9: Chapter 9: Became the God of the Cat People, Through Words!
Time flew by in the blink of an eye.
Not knowing how many years had passed, Chu Xingyang was awakened by Third.
He opened his eyes and looked at the dry cave. That white bear was long gone, and its descendants had also hibernated here for many generations.
But as the activity range of the Cat People grew, these bears had to abandon this cave, choosing to head deeper into the snowy plains to find their new home.
Chu Xingyang stretched and asked Third with his consciousness, "You woke me up just now, is it because all eighteen human races have invented language?"
"Yes, most of them, and one race has even invented writing!" As a planet that only possessed consciousness and could do nothing else, observing humans was Third's only pleasure.
They had already invented writing? Chu Xingyang felt a bit curious and was suddenly struck by an urge to go and see.
"And they already have activities worshipping the sun. They are calling out to you at every moment, my father." Third added.
Then I am even more interested. But before going to see them, I will observe the Cat People first. After all, I am currently in the north of the Northern Continent, right in the territory where they are active.
Chu Xingyang thought this, then used Gravity Manipulation to fly above the Cat People tribe.
He saw a dozen Cat People tribes scattered along the riverbank by the snowy mountains. The small huts built from tree trunks and mud, relying on large trees, were quite sturdy and reliable.
It seemed to be mealtime, as wisps of cooking smoke rose from the open ground at the center of each tribe.
The crowds were also gathering together one after another.
Their tails have become much shorter! Chu Xingyang narrowed his eyes and discovered that almost every tribe had a similar statue made of mud, snow blocks, or stones nearby. In front of the statue, various strange symbols were drawn.
Clearly, the Cat People also had the rudiments of writing.
As for the statue, although the facial features were not clear, looking at the general outline and the style of the clothing, it was clearly himself!
And the Cat People kneeling before the statue were murmuring: "Great Deity Xingyang, you are the only light between heaven and earth, the only Hope for humanity! Your wisdom brought civilization, and your mercy saved all living beings!"
"What is going on?" Seeing this, Chu Xingyang asked Third.
"Father, you are now the god of the Cat People. The Cat People's Sun God, Fire God, and War God, and in their eyes, you are the ancestor of all Cat People! They say they are the descendants of the god."
Huh? What is going on? I can understand becoming their Fire God, after all, Sweet Dumpling and the others learned how to drill wood for fire from me.
But what the hell is with the War God and being their ancestor?
Forget it, Chu Xingyang shook his head and decided to ignore the Cat People for the time being. Instead, he would go and see the race that had invented writing first.
On the way, he first switched to his consciousness form for the long-distance journey.
Then he pulled up his system panel.

Chu Xingyang had just taken a look when he arrived above the tribe of the first race to invent writing.
This was the east of the Eastern Continent, beside a large mountain.
The entire tribe of several hundred people was kneeling with the utmost piety, their backs to the mountain and facing the sun.
In front of the leading old chieftain was an altar made of piled earth. He was pressing his forehead to the ground, murmuring: "Great Sun God, please grant us strength. Bestow your blessings upon us. Let our tribe continue forever and flourish."
Chu Xingyang originally wanted to leave, but he was too eager to see the writing they had created.
After hesitating for a long while, he finally landed in front of the chieftain.
With a flash of golden light, he switched to his entity form.
"Ah! The Sun God has manifested!"
Even though he was almost blinded by the golden light, the chieftain did not dare to close his eyes.
Instead, while shouting, he led his tribespeople, pressing their faces to the ground and crawling forward.
Soon they gathered at Chu Xingyang's feet, and the old chieftain wailed loudly: "Sun God, you have finally manifested after the pious calls of our ancestors for generations. Our Sun God, please have mercy and bless us. You are the only deity in all directions, past and present, the greatest truth in all time and space!"
The chieftain's old face was full of deep gullies. Because he had been rubbing his face on the ground just now, the gullies and wrinkles were filled with mud.
Now that he was crying again, the tears washed away the mud, truly a case of mud and sand flowing down; his whole face looked as if several black earthworms were crawling on it.
Chu Xingyang felt his scalp tingle and curled his lip. He reached out his right hand and pressed down the chieftain's head, which was held high looking at him.
Finally, he couldn't see his face.
The old chieftain was extremely excited: "Thank you for the Sun God's blessing."
Who blessed you? I just didn't want to look at your dirty face.
Chu Xingyang sat on a mound of earth nearby: "Show me your writing."
Immediately, some tribespeople brought over a few stone slabs, presenting them tremblingly.
Behind them, others brought wooden boards, animal skins, bones, pottery, tree bark... and even a few irregularly shaped burnt clay lumps, also densely covered with writing.
He had created all eighteen human races, so naturally, he could easily recognize their writing.
Chu Xingyang examined them carefully.
This set of writing was still at a fairly basic stage. Most of them were nouns and verbs; as for adjectives, there were pitifully few. There weren't even any abstract terms.
There was no way to express an extremely short time, such as "instant". There was no "future", no "miss", no "beautiful"...
But strangely, there was already the word "pain".
Chu Xingyang widened his eyes. Writing that expressed concepts or described various things was generally invented in groups.
Why was there no writing for "beautiful" or "happy", but only this single "pain"? He pointed this word out to the old chieftain.
The chieftain waved his right hand and clutched his chest: "We have the language for 'happy', but we invented the writing for 'pain' first."
"Because we are too full of pain, our tribe is too full of pain. More than half of the newborns die prematurely. And during their growth, many infants die from beast attacks, cold weather, and inexplicable diseases."
The old chieftain said while crying, tears streaming down his face: "Only one-tenth of the infants can grow into adults, but every time we go out to hunt, we often lose a few people. Sometimes, it even happens that no one returns at all."
