140: Golden General Recruitment Order

In the afternoon, Lin Yue finally led the White Horse Righteous Cavalry back to the Military Camp near Shenmu City.

After Lin Yue completed the handover with the Generals stationed in the Shenmu Military Camp, he rode his horse into the Military Camp, then dismissed his troops with a single Command and went to rest.

He instructed Xing Daorong to send men to build two small warehouses in the open space within the Military Camp, storing all ten thousand sets of clothes and pants inside.

Witnessing the ten thousand sets of Xiongnu Cavalry garments neatly arranged one by one in the warehouse, the smile on Lin Yue's face never faded.

It wasn't until Xing Daorong locked the large door and handed the key to Lin Yue that Lin Yue tucked the key into his bosom.

Afterward, he did not let Zhao Yun and Xing Daorong follow him, but instead walked out of the Encampment alone, heading outwards until he found a secluded corner where he finally stopped.

He looked around, and seeing no one nearby, he excitedly pulled out the Golden Military General Recruitment Order.

Previously, because he had been in Wang Li's Military Camp, he had no way to resolve the household registration issue, so he had not used it.

For this, he had endured for a long time; who could understand the pain of being able to summon a first-rate or Second-Rate Military General immediately, yet having to suppress the urge to recruit them!

Lin Yue thought for a moment and realized that indeed no one could experience such a thing; after all, it was a Golden Military General Recruitment Order, and the forum hadn't revealed many people possessing one.

Lin Yue chuckled to himself and prepared to use it; after all, the Record Keeper here, Old Zhao, was an acquaintance, so the household registration issue was not a problem.

[Player, do you wish to use the Golden Military General Recruitment Order?]

"Use it!"

Immediately, a purple light descended from the sky in front of Lin Yue, slowly forming a Star Gate!

Following this, a scene appeared before Lin Yue's eyes.

In a Military Camp, within a simple room, an old man lay on a bed.

Outside the window, the wind and rain obscured the day, the sky was dim, and the wind and rain continued incessantly; inside the window, the Generals looked at the old man's condition on the bed, their faces all terribly grim.

The old man's face was haggard, his breathing weak, his lips purple, and his eyes were somewhat unfocused; this was a sign of his end approaching.

The several Generals around, watching the old man on his deathbed, felt their hearts twist with pain, and they all sobbed softly.

"Father, do you have any last words for the family?" a man knelt by the bed, holding the old man's dry, wrinkled hand, choking out the words.

Hearing his son's call, the old man finally mustered some spirit, his gaze gradually focused and gained a flicker of light; he wanted to speak, but his teeth trembled uncontrollably.

He slowly and with difficulty sat up, raising one hand and extending it forward, his eyes no longer cloudy, as if the most beautiful scenery in the world awaited him ahead.

Then, the old man used his last strength, shouting with a touch of pathos:

"Cross the river!

Cross the river!

Cross the river!"

Immediately afterward, his eyes quickly dimmed, failing to grasp that most beautiful scenery, and he finally collapsed onto his sickbed!

Upon hearing this, the Generals' tears welled up, and they could no longer suppress their emotions.

Suddenly, cries of grief shook the room!

Following the sounds of weeping from inside the house, the Soldiers in the Military Camp all knew what had happened.

Some lowered their heads in silence, some quietly wiped away tears, and some fell to the ground, crying loudly, but ultimately, they all performed one action: the Soldiers of the entire Encampment all knelt in the direction of the old man.

The entire Encampment was filled with a mournful atmosphere.

Then the camera gradually zoomed out, and the room where the old man was located eventually became a small black dot in the vast world; Lin Yue looked northward, where "Jin" banners fluttered in the wind!

Then the scene ended, but Lin Yue had not yet recovered, still immersed in that poignant yet tragic history.

"This humble general Zong Ze, greets my Lord!"

A resonant voice pulled Lin Yue's thoughts back; he saw a middle-aged man standing before him, cupping his hands in greeting!

"Ru Lin, please rise quickly!" Lin Yue hurried forward to support the middle-aged Zong Ze, momentarily choking up and unsure what to say; he composed himself and said to Zong Ze, "Please follow me."

"This humble general obeys!" Zong Ze said with a smile.

Then Lin Yue took him to the Record Keeper to handle his identity and enlistment.

[name: Zong Ze

Identity: Military General

Title: None

Martial Power: 88

Intelligence: 93

Command: 92

Politics: 93

Charm: 92

Loyalty: 80

Talent: Northern Expedition Ambition: When leading an Army against foreign tribes, morale +20%, damage +10%!]

Seeing this talent, Lin Yue was overjoyed; this was practically the bane of foreign tribes!

When the Jin Soldiers invaded the south, two people single-handedly pushed them back; if the Song Dynasty had not chosen to kill Zhong Shidao and demote Zong Ze...

Then three months later, when the Jin Soldiers again marched south, they would not have single-handedly crushed the Northern Song into the Southern Song!

Moreover, Zong Ze could be said to be skilled in both civil and military arts; he could wield a pen to revitalize the nation and wield a sword to assist the Great Song, resisting the Jin people!

He was even given the title of "Grandpa Zong" by the Jin people, which fully demonstrates Zong Ze's deterrence against them!

He also discovered national heroes like Yue Fei, selecting talented individuals for the Southern Song!

He even submitted twenty-four memorials, but all were denied; ultimately, on his deathbed, he still thought of crossing the river, dying of grief and indignation!

Looking at his life, he was worthy of the title of national hero!

"Ru Lin, follow me," Lin Yue said, then introduced Zong Ze to Xing Daorong, Zhao Yun, and others; after they exchanged greetings, Lin Yue led Zong Ze to the barracks and chatted with him, as he truly admired this hero who resisted the Jin!

It wasn't until the sun set and night fell that Lin Yue came back to his senses.

"My apologies, Ru Lin, I didn't notice the time; I didn't realize it was so late," Lin Yue said with a smile.

"It's no matter, my Lord; I have now understood the current situation from our conversation.

I observe that your White Horse Righteous Cavalry possess high combat power; if we go to war with the Xiongnu people, the probability of victory is ninety percent!" Zong Ze said with a smile.

"Ru Lin, what do you think, how should we wage war?" Lin Yue asked.

Zong Ze thought for a moment and then said, "We should concentrate our forces to achieve a decisive victory!

Otherwise, if the Xiongnu people fight and retreat, over time, the Army will fall into a quagmire, as the Great Qin's cavalry is much fewer than the Xiongnu people's.

Only by achieving a decisive victory and hurting them badly will they no longer dare to march south. And after they flee, we must immediately establish prefectures and counties in the acquired territory, build city walls, and mobilize the common people to cultivate the land. Developing this way generation after generation, slowly devouring them, one day they will no longer be our opponents!"

"Good!" Lin Yue couldn't help but applaud, exclaiming in approval; this plan was virtually identical to that of the Great Qin in history!

"I apologize for making Ru Lin serve as my aide for a few days; once the Army returns, I will arrange your specific position," Lin Yue said with a face full of apology.

"It's no matter; as long as we can drive the foreign tribes out of the land of China, I, Zong Ze, would even serve as a vanguard!" Zong Ze said with a hearty laugh.

"If I truly made Ru Lin a vanguard, then I would truly be wasting a precious talent!

Even if I were more incompetent, I would still know that you, Ru Lin, are a great talent!" Lin Yue said with a smile; he was becoming more and more satisfied with Zong Ze!

Zong Ze was a Military Leader, and moreover, he had a natural bonus against foreign tribes; he was free-spirited and unconventional, and his moral character was beyond question. Such a talented individual is truly rare and hard to come by!
