11: Chapter 11 The Age of Dinosaurs: Coexistence with Humans?

A monster, over a dozen meters long and as tall as a two-story building, appeared before the crowd.

It whipped its thick tail with great force, snapping several rows of small trees in half.

The Dongshan people, terrified, scrambled toward Chu Xingyang.

The monster, having had its territory encroached upon, was rampaging in a fit of rage. Seeing the gathered crowd, it immediately stretched its neck and charged over with its blood-red maw wide open.

The chieftain was pale with fright: "Xingyang God, that's it! It has eaten many of our people!"

The extreme fear of the Dongshan people turned into immense fury. Spears and arrows in their hands rained down upon it densely.

But apart from one spear that broke a little of its skin, the others struck it as if hitting stone, barely penetrating its defenses at all.

In a flash, the massive, terrifying body of a Tyrannosaurus Rex came into view. A Dongshan person standing in the front was sent flying over a dozen meters by a casual charge from it.

The chieftain and the others cried out in terror: "Xingyang God! Please save us!"

Chu Xingyang only just now snapped out of his shock.

The monster before him was clearly... a Tyrannosaurus Rex!

Since when did dinosaurs and humans exist in the same era? This surreal feeling really created a sense of extreme dissonance.

But he couldn't worry about that now. The moment the dinosaur charged at him, he hurriedly activated his ability.

Instantly, the creature weighing dozens of tons was lifted off the ground. At first, the T-Rex was even a bit excited, thinking it could fly, but it soon realized it was afraid of heights.

"Bang!"

With a ground-shaking thud, a large amount of sod and soil splashed up. The giant dinosaur landed heavily on the ground, feeling dizzy for the first time in its life.

Since he didn't want to kill it, he had deliberately controlled his strength. The frightened T-Rex simply scrambled up from the pile of trees and slunk away.

The Dongshan people first cheered with joy, then all knelt down and shouted: "Xingyang God is eternal! The great deity brings us light and a future!"

Chu Xingyang didn't look at them, instead communicating with Old Three using his consciousness.

"What's going on? Why are there dinosaurs on you?"

"Father! These are the lives you created." The planet, Old Three, seemed a bit aggrieved: "At that time, you said you created ten million types of life on me, and these dinosaurs are among them."

Huh? Chu Xingyang felt a bit ashamed. Back then, he only saw that this planet was a paradise for Carbon-based Life, so he had scattered life like he was having fun, never noticing that these terrifying creatures were mixed in.

"Then what is the scale of these dinosaurs' development now?"

"Not many. Each of their populations requires vast territory and sufficient food, so they don't breed quickly. Currently, only a few human races are disturbed by the dinosaurs."

Chu Xingyang nodded, thinking that currently, the eighteen human races were basically in the Stone Age, and they were helpless against these dinosaurs. If the dinosaurs were allowed to develop unchecked, a portion of these human races would likely go extinct from the planet.

What was to be done!

Just as he was considering a strategy, Gu crawled to his feet at this moment: "With the protection of the Xingyang God, we will never have to worry about not returning from hunting again."

The surrounding Dongshan people all prostrated on the ground, bowing and kowtowing again.

Chu Xingyang waved his hand. What were they thinking? He couldn't follow them on every hunt.

He pondered for a moment and said to the Dongshan people: "Dinosaurs aren't that scary. I will teach you how to make bronze ware. Once your weapons are upgraded, dealing with them will be much easier."

The crowd wept with joy.

They all knelt piously on the ground: "Thank you for the blessing, Xingyang God! We will be your loyal servants for generations to come and serve you forever!"

Chu Xingyang looked at the edge of the grassland. It is better to teach a man to fish than to give him a fish. This way, he could also save a lot of trouble.

After making up his mind, he lay quietly in the grass, watching this group of Dongshan people hunt.

Without the T-Rex, these people were quite adept and skillful at hunting.

In no time at all, the carcasses of a dozen wild boars and a few antelopes were gathered together.

Fearing that the smell of smoke and roasted meat would attract carnivorous dinosaurs again, the Dongshan people reverted to their ancestors' tradition of eating raw meat. A dozen people used stone axes to quickly dismember a wild boar.

Chu Xingyang looked at the pork they offered and shook his head: "You eat it. Once you're done, go back early."

When it grew dark, the group returned home fully loaded with the fruits of their hunt.

The Dongshan people who had stayed behind to guard the village saw for the first time a situation where everyone returned safely with a full harvest from hunting.

Immediately, they all prostrated themselves, chanting praises to the Xingyang God with utmost piety.

This annoyed Chu Xingyang a little; he felt this human race had too much of an obsession with rituals.

But he didn't want to get angry at this group of people.

He could only let them stand up and teach them the technique of smelting bronze. He explained the ratio of copper, the ratio of tin or lead, as well as the heat of the charcoal, and so on.

They had already been attempting to smelt, and although they had been failing, they still had some foundation.

So, before long, a freshly forged piece of bronze appeared before the Dongshan people.

After it cooled, Gu carefully held the bronze block high, as if holding a glittering, priceless treasure.

Hundreds of eyes in the entire tribe stared fixedly at it, as if this solid lump had some kind of magic.

"Smash it down!" Chu Xingyang ordered.

Gu threw the bronze block hard onto a rock.

"Crack!" The stone shattered into pieces, but the bronze block remained unscathed.

"Thank you for the gift, Xingyang God!"

"Great Deity Xingyang, your grace is broader and deeper than the vast ocean. We Dongshan people will remember it in our hearts for generations!"

...

The Dongshan people erupted in thunderous praise. They knew that with the bronze gifted by the god, they would no longer fear encountering dinosaurs while hunting. They would craft sharp and sturdy weapons and form formations capable of both offense and defense.

Even if they couldn't kill the dinosaurs, they could make them retreat.

Chu Xingyang watched them until midnight; they were still tirelessly burning charcoal to smelt bronze, each of them with an expression of excitement and uncontrollable joy on their faces.

He thought to himself silently, Congratulations, you have entered the Bronze Age!

By the next day, the Dongshan people's first bronze work was finished.

A statue of the Xingyang God, over three meters tall!

Chu Xingyang squinted and looked up; the facial features were a bit rough, but it could already be considered a fairly vivid work of art.

He thought to himself, forget it, just leave it be. Let them do whatever they want.

I should go too. How do the human races in that area of the Central Continent look so much like goblins?
