226: Deceiving people

When Lin Yue learned that his fame had spread throughout the grasslands, and moreover, that his handsomeness was already widely known, he felt as if he had ascended to the clouds, light as a feather.

Being longed for by women every night and emulated by men, Lin Yue, who had become a national idol, felt a bit giddy.

Although the game panel had clearly told Lin Yue that his Charm value was 99, the highest in the game, he always lacked confidence.

This was because Charm not only included personal appearance but also factors like personality Charm.

But when he heard praise from the enemy's mouth—no, when he heard this fact with his own ears—Lin Yue believed it must be true!

Although his so-called enemy was now kneeling before him... No one dislikes hearing flattery, and Lin Yue was no exception.

As Lin Yue was basking in his self-admiration, a heavy voice drifted over; Xing Daorong's supposedly quiet words were now heard by Lin Yue, every single one of them.

"A Rong, after three days' absence, one should be looked at with new eyes!" Lin Yue said, gritting his teeth, word by word.

Xing Daorong was startled upon hearing this, not expecting his Lord's ears to be so sharp!

However, seeing that his Lord was now convinced, and knowing his Lord well, it was highly possible that his Lord, in a good mood, would release this Xiongnu people. As soon as he thought of how eloquent this person was, Xing Daorong became extremely anxious!

He couldn't worry about so much anymore! Xing Daorong stepped forward and shouted:

"My Lord, do not believe this Xiongnu people's words; he is lying to you!"

Lu Duoha was startled by the loud voice, not understanding why the martial general in front of him, whom he had never met, harbored such great hatred towards him.

"General, Lu Duoha's words are true, with the gods as witnesses, every single one of them. Which part is a lie?" Lu Duoha asked, confused and bewildered, with a blank expression.

Lin Yue's gaze also fixed on Xing Daorong, making Xing Daorong feel immense pressure, but he stammered, unable to speak.

Should he say that his Lord was handsome, but not *that* handsome? Say that his Lord's fame spread far, but not *that* far?

Xing Daorong believed that if he dared to utter those words, he didn't know if his Lord's fame would spread, but his Lord might just 'spread' him!

Xing Daorong racked his brains, deep in thought, as large beads of sweat dripped from his forehead. He suddenly realized he seemed to have fallen into a dead end... Lu Duoha secretly glanced at him, then felt reassured and continued:

"All you wise and mighty generals, you are the most fearsome beings on the grasslands; even cattle and sheep lower their heads when they see you.

Lu Duoha believes that the generals of Great Qin are different from the barbarians on the grasslands. You are learned and talented, capable of discerning right from wrong, the wisest and most just people!

Lu Duoha does not know how he offended this general, and he hopes that you can intercede for us poor people. Lu Duoha offers you his sincerest respect."

Seeing him continue to speak without stopping, Xing Daorong became even more panicked. This sugar-coated bullet was truly formidable!

It was always a case of 'never too late to learn,' and Xing Daorong was now nervously trying to organize his words, but before he could speak, he heard Du Song's voice.

"Commandant Xing, I think what this old man says makes some sense."

Xing Daorong was somewhat startled and gave Du Tong a look, saying, "Du Tong, keep your brother in check."

"Commandant Xing, you know I always side with family, not with reason... No, I side with reason, not with family, but this time I really think my brother... no, this old man is right," Du Tong said, scratching his head.

"San Dao!" Xing Daorong, seeing that the two had already fallen, was furious at their lack of resolve and eager to find a helper.

Liu Sandao heard this and looked troubled: "I didn't want to say it, because I side with family, not with reason, so I would definitely side with you, but I think this old man is right; we are indeed different from barbarians."

"Li Mu, you speak!" Xing Daorong said anxiously. He realized that things were already beyond his control!

He hadn't expected there to be so few clear-headed people like himself left!

Li Mu heard this and said calmly, "We, who are well-read, are naturally incomparable to barbarians. Just on this point, what this Lu Duoha said is indeed correct; however, as for this person, he still needs further observation."

Further observation? This one was thinking even further ahead!

Xing Daorong didn't hear the clear answer he wanted, so he intended to continue asking, but he was unexpectedly interrupted by Pan Feng:

"Enough, A Rong, stop making trouble. Everything is up to the Lord."

Pan Feng saw that Xing Daorong clearly lacked support and was utterly embarrassed, so he wanted to end the topic.

"No, why am I making trouble!" Xing Daorong, seeing that even the closest Pan Feng had fallen, became even more anxious!

"Zi Long!" Xing Daorong called out. Zi Long was usually the calmest and surely wouldn't be swayed!

"Enough!" Lin Yue said in a deep voice, and the atmosphere immediately froze.

"Yes!" Everyone said, their expressions serious.

Then Lin Yue pulled out the long spear from his horse and pointed the spear tip at Lu Duoha's head.

Lu Duoha felt the chill of the spear tip and lowered his head even further in fright, his body trembling uncontrollably.

Xing Daorong saw this and smiled, thinking to himself, it seems the Lord still favors me and hasn't been swayed by sweet talk.

Then Xing Daorong raised his head and looked at Du Tong, Du Song, and the others.

But the next moment, he was struck as if by lightning!

"Are you willing to lead your people to follow me?

I guarantee your tribal herdsmen will not suffer from the ravages of war!" Lin Yue said in a deep voice.
