53: Chapter 53 New Discoveries

The Quantum Synchronous Conductor is the only device from the ruins of the advanced Civilization's battlefield that humans can skillfully operate, even if they do not understand the principles behind it.

Several scientists from the Wandering Earth arrived before the newborn Human Emperor, carrying a thick stack of data.

Chu Yuhang narrowed his eyes: "You have spent over two hundred years and several generations researching this; have you achieved any results?"

A white-haired old man flipped through the data tremblingly, then adjusted his glasses with shaking hands: "The information transmitted back by the Quantum Conductor shows that for the initial period after the Liz People passed through the wormhole, everything was normal, and the personnel on the spaceship showed no abnormalities."

"But not long after, many components on the spaceship, including the numerous sensors we installed on it, began to break down for unknown reasons. The spaceship's speed also dropped from one-tenth of the speed of light to one-thousandth."

Chu Yuhang looked impatient, his eyes flashing with a fierce light: "You have not found the cause of the breakdown after all these years? What are you all good for!"

Du Fei and Elisa, standing to the side, also showed some disappointment. After all, everyone had placed great expectations on the Wormhole Generator.

If it could be skillfully operated, it would allow the Earth to quickly traverse to a suitable stellar Habitable Zone.

But this concerns the survival of all humanity; before all potential risks are eliminated, no one dares to act rashly.

That is why they used the Liz People for experiments in the beginning to obtain data.

The experts shrank their necks in terror, extremely worried that the Emperor's rage would burn them.

A middle-aged scientist gathered his courage to defend himself: "But it is not that we have not gained anything. We discovered that ten years ago, the Liz Civilization's ecological spaceship was empty; everyone on board had been picked up."

Chu Yuhang frowned, looking disdainful: "What does that have to do with us? Who cares about the life or death of lab rats?"

The old man with glasses quickly added: "The star where the Civilization that picked them up is located is only two light-years away from the wormhole exit. It is a very young single-star system, with a star diameter of about 1.4 million kilometers and five planets."

Elisa and Du Fei could not help but widen their eyes. A young single-star system! Single-star systems only account for one-fourth of observed star systems, and that is after excluding a large number of aging stars.

What is more, it has a diameter similar to the Sun recorded in Earth's historical documents!

Is everything really such a coincidence?

You must know that for the Wandering Earth's original intended destination, Proxima Centauri, humans would be completely unable to survive there.

First, it is a triple-star system composed of three stars. Second, Proxima Centauri is too small and its temperature is too low; the Habitable Zone is extremely close to the star, so planets would be tidally locked and suffer severe destruction from stellar winds.

The universe is vast, boundless, and endless.

But finding a new home suitable for humanity is far more difficult than imagined.

Chu Yuhang was now interested: "So close? Are you sure you saw it clearly?"

"We saw it clearly." The old man bowed and nodded: "Their Civilization originated from the third planet of that star system, with a diameter of 13,000 kilometers, at a distance of 150 million kilometers from the star!"

Everyone who had just learned of this was shocked.

Could such a coincidence really exist in the vast universe!

Chu Yuhang immediately asked impatiently: "How far is that star system from us?"

The scientists lowered their heads: "The Wormhole Generator only records the path of each passage; it does not display distance or the location of the exit."

Elisa suppressed her inner excitement and pretended to be calm: "That means we can pass through the wormhole at any time, as long as we solve the breakdown problem."

Earth's new home is close at hand; the wandering humanity is about to possess a perfect habitat, ending the endless drifting in the vast universe.

Thinking of this, her whole body was trembling slightly.

Chu Yuhang's eyes were sharp: "Mobilize all resources and spare no effort to solve the safety issues of passing through the wormhole! If there are no results within three months, I will teleport you scientists over there. I will let you find the answer on the Liz People's empty spaceship!"
