347: wake

After an unknown period, Lin Yue slowly opened his eyes and woke up.

The first thing he saw was a large face covered in tear stains.

“This must be a dream. How could I dream of A Rong?” Lin Yue quickly closed his eyes, hoping to wake up soon.

“My Lord! Please wake up, don’t fall asleep again!” Xing Daorong saw Lin Yue close his eyes again and was afraid he wouldn’t wake up.

“Stop shaking me. If you keep shaking me, I’ll really be gone.” Lin Yue strained to utter these few words.

Xing Daorong then stopped, looking at Lin Yue with tear-filled eyes.

“Where am I? Where are the others?” Lin Yue asked.

The first person he saw upon waking was A Rong, which made Lin Yue a little confused.

“My Lord, you are currently in General Wang Li’s Encampment. A Soldier found you by the river. You were already unconscious, so they quickly brought you back.

As for the others, the Great General sent Wei Liang and General Yang Ye to pursue the Xiongnu. The remaining people are searching for you along the downstream of the river. Now, the Deputy Commander has sent someone to inform them of your rescue, and they should be back by this evening.” Xing Daorong explained everything in detail, wiping away his tears continuously.

“Alright, stop crying. I’m fine.” Lin Yue didn’t know what to say seeing A Rong like this.

“My Lord, don’t try to be strong. Modu broke three of your ribs. If it weren’t for the Golden Silk Armor you were wearing that blocked an attack for you, I… I’m afraid I would be homeless again…”

Xing Daorong sobbed, wiping his tears.

Lin Yue opened his mouth. Xing Daorong’s words about being homeless touched him.

Thinking back, when Xing Daorong learned that General Yu was going to sell him to someone else, it must have caused him great harm.

“But I’m fine now, aren’t I?” Lin Yue smiled and comforted him.

“My Lord, you must take me with you on future campaigns. If I were by your side, I wouldn’t let you end up in such a state.” Xing Daorong said.

“But Modu is a First-rate Military General. Can you beat him?” Lin Yue teased.

“Uh… I can’t beat him, but I can take a spear for My Lord. Don’t worry, I have thick skin and flesh; one spear won’t kill me!” Xing Daorong chuckled.

Lin Yue felt a warmth in his heart after hearing this, but before he could respond, he heard a voice.

“You’re awake?”

Lin Yue turned his head and saw it was Chun Xingde, then smiled, “Old sir, we really are fated.”

“Ah, who isn’t, indeed.” Chun Xingde also gave a bitter smile.

“When can I fully recover?” Lin Yue asked directly. He didn’t want to lie in bed forever.

“You have three broken ribs. It will take a month to get out of bed; of course, that’s for ordinary people. I estimate you’ll be able to walk around in half a month, but to fully recover, it will still take about a hundred days.” Chun Xingde smiled.

Lin Yue frowned upon hearing this. He understood the saying ‘a hundred days to heal a broken bone,’ but he couldn’t stand lying in bed for about a hundred days.

“You don’t need to look like that. If it weren’t for your Golden Silk Armor conveniently blocking an attack for you this time, you probably wouldn’t even be alive now. So, just a mere hundred days, bear with it and it will pass.” Chun Xingde smiled.

“Indeed.” Lin Yue agreed, then pondered continuously, finally sorting everything out.

It seems he was truly lucky. When he fell into the water, only his ribs were broken. The bloodstains on Modu’s spear tip should not have been his, but Wang Da Tou’s.

And when he was finally unconscious but not yet dead, the game updated, and he was forcibly logged out, which is why he reappeared at the bottom of the river when he re-entered the game!

That means the “Death Exemption Token” was not triggered, and he still had one more life than other players!

Moreover, falling into the lake injured saved him from the situation other players on the forum faced. His disappearance for these days also had a reasonable explanation.

Otherwise, if he suddenly disappeared right under everyone’s noses, anyone would discover he was an “Outsider.” At that point, even if he could revive, it would be useless; the Great Wall Legion would not allow him to stay.

So, this injury could be said to be a blessing in disguise!

“Then you rest first. I’ll come back later.” Chun Xingde saw Lin Yue close his eyes in thought, assuming he was too tired, and did not disturb him further.

“Old sir, wait!” Lin Yue suddenly opened his eyes and asked.

“What is it?”

“If I have a Bone Strengthening Pill, how long until I can get out of bed?” Lin Yue asked with bright eyes.

“Bone Strengthening Pill?” Chun Xingde was a little surprised, then thought for a moment and replied, “If you really have a Bone Strengthening Pill, five days will be enough!”

Lin Yue was overjoyed, then continued, “What if I also have a Bone Tempering Pill?”

“Body Tempering Pill? Then you can walk in three days!” Chun Xingde said.

“Good!” Lin Yue smiled; he happened to have both of these pills!

They were both left for him by the middle-aged Daoist from Heye City. Perhaps at the time, the middle-aged Daoist saw his serious injuries and left various pills for him to heal.

“You have all of these?” Chun Xingde asked with some doubt.

“Yes, a friend coincidentally gave me some.” Lin Yue did not hide it and directly took out the two pills from his spatial ring and handed them to Chun Xingde.

Chun Xingde took the pills, examined them carefully, and then smiled, “Indeed, they are Bone Strengthening Pills and Bone Tempering Pills, which will greatly benefit your injuries. How about this, I’ll prepare a herbal decoction for you. The effect will be even better if you take the pills with this bowl of decoction.”

Chun Xingde finished speaking and walked out.

“Thank you, old sir.”

Then Xing Daorong hobbled out to see Chun Xingde off.

Seeing Xing Daorong’s appearance, Lin Yue remembered that he was also injured, and in such an awkward spot at that…
