smile.'

Clang, clatter.

With a raise and fall of his blade, heads flew.

Although these three Martial Artist students had no personal vendetta against Shen Bei, their intention was to assist Qiu Qianren in encircling him.

Shen Bei's Killing Intent was relentless.

He slaughtered them all!

Liao Zhongyang looked at the Martial Artist students, now cut in two, with some surprise, saying, "I thought... it was just to teach them a lesson."

Niu Yanben, with a bruised and swollen face, nodded: "Du Ziteng even shouted slogans about making their medical insurance cards run out of credit."

"Killing them was a bit..." Du Ziteng trailed off.

In their imagination, whether Shen Bei and Qiu Qianren had a life-or-death battle was their business.

But killing these Martial Artist students who were just doing a job for money, wasn't that a bit of an undeserved calamity, affecting innocent bystanders?

Shen Bei suppressed all his surging, violent, destructive desires, his aura gentle yet revealing a morbid madness: "If you don't kill those who should be killed, you'll suffer for it."

The three exchanged glances and shrugged.

"Where's Qi Chuanyu?" Shen Bei questioned.

He had just scanned the battlefield.

Besides the corpses of the Others, there were only the bodies of the three student Martial Artists; Qi Chuanyu was neither seen alive nor dead.

It was then that the three suddenly realized someone was indeed missing.

"Huh? I saw him spitting blood and fighting just a while ago."

"Could the battle have moved?"

"It seemed to head west."

Shen Bei raised an eyebrow, exhaling as he said, "Let's go, we must find him."

Shen Bei felt uneasy.

This was not the earth's surface, where one could call the police when in trouble.

The Dungeon! This was the Dungeon!

Not only did they face Dungeon creatures that appeared from time to time, but also Others, and Qi Chuanyu even had student Martial Artists with him!

Three-sided attack.

Coupled with unfamiliar terrain, at best, he might have run off to some unknown place.

At worst, he might have died a violent death in a foreign land.

Time was extremely pressing.

In the Dungeon, electronic communication was impossible, so they had no idea what Qi Chuanyu's situation was.

With Qi Chuanyu separated from Zha Tian Gang, he could die any second!

"Faster! Faster!"

Liao Zhongyang finally realized the seriousness of the matter and was the most anxious.

In Zha Tian Gang, Shen Bei was neutral.

Niu Yanben and Du Ziteng were on one side.

If Qi Chuanyu was gone, they wouldn't even win an argument in the future.

Immediately, Liao Zhongyang was the first to dash out, heading west.

Shen Bei and the others followed closely.

All the way west.

The sky was a murky purple-blue, the sun hung high like a fiery ball, its dazzling light bringing unbearable heat.

The terrain began to change, with vast, desolate hills and Gobi Desert appearing.

The air was filled with dust, and the wind stirred up 황갈색 clouds of it, like ancient specters wandering.

Along the way, Shen Bei and his companions also encountered many other students.

They kept asking around.

Indeed, some had seen Qi Chuanyu and a student chasing each other.

In the Dungeon, merely surviving was a great blessing; no one would get involved in others' disputes and troubles.

However, at least the outcome was trending positively.

At least Qi Chuanyu was still alive.

An hour ago, he was still alive...

However, Shen Bei had a question: even if the student Martial Artist couldn't beat Qi Chuanyu, he should have run south towards Qianjin Camp.

Why did he run west instead...

He couldn't figure it out.

By the time Shen Bei and his group officially reached the hills.

What greeted their eyes was a landscape of red hills, rolling and undulating, towering thousands of meters high, as if the earth's surface's waves were churning.

The sunlight poured over this land, staining every inch of the hills a deep red, like the embers after a raging fire.

Shen Bei found a trail of footprints leading into the valley.

"Catch."

Shen Bei tossed the double-edged blade in his hand to Du Ziteng.

Shen Bei had originally intended to sell it on the black market as a war trophy.

At least the Materials on the blade were all from the Dungeon and could be recycled and reused, worth some money, but carrying it was too much effort.

Du Ziteng looked disgusted and threw it to Niu Yanben: "I don't want a loser's stuff; if they lost, it's not good stuff anyway."

Shen Bei took the lead, scanning the surroundings, and said, "It's not a loser's stuff, you wouldn't be able to get it anyway."

Du Ziteng: ...

Niu Yanben threw the double-edged blade back: "Keep it, at least you can sell trash for some money, lest you attract enemies again."

Du Ziteng: ...

He had a certain expletive in mind, but wondered if he should utter it.

They continued deeper into the valley.

Their footsteps crunched on the gravel and sand, making a rustling sound.

The group walked for a full half-hour.

Passing a crossroads, surrounded by red hills, they felt as small as ants.

Shen Bei suddenly stopped, raising a hand to signal the others to halt, and cocked his head to listen.

Besides the wind, there was a faint rumbling sound.

Liao Zhongyang roared, "Left!"

"Charge!"

Shen Bei shouted, crossing the intersection of the mountain and turning left first.

When Shen Bei's vision cleared.

He was suddenly startled.

He slammed on the brakes and ran back.

"Go back! Goddammit, go back! Quick!"

Shen Bei grabbed Liao Zhongyang behind him, called out to Niu Yanben and Du Ziteng, and sprinted back to hide behind the mountain at the crossroads.

The others hadn't seen what was in the left valley and looked confused.

Something that could scare Shen Bei... it must be terrifying, right?

Liao Zhongyang looked at Shen Bei anxiously: "What's in there?"

Shen Bei swallowed, spreading his arms: "Two very large creatures! Scared the Hell out of me!"

The three, still bewildered, each climbed to the edge of the mountain, one high, one middle, one low, and looked into the left valley.

That one glance...

The three nearly wet themselves!

They saw.

About three kilometers away on the distant horizon, dark clouds shattered, and sunlight streamed down, as if the sky had torn open.

And beneath the dark clouds, within the valley, two dark figures constantly entangled and chased each other.

They were two monstrous beasts, the size of mountains of flesh; the one in the lead had bat wings on its back, was entirely black, and had six sharp claws, with countless large and small wounds all over its body, constantly splattering blood into the air, seemingly seriously injured, as if desperately trying to evade something.

The other was as large as a passenger jet, with imposing horns and four wings that stirred up winds and changed the color of the sky with each flap.

"Caw, caw!"

Everyone watched the beast battle, their hearts filled with shock.

They saw.

The mountain-like Black Bat Giant Beast, after fierce entanglement and pursuit, was now severely wounded.

Countless large and small scars covered its chest and abdomen, and large amounts of dark blue blood continuously rained down from the sky, as if a torrential downpour had begun.

Half of its six extremely sharp claws were already gone, seemingly torn off by the Four-Winged Night Dragon, and even one of its bat wings was riddled with holes and tattered beyond recognition.

Yet, despite such horrific injuries, this Black Bat Giant Beast could never shake off the Four-Winged Night Dragon behind it, and new wounds constantly appeared on its body.

Roar!

Finally seizing an opportunity, the Four-Winged Night Dragon's fleshy wings suddenly stirred up the roar of thousands of wind Dragons, its lantern-sized eyes filled with cruelty, and its gaping maw suddenly opened. Accompanied by a muffled roar, a dark, deathly breath, like the fire of Hell, spewed forth!

In an instant, a rolling torrent of black fire swept across the sky, shattering the fragmented dark clouds, as if heavenly fire was consuming the plains.

However, the desperately fleeing Black Bat Giant Beast seemed to feel an immense crisis as well, and suddenly let out an extremely sharp shriek from its mouth, as if tearing the very sky apart!

Buzz!

From the Black Bat Giant Beast's body, ripples visible to the naked eye suddenly spread out, and the sky seemed like a calm lake disturbed by ripples, instantly clearing all remaining dark clouds within a radius of several kilometers.

And as the ripples spread, the black breath spewed by the Four-Winged Night Dragon was immediately distorted and dispersed, its lethality greatly reduced.

And when the ripples spreading in the Void Realm impacted the Four-Winged Night Dragon's body, it also let out a painful and angry roar, its pursuit in mid-air momentarily halted!

The rumbling and terrifying roars were incessant, and the sky in their line of sight was churned, changing the very colors of heaven and earth's surface. This astonishing power shook the hearts and minds of everyone on the defense line.

"This power... Damn it!"

Du Ziteng pulled his head back, his face filled with terror: "The rank is hard to estimate, but it's probably above eighth rank. It's not something our small arms and legs can get involved in."

"Two giant beasts fighting each other." Niu Yanben stroked his chin, continuing: "Are you sure Qi Chuanyu is in this direction? Or should we take another path?"

Shen Bei looked up.

Straight ahead was a dead end.

The right valley was a cliff, probably thousands of meters deep.

This could only mean that Qi Chuanyu also took the left valley.

Liao Zhongyang looked at Shen Bei anxiously: "What should we do?"

Shen Bei unfolded the map.

His gaze swept over it.

Calculating by the scale, Shen Bei came to a startling conclusion:

"We are now 60 kilometers from Qianjin Camp... 30 kilometers beyond the safe zone."

"The closest city to us is Qianlin City, still 40 kilometers away."

Du Ziteng cursed: "Damn it, you said I attracted enemies, but this Qi Chuanyu ran into the enemy's den!"

It should be known that the school designated a relatively safe "safe zone" for students, within a 30-kilometer fan radius from Qianjin Camp.

And the group was currently in completely uncontrollable territory.

"Wait a minute—" Niu Yanben pointed to the northwest corner of Shen Bei's map, asking: "Why is your map different from ours? This location on my map is unknown, but why is it marked on yours?"

"Did you place a ward to clear the fog of war?" Du Ziteng asked curiously.

Shen Bei put away the map, coughed: "That question isn't important."

"What's important is..."

"I'm going to confront those two giant beasts blocking our path forward."

Liao Zhongyang: !!!

Niu Yanben: !!!

Du Ziteng: ????
