615: Diverting trouble to others

Just at this critical moment.

Shen Bei suddenly shouted, “Big Brother, we’re on the same side!”

Generally speaking, when these words are shouted, anyone would hesitate and fall into thought, digging deep into their memory to see if they truly knew the person.

The Headless Undead immediately stopped, and the ominous black Qi on its body began to swirl violently. The Lantern on its neck also flickered on and off, with increasing frequency.

A drop of cold sweat trickled down Shen Bei’s forehead. After watching for a few breaths, he finally confirmed that the Headless Undead seemed to have fallen into deep thought.

The group of scoundrels in their underwear on the Ghost Ship were all like frightened quails, not daring to breathe. The crew members who lived long had their own methods for self-preservation.

At this moment, it was clear that their Captain had bluffed the Headless Undead, and a glimmer of hope had appeared.

“Don’t move, the Captain is starting his bluff!” Scarface lowered his voice, letting out a muffled growl from his throat.

Scarface didn’t believe Shen Bei knew any Headless Undead.

If not for his own Popular Science (popular science/explanation), Shen Bei wouldn't even know such a thing existed in the sea.

Not to mention, Shen Bei was merely a Divine-Grade Cultivator.

This rank might allow him to dominate on the earth's surface, but in the sea, which was getting closer to the Great Wilderness, it was still a bit insufficient.

The crew members on the ship naturally knew that moving now would only attract attention and was purely seeking death. The early bird gets killed first, a truth that countless lives had already verified.

Even the usually gluttonous Hei Pi had become well-behaved, clutching his head and trembling on the deck with his butt sticking up.

The Headless Undead stood still, and Shen Bei pursed his lips, not daring to speak rashly either.

The three words “we’re on the same side” had probably not been spoken to him for a very, very long time.

His head was gone, his body was filled with an ominous aura, and inside, Death Qi and vitality intertwined, giving an extremely bizarre feeling, like a monster constantly shifting between life and death.

Fortunately, with his head gone and his Divine Soul absent, his intelligence was probably pitifully low, akin to a beast.

Just a fleeting glance earlier, in desperation, Shen Bei had tried shouting.

Even though the Headless Undead’s strength was unfathomable, and Shen Bei couldn't see it clearly at all, at least he had bluffed him.

By this point, Shen Bei was also a bit flustered, with no clear plan for what to do next.

According to Scarface, the Headless Undead was one of the powerful individuals who followed the Burial Sea Secret Lord back then, and he was the Burial Sea Secret Lord’s most trusted personal attendant. The two blood-colored crescent moons on his chest were his most prominent feature, and these Blood Moons themselves were formed by condensed Divine Ability.

As for the mark on his lower right abdomen, that was where the Blood Moon Death Servant suffered a fatal blow in life, pierced through the heart by a Sword Cultivator, extinguishing his vitality.

As for which Sword Cultivator killed him, Scarface didn't know, but Shen Bei seemed to understand; it should have been Wu Bi'an.

And the so-called Sword Cultivator was merely a term used in the underground caves; the earth's surface did not inherit or learn this classification.

There was no real need for it. If you held a sword and called yourself a Sword Cultivator, would you not use your fists if the sword was gone?

Therefore, such convoluted classifications were directly removed from the Martial Artist system on the earth's surface.

But the Headless Undead was not a pure Human Race, and his body structure was different from humans; his lower right abdomen was where his heart was located.

And according to Scarface, not long after the Blood Moon Death Servant’s vitality was extinguished, the Burial Sea Secret Lord also perished. He then used a secret technique to transform himself into an ominous tomb guardian, faithfully guarding the Burial Sea Secret Lord’s tomb from the outside.

In the past, the Blood Moon Death Servant was highly respected by those below him. Not only was his strength formidable, but more importantly, he was deeply trusted by the Burial Sea Secret Lord.

As for why he had now become a Headless Undead and appeared here, Shen Bei was also completely confused.

However, he did have a bold guess: the entrance to the Burial Sea Secret Lord’s tomb was nearby.

And it was within a certain barrier!

If the entrance to One-Blade Gorge was near the Great Wilderness, even if the Blood Moon Death Servant neglected his duty, he couldn't have run all the way here.

A distance of hundreds of thousands of miles couldn't be crossed so easily. At least, the entrance to the Burial Sea Dao Lord’s tomb could not possibly be chosen in a tattered barrier.

Like the isolated island barrier, a penetrated crack was absolutely impossible.

But no matter what, the immediate crisis had to be resolved first.

At the same time, Shen Bei was secretly cursing.

Damn it.

There wasn't just his ship on the sea.

There wasn't just him as a crew member on the Ghost Ship. Why did the Headless Undead target him specifically?

This was unscientific!

Could it be because he was handsome?

That would be even more unscientific.

Just at this moment.

“Crack…” A crisp cracking sound echoed. The Lantern on the Blood Moon Death Servant’s neck developed cracks, then shattered into dust, dissipating into nothingness.

The sudden change jolted Shen Bei’s thoughts back.

The Blood Moon Death Servant’s neck was empty, the cut smooth and clean. It was clear that his head had been severed after death, once the Qi and blood had stopped flowing.

The Blood Moon on his chest slowly shifted position. He stretched out his hand and, in the center of his sternum, used a fingernail to draw a bloody line. The bloodline slowly spread to both sides, and a hollow eye emerged within, staring silently at Shen Bei.

Shen Bei felt a chill down his spine, feeling as if his entire being had been seen through.

“Who are you? I don’t remember knowing you.”

A dry, hoarse voice, tinged with madness, appeared in everyone’s mind.

Shen Bei swallowed. As a Northeasterner from the earth's surface, influenced by the “selling crutches,” “selling cars,” and “selling stretchers” skits, bluffing came naturally to him: “Big Brother, it’s only natural that you don’t recognize me, but I recognize you!”

The Blood Moon Death Servant’s eyeball rotated.

It gave off a strong sense of “you continue, I’m listening.”

Shen Bei said calmly, “I, your humble brother, immensely admire the Burial Sea Secret Lord. In the secret records, I saw the deeds of the Burial Sea Secret Lord, and while I revered him to the extreme, I also hated Wu Bi'an, that old schemer, and wished him a terrible end!”

At this moment, Scarface and the other crew members were stunned upon hearing the name Wu Bi'an.

Who the hell was that?

Would mentioning this person’s name really work?

“Wu Bi'an…” The Blood Moon Death Servant was silent for a moment, as if he had even forgotten this person.

But soon, the Blood Moon Death Servant’s anger surged. The mere spread of his aura was enough to make Shen Bei unable to lift his head, let alone the others, whose knees went weak.

“Yes! You see, I even excavated this fellow’s tomb and completely annihilated his remains.”

Saying this, Shen Bei pulled out a personal item of Wu Bi'an’s that he had obtained from Wu Bi'an’s tomb.

It was a pendant.

This pendant was not a wondrous item, nor was it anything important; it was purely an ornament.

The Blood Moon Death Servant recognized the item: “It seems you truly are one of us.”

Someone who could excavate Wu Bi'an’s tomb, the Blood Moon Death Servant was also avenged.

Their positions naturally aligned.

In truth, it was only because the Headless Undead’s mind was damaged and he couldn’t think too deeply.

If it were anyone else, just because Shen Bei had Wu Bi'an’s personal item, would that prove he had dug up his tomb and annihilated his remains?

This was questionable.

But how could the Headless Undead think so deeply? Whatever Shen Bei bluffed, that’s how it was.

“Then, what are you doing here?” the Headless Undead asked.

“The resting place of Lord Burial Sea Secret Lord has been discovered by others. They all wish to disturb the Lord’s slumber. I naturally cannot stand by and watch; I must stop them!”

“Who?”

Shen Bei’s mind stirred, and he naturally thought of the multi-story ship from before.

If not for the idiots on board, who knew nothing and shattered too many Headless Lanterns and Headless Undeads, the Headless Undead would not have appeared.

He was purely taking the blame for someone else.

But.

Damn it, it was always him making others take the blame. When did someone ever manage to trick him and make him take the blame?

“In that direction, there’s an eight-story ship; it’s them!” Shen Bei said with a determined look, as unshakeable as stating an undeniable truth.

“It’s them, and there’s a Sword Cultivator on board, a very powerful Sword Cultivator!”

Shen Bei emphasized the words “Sword Cultivator.”

Indeed…

Upon hearing the words “Sword Cultivator,” a cold light flashed in the Blood Moon Death Servant’s single eye. The bit of rationality he had so painstakingly gathered immediately seemed on the verge of collapsing.

“Boom!”

A wave of Qi surged, and Shen Bei was sent flying backward.

By the time Shen Bei regained his footing and looked again, the Blood Moon Death Servant had already vanished.
