25: Night attack

Night, stars dotted the sky.

“My Lord, scouts ahead report that the bandits are less than a li away,” Pan Feng asked.

“Have you found out clearly? How many people are there?” Lin Yue asked curiously. In this day and age, someone still had designs on a baron’s Fief?

“Approximately a thousand people by visual estimate, but they are all a bunch of incompetent rabble, nothing to fear!” Pan Feng clearly showed some disdain.

“Let’s go, gather the Guard, and take a look.” Lin Yue was quite excited, wanting to see who was so daring.

Subsequently, the group went to the village’s watchtower to observe, while the village Guard was dispatched by Pan Feng to various hidden locations.

Lin Yue activated the live-streaming function and found that it cost 100 copper coins to unlock. He casually spent a hundred copper coins to unlock it.

The live-streaming function showed it was unlocked, divided into three sections: Popular, Nearby, and Recommended. Lin Yue thought for a moment and chose Nearby.

The first scene that caught his eye was a small house. The picture was very simple, with only one man... and one woman, engaged in a fierce fight.

“This... doesn’t the official platform consider a ‘clean network’ campaign?” Lin Yue feigned composure and scrolled to the next one.

After watching several live streams, the content was largely the same. Lin Yue felt a little embarrassed.

Currently, players by default exchange one tael of silver for one thousand dragon coins, mainly because they don’t have to worry about tracing the source of transactions, so the style within the game gradually became bolder.

“Is this a case of no middlemen earning a price difference, forming an industrial chain?”

Lin Yue cursed inwardly, thinking, “What kind of auspicious land is this?!”

After scrolling through several live streams, he finally found a view of the village surroundings. One person was chattering incessantly in a live stream, quite full of youthful vigor.

It was General Yu!

In the live stream, General Yu was speaking eloquently, and the number of viewers had already reached 30,000. After all, players currently had very little entertainment at night, and most of them were watching live streams.

“Brothers, you always say that I, General Yu, am no good, that I get pushed around. Today, I’ll show you! When I, General Yu, don’t act, so be it, but once I do, I’ll show you!”

General Yu shifted the camera to a village, and the people in the live stream were utterly confused.

“Where is this?”

“Are you doing that banditry thing again? Can’t you change it up a bit?!”

General Yu smiled faintly at the taunts in the live stream and then said, “This is the Fief of a baron in the Qin Kingdom, and it’s my target tonight!”

“Really or fake?”

“A Baron!”

“General Yu, don’t brag! If this is a baron’s village, I’ll eat dirt!”

“You’ll know in a moment, my friends, start sending gifts!” General Yu shouted enthusiastically!

In fact, players had largely believed it through the live stream. They had indeed never seen such a prosperous village in the game. It made sense for it to be a baron’s Fief.

First, Young Master Zhao besieged Crane Wild City, and now General Yu was launching a night raid on a baron’s Fief. Countless people called their friends, preparing to witness this moment. Soon, the number of viewers in the live stream exceeded 100,000!

“When I met General Yu on the battlefield, I knew everything else was superfluous. The so-called war became meaningless!”

“My butt still bears his indelible slap mark.” —Pegassi

“When I met Dou Dou Xie on the battlefield, I knew it was too late to retreat.”

Watching the players in the live stream constantly egging him on, General Yu was somewhat excited. The Yu Family Army’s reputation had been very poor recently, but he also had his difficulties. It wasn’t easy for his Brothers to gather together; didn’t they all look like skin and bones?

In desperation, he had permitted the Yu Family Army to do some excessive things to certain villages, but he hadn’t expected to be scorned and spat upon by players.

But today, by attacking a baron’s Fief, players would not only not mock him but would only say that he, General Yu, had strength!

This would be another opportunity for the Yu Family Army to rise again, so he personally led the team tonight. After foolproof preparations, he began the live stream.

Whether the Yu Family Army could grow strong depended on tonight!

He had scouted two days ago. Currently, the village only had over a thousand villagers, and the village chief was just an old man. It seemed the baron was not in the village, which was simply a heaven-sent opportunity.

“Old friend, go arrange things for the Brothers,” General Yu said to a burly man. With him there, today’s expedition was a sure thing!

The burly man nodded slightly upon hearing this, then directed the Yu Family Army’s attack routes.

“Everyone, divide into three teams and surround the village from the southeast and west. Listen to my command, and attack together!” the burly man said with a laugh, raising his broadaxe.

“What about the north side?” someone asked.

General Yu slapped the speaker on the head and shouted, “What nonsense! Surround three sides and leave one open! Even I know this strategy!”

“Haha, General Yu is even studying military tactics!”

“Good strategy!”

“Read the Thirty-Six Stratagems, experience General Yu’s life!”

The praises in the live stream pleased General Yu greatly, and he felt very smug. It seemed his past experience in street brawls was also useful.

Although he only knew the last of the Thirty-Six Stratagems, and was always the one who got 'owned'.

The burly man, however, shook his head slightly, revealing a mouthful of chilling white teeth and laughing, “No, one person is enough for the north side!”

As soon as these words came out, the live stream was once again pushed to a climax!

“It smells so bad, whose breath is so strong?!”

“As expected of the Yu Family Army, their bravado is all the same!”

From atop the watchtower, Lin Yue turned and relayed all of that person’s attack routes to Pan Feng.

“Hmm... This humble general will go and do it now!”

Pan Feng was somewhat puzzled, thinking what kind of genius came up with this attack route, but he still arranged the defensive routes according to Lin Yue’s words!

The number of people in the live stream grew larger and larger, and players’ voices about the burly man also grew louder!

“General Yu, who is this strong man?”

“General Yu, you actually drew a historical Military General!”

“General Yu, what rank of historical Military General?”

General Yu smiled and held up three fingers.

“What! A Third-rate Military General!”

The people in the live stream were boiling with excitement. A Third-rate Military General could walk sideways in Crane Wild City!

It seemed that after joining the Yu Family Army, they no longer had to worry about being encircled!

“No wonder General Yu has been so rampant lately, constantly clamoring online, always threatening to ‘own’ others. So he really does have strength now!”

Some people didn’t believe it, after all, the highest combat power dispatched by Young Master Zhao a few days ago to besiege Crane Wild City was only a High-level Military General. Why could General Yu draw a Third-rate Military General!

Facing the flattery and questions in the live stream, General Yu did not respond. Instead, he patted the dust off his shoes, turned, and waved his hand!

“Brothers, what is our slogan?”

“Blood dyes the Three Realms, commands three armies, my Big Brother is General Yu!” Over a thousand people responded weakly, their voices chaotic, seemingly a bit tired.

“Haven’t you eaten?” General Yu was somewhat displeased, facing his Brothers who starved day in and day out.

But today was a battle to make a name, how could they have no momentum at all!

Everyone inwardly grumbled that they hadn’t eaten, but they dared not say it aloud.

“Not for fame, not for gain, only for righteousness in our hearts!” The voices were scattered and utterly disorganized.

Listening to these strange slogans, the burly man not far away vigorously scratched his head, greatly distressed. They were supposed to be launching a sneak attack; wouldn’t this expose them?!

But then he thought again, it was just a village of a thousand people, plus his own flawless strategy of surrounding on four sides. Even if they were exposed, it wouldn’t matter.

“Depart!” General Yu shouted.

“Yes!” The players of the Yu Family Army rushed to surround on four sides, heading to their designated spots.

Meanwhile, Lin Yue and the others also went to the north of the village, wanting to see what kind of brilliant strategists could come up with such a plan.

After an hour, the burly man felt that all the teams should be in position. He then took out a tinderbox from his in arms, lit a signal arrow, and drew his bow, preparing to sound the horn for the general assault.

The burly man lit the rocket, drew his bow, and in his mind, he was already imagining himself feasting after breaking through the village. At that time, he would add two eggs to his meal!

Thinking of this, he couldn't help but shake his head. How could he be so lacking in ambition!

Add another chicken!

Roast chicken!

“Whoosh!”

The burly man aimed at the sky, drew his bow, and shot an arrow, a satisfied smile on his face, as if with the blooming fireworks, he could feast to his heart’s content!

“Whoosh!” The arrow ascended a few meters high but was directly shot down by another arrow, falling nearby.

Lin Yue extinguished it with his foot, smiling as he watched the burly man strike a pose similar to Rose in Titanic, only it was a bit strange.

The burly man was fantasizing with his hands spread wide and eyes closed, but he waited a long time and heard no signal explosion. Feeling something was wrong, he opened his eyes and saw three people staring at him!

“Who are you?” The burly man felt a little panicked. His intuition told him that the burly man among the three in front of him was no weaker than himself!

And he hadn't eaten for three days, his vital energy was insufficient, so he was even less of a match for him!

“Who are you?” one of them asked with a smile.
