382: I can't get in, give me a push
Unlike the bustling Hou City, the streets within Xinchang County were somewhat quiet.
“Clatter… clatter…”
Wheels pressed against the bluestone road, traversing the night. The carriage was exquisite and elegant, and the two tall, powerful warhorses were clearly not ordinary. A burly man acted as the coachman.
The patrolling Soldiers, seeing this situation, didn't bother to invite trouble for themselves; they all pretended not to see anything.
Inside the carriage, Zhao Bo looked at the various pieces of intelligence on the letter, his expression turning somewhat sinister: “Li Chengliang is going to Hou City to attend the ceremony of Earl Lin Yue? Lin Yue? Earl?”
Then, with a grim face, he asked, “Šurhaci, how much longer until we arrive?”
Šurhaci gritted his teeth and replied, “What's the rush? There's still half an incense stick's time.”
“Hurry up,” Zhao Bo urged.
“Got it,” Šurhaci muttered a silent curse. He knew perfectly well what Zhao Bo was going to do. Immediately, his pace unknowingly slowed a little.
Zhao Bo pulled out a small porcelain bottle from his in arms, poured out a small blue pill, and judging that the time was about right, swallowed it whole.
These past few days, Šurhaci had been practically glued to him, like a plaster, giving him no opportunity to sneak a bite, which left his lust nowhere to vent.
Fortunately, Qi Ya had secretly sent a letter today, saying that Li Rupo had been confined to bed for several days, and she returned to her room early every day. She had already investigated the situation and invited Zhao Bo to meet when he had time!
Zhao Bo's lips curved into a smile. He lit the letter and then tossed it out of the carriage through the curtain.
Then he closed his eyes and waited, a faint spark of desire already igniting in his heart. Yet, for some unknown reason, he always felt that the journey to the rendezvous was long.
Time passed minute by minute. Zhao Bo suddenly lifted the curtain!
Then he looked left and right: “Šurhaci, this isn't the right way, is it?”
Šurhaci flinched at the question but still retorted stubbornly, “What's wrong with it? This is the way to Li Rupo’s place.”
“We clearly walked this road just now, didn't we? Are you taking me in circles?” Zhao Bo asked, frowning.
“No, you're mistaken,” Šurhaci said, feeling a bit guilty but still sticking to his story: “I’ve been here with my elder brother many times before. I know these roads like the back of my hand!”
Zhao Bo smiled upon hearing this, “Šurhaci, why bother? What’s meant to happen will happen.”
Šurhaci said guiltily, “What are you talking about? I don’t understand.”
“Heh heh, if you truly care for Qi Ya, you should respect her choice, not hinder her from seeing me,” Zhao Bo said with a smile.
“I didn’t,” Šurhaci said in a deep voice, “Qi Ya is blinded by your appearance. Sooner or later, she will discover your true colors and leave you!”
“Šurhaci, let me tell you something from the heart,” Zhao Bo couldn't help but sigh upon seeing his attitude.
“Speak. I want to see what pearls of wisdom you can utter from your dog’s mouth,” Šurhaci said with disdain.
“Let go. Even if she leaves me, she won’t choose you,” Zhao Bo said seriously.
“Heh heh, Qi Ya won’t. I believe her,” Šurhaci said firmly.
“Believe it or not,” Zhao Bo pouted. Good advice is wasted on the doomed. Since Šurhaci was so stubborn, why should he say more?
Thinking of this, Zhao Bo sat back in the carriage.
But then the carriage braked suddenly, and Zhao Bo lurched forward.
“What, are you angry?” Zhao Bo rubbed his head and laughed.
“We’re here,” Šurhaci said in a deep voice.
Zhao Bo looked at the tall wall ahead and stepped down from the carriage.
“Wait for me here. Don’t wander off,” Zhao Bo said with a smile.
Šurhaci did not respond.
“Is there anything you want me to tell Qi Ya?” Zhao Bo asked again.
Šurhaci pondered for a long time, then finally said, “Tell Qi Ya not to be afraid or worried. I will always be waiting for her here. If there’s any danger, she can run here at any time.”
Zhao Bo suppressed a laugh, took two small steps forward, and then leaped up!
“Bang!”
A faint sound rang out. Zhao Bo, covered in dust, walked back and said with a sheepish smile:
“Šurhaci, push me hard, otherwise I can’t get in.”
Šurhaci, hearing this, looked impatient and silently cursed him as a 'pretty boy with no substance'. He then stepped forward and said:
“Go!”
Then he pushed Zhao Bo hard. Zhao Bo, using the momentum, leaped directly over the tall wall and flipped to the other side.
“Be gentle with Qi Ya, she’s afraid of pain…”
Šurhaci whispered, but no one responded to him. The surroundings returned to silence, with only a few cicadas chirping.
Šurhaci stamped his foot in anger, regretting that he hadn't spoken sooner. He sighed and sat back in the carriage!
...Inside Li Rupo’s mansion, all was quiet.
This mansion was Li Rupo’s old residence. Ever since he was transferred to Xinchang County, he had lived here with Li Rumei.
Within this five-courtyard mansion, there were a hundred Armored Soldiers, all household retainers of the Li family, responsible for their safety.
“Creak…”
Qi Ya pushed open the door and walked out gracefully.
The Soldiers on guard around her swallowed hard, then silently lowered their heads, not daring to look again.
Just yesterday, it was this young woman who told the Second Young Master that she felt someone watching her at night. In a fit of anger, the Second Young Master directly transferred all the household retainers next to her courtyard and gave each of them ten planks!
Now, those dozen or so brothers still hadn't gotten out of bed!
He didn't want to get involved in such unprovoked disaster!
And Qi Ya, having just finished feeding Li Rupo his medicine and handing the medicine bowl to the physician waiting outside the door, walked towards her own courtyard. A smile played on her lips, clearly in a good mood.
This scene was captured by a household retainer who had just looked up, his gaze fixed, unwilling to move away!
“What the hell are you doing!”
Just as his mind was swaying, the Centurion in charge of them appeared before him, he knew not when.
“This Subordinate is on guard,” the household retainer said, feeling a bit guilty.
The Squad Leader cursed in a low voice, “I told you to stand guard, not for your brother to stand guard.”
The household retainer lowered his head, feeling somewhat embarrassed.
The Centurion cursed in a low voice, disappointed:
“Are you out of your mind? You dare provoke this woman? Don’t you know she’s the Second Young Master’s darling?”
“This Subordinate knows his mistake!” the household retainer responded with a cupped-hand salute.
The Centurion said nothing more upon hearing this, merely flicked his sleeves and left.
He still had to follow Qi Ya. Every time Qi Ya came out of the Second Young Master’s room, that was when he was most on edge!
He was afraid that some brother would be ensnared by her!
One must know that when Qi Ya cried, that was when their brothers suffered!
Only after following Qi Ya from a distance to her courtyard did the Centurion finally breathe a sigh of relief and depart.
And Qi Ya, returning to her room, closed the door. Then she took off her clothes and changed into a thin gauze dress.
The moonlight, passing through the wall window, cast her graceful curves onto the wall, creating a hazy beauty.
“Rustle, rustle…”
A faint sound reached Qi Ya’s ears. As a woman from the grasslands, she naturally noticed this anomaly, but she did not panic. Instead, her cheeks flushed slightly, and she wore a shy expression.
“Creak…”
The room door was quietly pushed open.
Then Qi Ya was suddenly embraced tightly!
“Mmm…”
Qi Ya lightly bit her red lips,
feeling those restless hands,
with seven parts shyness and three parts joy.
Then she whispered, “Young Master, why are you so impatient…”
Qi Ya did not receive an answer; only heavy breathing filled the room.
She tried to turn around but was held tightly, unable to move.
She smiled, and just as she was about to speak, she heard a voice:
“Sister-in-law, don’t turn around. I’m my second brother!”
