11: Second property panel

The scene shifted, and Lin Yue felt as if he was floating in the air. Before him, on a massive altar, stood a man in a black dragon robe. His figure was imposing, and he wore an emperor’s crown with a bronze longsword hanging from his waist. Even just his back exuded immense pressure!

In front of him stood black royal banners, seemingly immersed in a black ocean, with large golden characters for 'Qin' proclaiming the identity of this army.

The Army of Great Qin!

The imposing man slowly turned, his imperial crown obscuring his face. Even so, it made Lin Yue’s heart tremble. As the man raised the longsword in his hand and pointed it at Lin Yue, a million black-armored soldiers below the altar erupted in a roar like a mountain collapsing and a tsunami!

Then the scene went black, and when it brightened, Lin Yue was already in the Military Camp.

Is this The First Emperor, Ying Zheng?

Listening to the roar still echoing in his ears, his heart continued to pound violently. Lin Yue calmed himself, sat up, and continued to cultivate the Killing God Art.

Leaning on a mountain, the mountain will fall. Only by possessing strength himself is truly reliable.

Daybreak came, but the attribute panel still showed no change.

Lin Yue thought for a moment, ate a simple meal, and then went to find the Military Marquis and the Record Keeper, to see if he could go out and seek some opportunities.

The Military Marquis was very straightforward and granted every request from this lucky star.

Upon learning that Lin Yue wanted to take leave, he readily agreed with a wave of his hand and even offered to let Lin Yue pick a team to protect him. Lin Yue politely declined and then went to find the Record Keeper.

As for why he didn't mention the players attacking Heyecheng, firstly, he currently had no way to meet the highest-ranking officer, and even if he met the Commander, his words would be too insignificant for anyone to believe him.

Moreover, he had no way to verify the information. He couldn't possibly expose the fact that he was also a player!

Secondly, in the current Great Qin Army, no one could imagine that rebels would dare to attack a city of the Government. The Heyecheng garrison numbered ten thousand; without ten times that many troops, how could they capture the city!

Idiots were not nonexistent, but no one would believe that a small Heyecheng would have a hundred thousand idiots.

When he saw the Record Keeper again, the Record Keeper was all smiles and beaming. Before Lin Yue could even finish speaking, the Record Keeper quickly drafted the document. Lin Yue cupped his fists in a salute and walked out of the Military Camp, but the Record Keeper called him back.

“Your identity document. Since I saw you here, I don’t need to send it myself,” the Record Keeper said.

“Thank you, Record Keeper,” Lin Yue took the identity document and held it in his hand.

【Ding! Because the image on the identity document perfectly matches the player, the second panel system has been activated!】

【Congratulations to the player for obtaining the second panel: Lin Yue】

【Players can switch panels at will. The attributes and equipment of both panels are interchangeable, and the attribute values of the sub-panel can be set arbitrarily (Note: cannot exceed the main panel’s attribute values)】

【Please select your main panel: Lin Yue or Lin Yue】

“Lin Yue, Qiu Shan Yue,” Lin Yue murmured to himself.

【Successfully set player’s main panel to Lin Yue! Wishing the player a pleasant game!】

Lin Yue looked at the two different attribute panels and roughly understood their function.

Simply put, it meant he had an additional character panel. For example, although Great Qin previously recognized him as Lin Yue, when he traded with others or sent messages, the game system always displayed 'Lin Yue'.

Now that he had two panels, he could entirely be Lin Yue in Great Qin and Lin Yue outside. The system could display two names and two panels.

Although those who knew him would still recognize him at a glance,

it could prevent some players from using special abilities like the Art of Recognizing People to observe Lin Yue’s panel attributes and discover that his name was different from what was displayed on the panel. Now, even if someone used the Art of Recognizing People on him, he wouldn’t be exposed!

Now he was even more suited to being a hidden schemer!

“Lin Yue!” The Record Keeper patted his shoulder, and he snapped back to reality.

“What’s wrong?”

“What are you thinking about? I just said that a group of bandits attacked Xiao Cang Village last night. All one thousand villagers, not a single one survived.” The Record Keeper’s expression was a little heavy.

“Xiao Cang Village?”

“It’s fine, I haven’t had any family for a long time,” Lin Yue murmured.

“Then, then that’s really good. It didn’t affect you,” the Record Keeper said, a little surprised, but then immediately regretted it. How could he have forgotten this?

“Then this Subordinate will take his leave first,” Lin Yue cupped his hands and exited.

He didn’t know if this was a system setting or just a coincidence, but now in the game, he was Lin Yue, and no one would ever see through this identity!

...Unlike the Qin Dynasty in Lin Yue’s impression, Great Qin in the game was very commercially developed. Shops were not state-owned but privately run, with no less than a thousand shops in Heyecheng alone.

Lin Yue walked around with his horse, browsing. His daily routine, besides cultivation, was killing bandits, and he hadn’t yet seen the bustling scene of Heyecheng. Taking leave today and dressed in civilian clothes, he truly looked like a jade-like gentleman among the fields, naturally attracting much attention in this small border town.

“I still have 20 taels of silver in my backpack. What can I buy?” Lin Yue mumbled to himself.

Lin Yue walked and stopped, and suddenly, an old man in ragged clothes lying on a donkey cart by the street caught his attention. On the cart, a signboard was stuck, and beside it, a middle-aged Taoist priest knelt, fanning the old man.

The signboard read: “Observing the Star River for a hundred thousand years, calculating all past and future for a million years!”

Horizontal inscription: “Divine Calculation!”

The strange combination of the two made people curious. Lin Yue watched for a long time from the side. He truly couldn't connect “Divine Calculation” with the disheveled old man before him.

Yet, the Qin People on the street seemed oblivious to the arrogant words on the signboard, with no one showing disdain or mockery. This was very unusual.

“Could it be an NPC set by the game? Or a player?” Lin Yue guessed.

But he knew well that one shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. After all, if he could enter the city, others might also have encountered a fortuitous event to enter the city.

Thinking of this, Lin Yue walked to the donkey cart, bowed, and then softly sang.

“Loving you walking alone in the dark alley?”

The old man grumbled a few words in a low voice, looking as if his sweet dream had been disturbed. He slowly sat up, opening his cloudy eyes.

“What did you say?”

“Loving you walking alone in the dark alley?” Lin Yue sang softly again.

The old man looked at Lin Yue with confusion, not understanding.

It seems he’s not a player. After all, someone his age couldn’t possibly not have heard this song.

“Elder, may I ask if you are a fortune-teller?” Lin Yue asked awkwardly, rubbing his nose.

“If I’m not a fortune-teller, then are you?!”

The old man’s sudden outburst left Lin Yue at a loss. The middle-aged Taoist priest beside the old man gave him an apologetic smile and asked, “Young master, what do you wish to have calculated?”

Lin Yue was still not entirely sure. It seemed he shouldn’t be a native resident, as native residents naturally had a +30 favorability towards him and wouldn't be this irritable.

If he were a player, a player of this age couldn’t possibly be indifferent to this song!

Lin Yue had been watching him just now, and his reaction was definitely not that of someone who had heard the song before!

Not a native resident, not a player, then what was he?

An error code?

“Elder, may I ask if you are a fortune-teller?”

To verify his guess, Lin Yue asked again.

“Are you sick?”

The old man looked strangely at the middle-aged Taoist priest, then looked at Lin Yue and asked.

Not an error code either!

Could it be a reclusive master from a novel!

At this moment, he was absolutely certain!

“Elder, this junior has come admiring your reputation and wishes for a reading,” Lin Yue bowed and saluted.

“Young man, what do you wish to have calculated?” the old man asked discontentedly.

“Fortune!”

Lin Yue said, without the slightest hint of dissatisfaction. What a joke, what kind of reclusive master would he be without a bit of temper!

The old man squinted at him, picked his nose, and then flicked it aside.

“Great misfortune is about to befall you!”
