84: go home

Early the next morning, the sun rose.

The Military Camp became busy again for the day, but the busiest were not the Soldiers, but the military doctors.

"Captain, why are there so many injured Soldiers in your camp?" an old military doctor in the Military Camp wondered.

"Thank you, Physician. We had a martial arts competition yesterday, and our comrades might have been a bit heavy-handed," Lin Yue said awkwardly. After resting last night, he remembered that the new recruits generally had some injuries, so he had no choice but to call the military doctors in the camp to treat them.

Fortunately, they were all minor sprains and bruises. The Physicians, while the Soldiers were asleep, turned them over with the help of the Generals, applied some herbal medicine, and helped them recover faster.

However, there were too many injured people, and it took a whole night to finish.

"No trouble, this is our duty," the old military doctor said, waving his hand.

"Last time, thanks to your rescue, I haven't yet asked for your name, sir?" Lin Yue asked, cupping his hands.

After he was rescued by General General Meng Tian last time, it was this old gentleman in front of him who treated him.

"This old man is Chun Xingde," Chun Xingde smiled at Lin Yue, "Captain, there's no need for such formality. For this old man to save a Captain of our Great Qin, it's not just saving one person; it's equivalent to saving the tens of thousands of our Great Qin's people who were killed by foreign tribes.

The more foreign tribes the Captain kills, the more people this old man saves. I should be the one thanking you."

"Sir, you are truly a divine being!" Lin Yue laughed.

"I don't deserve such praise. This old man just wants to serve in the Army for a few more years. When my eyes are too dim to treat people, I'll go back and teach my newborn grandson," Chun Xingde said with a kind smile, "Captain, with this matter resolved, this old man will come again tonight."

"I'll see you out," Lin Yue saw Chun Xingde to the door before returning.

Lin Yue had been awake all night, and now, suppressing his exhaustion, he went to patrol the Encampment.

As they had just arrived and were injured, no departments had arranged overly intense training. Currently, they were only arranged to stay with their warhorses, with specialists explaining the precautions needed when feeding warhorses.

The Soldiers listened very carefully. They all understood that warhorses were a knight's second life, fearing they might miss any detail that could lead to an accident with their warhorses.

"Captain!" Li Mu greeted Lin Yue as he saw him approach.

"Excellent, excellent!" Lin Yue praised.

"They all understand the importance of warhorses, and time waits for no one. We must try our best to be able to conduct long-distance raids with our cavalry before returning to Shang Commandery, so that we can perform charges, flanking maneuvers, and other training along the way," Li Mu said with a smile, clearly satisfied with them.

"Mm-hmm, when will we be able to conduct mounted training?" Lin Yue asked.

"About three days later. Each squad has an old Soldier who can quickly help them control their warhorses, which will greatly speed up our progress," Li Mu said.

"Good, you go about your business," Lin Yue then walked elsewhere.

Now, the entire White Horse Righteous Cavalry operated in an orderly manner. Everyone had something to do, except for Lin Yue, who had nothing to do.

With so many elite Soldiers and Generals under him, he didn't have to worry about anything, and they all did their jobs very well. Would this make him seem too useless?

Lin Yue thought for a moment and then walked to the training ground. He might as well continue practicing archery, which could also increase his Martial Power.

"Whoosh!"

"Whoosh!"

Lin Yue shot arrow after arrow without stopping. His arm strength was astonishing now!

Previously, a hundred shots a day would leave his arm sore, but now, after a hundred shots, his arm no longer felt such intense pain.

"Whoosh!"

"Lin Yue, come over, come over."

Lin Yue turned his head at the sound and saw She Jian sitting not far behind him, so he walked over.

"General!" Lin Yue said, cupping his hands.

"There are no outsiders here, no need to be so formal," She Jian waved his hand, then patted the spot next to him, "Sit!"

"Understood!" Lin Yue pulled up his trousers and sat down.

"When will all your White Horse Righteous Cavalry be able to mount their horses?" She Jian asked.

"Three days, I suppose," Lin Yue replied.

"That's acceptable. Train them as quickly as possible. Now I'm a lone commander, and I'm counting on you to maintain my prestige," She Jian laughed.

Now he was the commander of an Army, but his Army was in Shang Commandery, which meant that currently, he only had Lin Yue's troops at his disposal.

"General, you jest," Lin Yue laughed.

"Approximately seven days from now, the Army will return to Shang Commandery. The journey is over twenty thousand li, and the Army will take almost a month and a half to travel.

This will be no small challenge for you," She Jian said with some gravity.

"I'll try my best to train them quickly," Lin Yue said. In the game, the map was a hundred times larger than reality. Although warhorses in the game ran faster than in reality, this journey could still exhaust a person to death.

"Mm-hmm, just do your best," She Jian said, then looked at Lin Yue, "I remember your home isn't far, is it?"

"Not far, but our village was looted by bandits and is now a desolate village," Lin Yue said.

"Damn it, it's been six years since the Six Kingdoms were unified. Ever since the unification, Great Qin has had abundant harvests every year, without any disasters.

Grain is becoming more and more plentiful, and disasters are almost nonexistent, so why are there still so many bandits?" She Jian cursed.

Lin Yue didn't know how to answer that. He just thought, abundant harvests every year without disasters? Does this game not have locust plagues, droughts, floods, and epidemics?

"I see you've been idle lately, with no place where you're needed.

I'll grant you a few days' leave. Go back to your Fief and take a look.

Who knows when you'll be able to return to your Fief next time," She Jian said.

"Ah?" Lin Yue was a bit surprised. Another holiday for him? He hadn't seemed to have stayed in the Military Camp for more than a few days; he had always been outside!

"Isn't that a bit inappropriate?" Lin Yue asked cautiously.

"What's inappropriate about it? I am your commander. Who dares to say no? Go quickly!" She Jian patted Lin Yue's shoulder and stood up, walking away.

"Don't forget to be back within seven days!" She Jian laughed, gradually walking further away.

"What kind of situation is this?" Lin Yue thought to himself. Was he forced into another holiday?

Lin Yue thought about it. Going back to the village was good. As She Jian said, he really might not be able to return next time for a long while.

Then Lin Yue found the Generals and said,

"I'm going back to my village. Thank you all for your trouble during this time.

A Rong, do you have any letters you need me to take back?"

"Yes! My Lord, but I haven't written them yet," Xing Daorong's eyes lit up.

"Go write them then. Bring them to me when you're done," Lin Yue laughed.

"Alright, My Lord!" Xing Daorong said and then ran out.

"San Dao, you'll accompany me back this time," Lin Yue laughed. Liu Sandao's personal guard standard was composed of veteran Soldiers from the White Horse Righteous Cavalry, and they didn't require very intense training to complete the mission to Shang Commandery, so taking him was the most suitable option.

"Understood!" Liu Sandao replied. He was Lin Yue's personal guard and should always be by Lin Yue's side!

"Alright, train as quickly as possible. We'll be returning to Shang Commandery in about seven days," Lin Yue said solemnly to the Generals.

"Understood!" the Generals replied, and a sense of urgency immediately spread throughout the entire Military Camp.

However, none of this concerned Lin Yue anymore. After receiving Xing Daorong's two letters, he took Liu Sandao, Ma Baoguo, and Wu De and rode their horses towards Heye City.
