88: Chapter 88 The Three-Body Society
Two hundred Earth Humans warships were anchored in the orbit of Proxima Centauri.
In this Stable Era, for the first time since the dawn of their civilization, the Trisolarans were acting as hosts.
In a hall that wasn't particularly spacious, the two civilizations chatted about the specific details of the alliance, each harboring their own ulterior motives while tacitly acknowledging the situation.
Chu Yuhang, sitting at the head, looked at the snake-like bodies and slithering movements of the Trisolarans, then lowered his head, trying his best to hide the disdain on his face.
Elisa stared at the food they had served in front of her, covering her mouth and nose, and almost vomited on the spot.
She felt completely desolate inside, unable to believe that Earth Humans had actually fallen to the point of having to ally with such bizarre, freakish creatures.
She clenched her fists tightly, feeling both fear and hatred toward the Blue Star people; she wished she could slaughter every single Blue Star person just to get a peaceful night's sleep.
Du Fei was one of the few Earth Humans who did not lose his composure; he looked calmly at Qi Qi and asked, "So, your Leader's body was suddenly flattened while negotiating with that bishop or whatever? You didn't see what caused it at all?"
"Yes," Qi Qi said, pulling out a book, "This is the xingyang divine canon they gave us when we left Blue Star; according to what's written here, their Xingyang God possesses divine power."
"And as for our Leader, the scene looked exactly as if he had been killed by divine power; otherwise, I cannot imagine what kind of instrument could exert such force on a physical body from a distance, as our Trisolaran body tissues are actually quite tough!"
Du Fei nodded.
The physical bodies of Trisolarans, especially those like the Leader's, needed to undergo many rounds of dehydration to survive the Chaotic Eras, and then be rehydrated to come back to life.
Without sufficient strength, their bodies would absolutely not be able to withstand such torture.
Military Dictator Qi Wu spoke up at this moment, "After our Allied Forces drive away or exterminate the Blue Star people, we want that planet; what do you want?"
Chu Yuhang deflected the question, "We don't need Blue Star; you can take it if you want; our Earth is currently on the outskirts of the Milky Way Galaxy; we have a planet; we'll see if we can fit two planets into the Habitable Zone when the time comes."
The hall fell into an eerie silence.
In reality, everyone knew that it was absolutely impossible for Earth Humans and Trisolarans to coexist peacefully under such circumstances.
If the Blue Star people ever left one day and returned to their Three-Spiral System,
a war to the death would instantly erupt between these two races.
But while the Blue Star people were still present, with a great enemy facing them, no one would be the first to pierce this layer of window paper.
Du Fei cleared his throat and said slowly, "Future matters can be handled later; it's just that the current situation is exceptionally dire; we must unite our front without reservation and fight side by side if we are to have any chance of defeating Blue Star."
This statement was the consensus of everyone present.
After all, both sides had witnessed the terrifying strength of Blue Star.
In the following months, Earth and the Trisolarans shared their respective technologies and discussed ways to defeat the Xingyang Civilization.
But in other aspects, the two parties found it difficult to get along harmoniously.
On the surface of Proxima Centauri, the Trisolarans had built what they considered to be luxurious hotels for their "honored guests."
But the Earth Humans would rather squeeze into small shuttles, curling up their bodies to sleep,
than live in those damp, foul-smelling earthen pits.
Only Xiao Tonghe took his bedding roll over to sleep for a few nights, trying to persuade his own people, "At least go stay there for a day; they went to such trouble to build it; you can't give them zero face, right?"
Elisa rolled her eyes at him, frowned, and scolded, "Is that a place where a living person can actually lie down? I wouldn't sleep there even if I died; seeing them slithering around like snakes just makes me sick!"
Only Du Fei listened to the advice and walked toward the low, damp "hotel," saying for the sake of the big picture, "After all, we will be comrades-in-arms in the future; let's not create rifts before the war has even started."
Unexpectedly, after some time, the usually easy-going Xiao Tonghe ran to the command room and threw a tantrum.
"Do we really have to cooperate with this kind of extremely centralized, autocratic society?"
"They have no personal property, no individual thought; even reproduction, birth, aging, sickness, and death are all controlled."
"When they can or cannot reproduce, how many to have; when encountering a Chaotic Era, who needs to voluntarily dehydrate and be willingly treated as firewood to be burned."
"This intelligent species, this kind of social structure should not exist! It should perish!"
Everyone was immediately stunned by his sudden outburst of anger.
Someone cautiously advised, "Isn't it the Emperor who calls the shots for us now? Keep your voice down."
Xiao Tonghe was full of rage, "But Chu Yuhang hasn't forbidden us from having children, nor has he dictated how many we can have, right?"
"A society with absolutely no personal freedom should be disintegrated and eliminated; everyone who supports this kind of system is guilty of a heinous crime; we cannot cooperate with them!"
Elisa ran over, pointed at his nose, and scolded, "Weren't you staying in their hotel just fine a few days ago? Why are you acting crazy now? Their harsh environment can only give birth to this kind of social system; we are just cooperating, not integrating into their society; what are you so anxious about?"
Hearing the commotion, Chu Yuhang also walked over.
He swept his gaze coldly over everyone, "Instead of arguing about such things here, you'd be better off studying the Sophon technology shared by the Trisolarans."
"This was developed by utilizing almost all of the Trisolarans' resources; see if it can be combined with our Cyborgs; the urgent task is to defeat Blue Star; put everything else aside for now and seek common ground while reserving differences."
Xiao Tonghe also gradually calmed down; he knew that the Emperor was not wrong.
So, he could only slink back to the surface of Proxima Centauri.
But from then on, he never spoke another word to any Trisolaran.
A few months later, under the joint research and development of Earth and the Trisolarans, a weapon that fused the technological crystallization of both civilizations was created.
Chu Yuhang looked at this 3.5-meter-long smooth cone, his voice tinged with faint joy, "Let's call this the droplet; made from strong interaction force material, it is truly indestructible in the real sense!"
On the testing ground, after being activated, the tail of the droplet displayed a brilliant blue halo; as its speed increased, the color of the ring shifted from blue to yellow, and finally to a vibrant red.
Even at a maximum speed of 30,000 kilometers per second, it could perform sharp turns without slowing down.
And it effortlessly pierced through several mountain peaks without encountering any resistance.
Qi Wu was very satisfied with the power of this weapon and said triumphantly, "When the Blue Star people see these droplets, their doomsday will have arrived."
