55: Chapter 55 The Southern Neighboring Two Star Systems Are Ready for Battle

When the divine might arrived in the Southern Neighbor Two stellar system and dropped out of curvature travel, the wedding was drawing to a close.

All those attending the wedding were engaged in silent prayer with their eyes closed, presided over by Missionary Officer Tu Kulei.

Both the Blue Star people and the White Star Liz People would kneel and pray to the Xingyang God for one hour at the beginning and end of every ceremony.

One of the abilities of the Theocracy personnel was the capacity to silently count to one hour in their minds, accurate to the second, without any external assistance.

Chu Xingyang felt that the scene of so many people being completely silent was rather desolate.

Earlier at the wedding, he had already eaten his fill of food and drink while keeping his fake beard attached.

So, he simply took this opportunity to slip into the bridge command room and said to Helmsman Tang Ling, who cast a puzzled look his way, "Routine inspection."

He then used the scanner to observe the neighboring stellar system and soon discovered an anomaly.

But just then, the people who had finished attending the wedding returned one after another.

Yu Lan recognized the deity sitting in her seat at a glance and immediately shed tears of excitement.

If not for the deity stopping her with a look, she would have already knelt down right then and there.

Tu Kulei looked curiously at the unfamiliar face: "Who is this?"

Xiliu had a quick idea: "Reporting to the Missionary Officer, this is a new technician in our engine room, not yet listed with a Gospel Army serial number."

Chu Xingyang was startled, thinking to himself how this Android could lie more smoothly than drinking water, even though he had never seen it drink water.

Also, should I use the identity of an ordinary person? Otherwise, every time I appear, everyone ends up kneeling all over the floor.

After Tu Kulei left, Yu Lan, with tears streaming down her face, crouched on the ground, shivering, her wings trembling behind her.

Xiliu slowly leaned over and whispered: "Great God, I lied just now."

Chu Xingyang laughed: "I'm more interested in how you, an Android, learned to lie; that's very hard to bypass your underlying logic. It seems you've learned a lot from the Blue Star humans."

As they were talking, the entire starship suddenly sounded an alarm, followed by an announcement that rang throughout the ship: "Large numbers of unidentified flying objects detected, all personnel prepare for combat."

Chu Xingyang said indifferently: "The intelligent beings of Southern Neighbor Two have been waiting for us in battle formation."

Yu Lan wiped the tears from her face, but her voice was very firm: "Please trust us, great deity."

She then gave instructions efficiently: "The shen yang flagship, provide cover. All divine might carrier aircraft and mech personnel, mobilize!"

She was both the vice captain of the divine might and the General Commander of this operation outside the star system.

Soon, the holographic equipment in the command room displayed the scene in outer space.

At this time, the two Blue Star starships were approaching the second planet of the Southern Neighbor Two stellar system.

They were still 2 million kilometers away from the second planet, which had intelligent life, but they had already been ambushed there.

The enemy had clearly made full preparations; nearly a thousand giant tumors, each fifty meters in size, were floating in the dark space, looking very eerie at first glance.

Yu Lan curiously connected to the infirmary: "What are these flying objects that look like human brain tissue? You're a doctor, you must know."

After a while, Wei Wei's voice came through: "I don't know! But the radio waves indicate that these are not just flying objects, but also pure living organisms."

"You have to know that creatures in the universe, including intelligent life, are not necessarily humanoid like us and the Liz People."

Soon, these brain-shaped tumors launched an attack, and flesh-colored nozzles coated with white slime emerged from the crevices of the tumors.

Then, over a thousand balls of light were spat out from the nozzles, shooting toward the Blue Star space fleet.

The two main vessels and many of the carrier aircraft and mechs that had just flown out were hit.

But everyone who suffered this round of attacks was shocked.

Because the power was really too small! Except for two mechs that caught fire and returned for repairs, the other equipment was almost undamaged.

But soon, Wei Wei's words made everyone nervous.

"All armor that has been hit must immediately return to the main vessel to clean off the white slime!"

At the same time, several maintenance spacecraft flew out from inside the divine might and the shen yang flagship. As soon as they left the hangar, they flew toward the parts of the starships hit by the balls of light and sprayed flames to roast the white slime.

Chu Xingyang suddenly felt a desire to fight: "Give me a humanoid mech, I'll go and meet them."

Yu Lan was stunned for a moment, then quickly lowered her head and said: "As the great deity commands, there is still a three-meter-tall Fierce Fire in the warehouse."

Mech squad leader Ba Weili saw the newly joined Fierce Fire and, knowing it was arranged by the vice captain, didn't ask any more questions.

He just shouted loudly: "With the Xingyang God above, all mech warriors, charge with me!"

Under his command, more than a hundred mechs sped toward those tumors.

Although the tumors were huge compared to the mechs and numerous in quantity, they were, after all, organic life forms.

How could flesh and blood be a match for nuclear-powered mechs?

Not long after the close-quarters combat began, they were either blown to pieces or burned into charred lumps by the flames of the Fierce Fire mechs.

Large amounts of flesh, blood mist, as well as reticular nerves and white slime, filled a large area of space.

Sitting in the humanoid mech, Chu Xingyang thoroughly enjoyed this hearty slaughter.

Even inside the cockpit, he could feel the thrill of his body smashing through chunks of flesh, or blades slicing open the tumors.

After the battle, he, like the other Fierce Fire mechs, used a flamethrower to roast the slime on his own hull and the hulls of the other mechs.

Many of these white slimes had already begun to coalesce into snake-like creatures, wriggling and crawling on the mechs.

Wei Wei's warning came through the speaker again and again: "Do not touch the slime, you will be parasitized by the white snakes, you will be parasitized by the white snakes!"

After the battle, Ba Weili, who had returned to the divine might, stepped out of his mech and patted Chu Xingyang on the shoulder vigorously: "Good job, young man. You were so brave in your first battle; you must be a loyal believer of the Xingyang God. The deity will protect you!"

Chu Xingyang remained silent, thinking to himself that, in fact, he didn't believe in himself that much either.

In this battle, five soldiers were still parasitized; their bodies mutated and they lost their humanity, struggling in pain, and Wei Wei had to tearfully end their suffering.

Chu Xingyang attended this grand space funeral.

Everyone wore a look of sorrow, but few shed tears.

He watched the coffins drifting away outside the porthole, realizing how much these people understood that death was indispensable on the journey of spreading the divine light.

After presiding over the funeral, Tu Kulei hid in a secluded corner and slammed his hands violently against the wall. He, who always maintained elegance in front of others, now looked ferocious and twisted.

"With the Xingyang God above, these heretics must all be slaughtered!"

Suddenly, the entire starship sounded an alarm again.

Yu Lan, on the captain's seat, roared: "There are over three thousand of them this time! Just how many brain tumors do they have?"

Wei Wei walked over at this moment and said urgently: "I just studied those tumor tissues; they have a social structure similar to insects. We must land and find the hive mind!"
