388: Dedicated flight, high-quality treatment

As the first stop in the Xing Sha Dungeon, Forward Camp is humanity's largest base in this dungeon.

It is also the most densely frequented place for Martial Artists.

Most of Shen Bei's missions were received here.

He was busy for quite a while, clearing all sorts of bounty missions.

He just had to wait for the panel to settle tomorrow.

When Shen Bei left Forward Camp, passed through the dungeon passage, and returned to earth's surface, the sun had just set.

In the distance, a large silhouette of a city looked like a sleeping giant beast, sprawled on the horizon, appearing even larger and more magnificent than the Changtu Grotto.

The dungeon entrance remained, with dense buildings, towering skyscrapers, grand and spectacular. The city's outer defense perimeter also had watchtowers and bunkers regularly distributed, forming a comprehensive network of firepower, implicitly giving the entire massive city a formidable aura.

Only a sliver of blood-red sunset lingered in the sky, leaving a hint of cruel beauty in this world.

Many Martial Artists were still coming and going, exploring the riches within the dungeon.

At this time, Zhuang Bifan was already waiting by the roadside in a car.

As soon as Shen Bei got in, he heard Zhuang Bifan's incessant complaints: "Damn it, it's really a pain in the ass. The Middle Military Region is purely disgusting."

"What's wrong?" Shen Bei looked back at Gu Jiu, tightening the ropes and long nails on him, and after ensuring everything was secure, he turned to Zhuang Bifan: "Is the Middle Military Region trying to snatch someone?"

Zhuang Bifan floored the accelerator and said in a muffled voice: "If they had said they wanted to snatch Gu Jiu, I would've slapped them. But they didn't say they wanted him; they just said there were no planes tonight and that 'abnormal people' are too dangerous and should be kept under their supervision."

"Bullshit."

Shen Bei knew without thinking what the Middle Military Region was planning.

If Zhuang Bifan were foolish enough to hand over Gu Jiu for supervision, Gu Jiu would surely have arrived in the capital by tonight.

What would be left for Shen Bei and the others then?

He'd probably get a good scolding from Bai Wei later.

"Let's stay in a hotel tonight. The plane Bai Wei sent leaves in the morning; we're not taking their damn plane."

"Tomorrow, no matter what, we'll go back to Shen City first."

...

Traveling through Xingsha City.

The two found a hotel.

Logically speaking, Gu Jiu, this abnormal person in a sack, certainly couldn't check into a hotel.

But Zhuang Bifan's brilliance lay in his ability to make a big deal out of nothing.

He slapped down his Military ID, then began to spout a torrent of words, from national righteousness to the sentiments of ordinary people, a string of witty remarks that completely bewildered the front desk girl, who immediately opened a room.

Shen Bei sighed, always feeling that Zhuang Bifan's bragging skills were misplaced. If he used them to pick up girls, he would surely succeed.

"Two rooms," Zhuang Bifan said, winking.

Shen Bei immediately extended his hand: "One room."

The front desk girl tilted her head, her gaze scanning back and forth between them.

Zhuang Bifan was startled, then whispered: "This is a business trip, reimbursed by the Military Region. Why open one room? Isn't it cramped?"

Shen Bei said coldly: "Come on, that self-righteous tone just irritates me. Ten years ago, my cousin and I went on a trip out of town. That night, he told me in a tone even more self-righteous than yours: 'Cousin, we're not children anymore; we can't sleep together like when we were little. Let's get two rooms, I'll stay next door to you.'"

Zhuang Bifan asked: "And then?"

Shen Bei said: "Then the next day, he was taken away by the vice squad."

Shen Bei, the old driver, suddenly drifted, catching Zhuang Bifan off guard, almost throwing him off Mount Akina.

Zhuang Bifan's face flushed for a moment, then he snorted: "Then one room it is."

...

Back in the hotel room.

After placing Gu Jiu flat on the bed and securing him, Zhuang Bifan breathed a sigh of relief: "If no one tries to steal him, there should be no problem."

Shen Bei sat on the sofa and chuckled: "No one would dare, are they crazy?"

Zhuang Bifan shrugged, then lay down on the bed, half-asleep and about to doze off.

After showering, Shen Bei came out and said: "We're not in the dungeon now, don't you shower at night?"

Zhuang Bifan said unhappily: "I didn't know I'd be out for so long, my clean underwear ran out ages ago. What's the point of washing if it's just to get dirty again?"

Shen Bei pointed to the cabinet under the TV and said: "They sell them in there, 59 yuan a pair."

Zhuang Bifan cursed: "Damn it, 59 yuan for a pair of crappy underwear! Why don't they just reach into my pants and steal it!"

"Ask the front desk for an invoice and get it reimbursed by the Military Region."

Zhuang Bifan's mouth twitched, and he said: "Think about it, when a pair of underwear appears on the reimbursement slip, what kind of expression will Bai Wei have?"

Shen Bei stroked his chin, then corrected himself: "Change it to 'consumables'?"

Zhuang Bifan fell silent at that.

Hotel consumables... weren't those adult balloons!

"Bad idea."

Zhuang Bifan mumbled, tore off the tag of the exorbitantly priced underwear, and sheepishly entered the bathroom.

Showering is the most magical thing in the world.

Before you shower, you desperately don't want to go in; after you shower, you desperately don't want to come out.

Pouring that scalding hot water over your head, it's just so refreshing, you wish time could stop at that moment.

But when Zhuang Bifan snapped out of the shower's bliss, he suddenly noticed Shen Bei's face pressed against the translucent glass, peeking inside with shifty eyes, chuckling to himself as he watched.

Zhuang Bifan was so angry he burst out cursing: "Shen Bei, what the hell are you doing! Are you going to let me shower or not! Meeting you is like seeing a ghost!"

Shen Bei laughed heartily: "I just wanted to see if this glass was really opaque, haha!"

Zhuang Bifan's good mood was completely ruined by Shen Bei. He didn't even want to shower anymore, so he just hastily smeared some soap on himself, got dressed, and walked out of the bathroom fuming.

Shen Bei was still laughing, and Zhuang Bifan didn't know what he found so funny.

He asked Shen Bei unhappily: "I say, Bei Bei, is there something wrong with your head? I'm not Liu Yifei or Gao Yuanyuan, what's there to peek at? Besides, if you're going to peek, why are you laughing?"

Shen Bei covered his mouth, laughing so hard he was almost cramping, and said: "Hey, Old Bi, let me ask you, shouldn't a man's silhouette be a ' predict' shape? Why do you look like a '1' shape? Is that thing of yours really that small?"

Zhuang Bifan's entire face turned dark.

He walked to the balcony, lit a melancholic Da Qian Men cigarette, and the thick smoke brought tears to his eyes.

Zhuang Bifan was very calm.

He was only considering two questions:

Should he drive home?

Should he kill Shen Bei, then commit suicide?

...

The night passed uneventfully.

After dawn.

The two were still half-asleep when Zhuang Bifan's phone rang. Bai Wei notified them that the plane had arrived at the airport and they should prepare to board.

Zhuang Bifan nudged Shen Bei.

The two slowly washed and dressed.

They even went for a free breakfast.

After all, it was a private plane; it definitely wouldn't take off until they arrived.

There was nothing to rush for anyway.

The two helped Gu Jiu into the car.

Half an hour later, they arrived at the airport.

They didn't go through the ticket gate.

They drove directly into the airport, got out, and escorted Gu Jiu onto the plane.

"Three hours to Shen City."

The pilot announced.

The plane then taxied onto the runway and soared into the sky.

And Shen Bei's settlement panel began to refresh data densely!
