61: Chapter 61

After the battle, the Gospel Army and the Divine Protection Army cleared the battlefield.

The Gospel Army's heaviest losses were Inside's sarcoma spaceships; however, since these were single-pilot flesh carrier aircraft, personnel losses were minimal.

Compared to the spoils from the Blue Star, these were practically negligible.

Gu Shuiqing, captain of the "divine ascension," beamed during a video call with Tomwence, captain of the "divine grace": "Thirty-six stellar-class starships equipped with warp engines! Our fleet training can hardly keep up. We even captured an Earthling captain!"

Tomwence remained calm: "Xingyang God above. Without the God's divine light shielding our ships, we would have surely lost, let alone gained any spoils."

Since the attack was primarily by Inside parasites, most of the captured Earth space warships were in pristine condition.

Even the single-person escape pods used to flee the warships were brand new.

However, when salvaged in space, some people Inside had already been parasitized. As soon as the small hatch opened, a large number of "white snakes" would swim out.

Captain Zhang Fang of Warship No. 035 had an uninfected escape pod; she became the highest-ranking officer among the 76 Earthlings captured.

Of course, the number of Earth personnel killed in action was certainly much higher than that.

These 76 people, along with the infiltration team of six, were imprisoned in the Holy See's dungeon.

As the doors were about to close, Chu Xingyang feigned a look of regret: "It's a pity your... whatever-his-name-is Yu Hang had to stay behind to oversee things after the coup and is busy with cyborg research. Otherwise, he might have been the highest-ranking prisoner."

Captain Zhang Fang stared at the young Bishop in disbelief, trembling as she spoke: "Does your Xingyang God really know everything?"

Elisa, having witnessed this long ago, was now utterly despondent, her face deathly pale.

Chu Xingyang had already walked away, but he waved his hand with his back to them: "Know everything? Perhaps. How would we dare to speculate on the mind of a God?"

Soon, he bumped into Missionary Officer Tu Kulei, who was returning to report on his work.

Tu Kulei briefly showed a look of confusion before stepping forward and lightly patting his shoulder: "It's good for a young man to be ambitious. But you can't just enter the Holy See whenever you want, and you can't just wear a Bishop's robes. As long as you are devout enough, I will give you more opportunities to enter the Holy See in the future."

Several nearby Priests were so terrified they scrambled over, shouting: "How dare you be so insolent to the newly appointed Bishop!"

Chu Xingyang patted the wide-eyed and open-mouthed Tu Kulei: "Little Lielie, I know you're shocked right now. But the God's appointments have their own divine reasons. You still have a long way to go. Keep it up, Little Lielie."

Tu Kulei watched the new Bishop's receding back, standing dazed for a long time before coming to his senses: "The Great Deity Xingyang is truly profound and unpredictable. My cultivation is still far from enough."

The 82 Earthlings were crowded into a relatively spacious cell. Chen Susu, who hadn't closed her eyes for days, seemed to fall into a sweet sleep because the dinosaur was safe and sound.

But upon waking, she immediately slapped herself hard. With so many casualties and losses for Earth, she was actually still worrying about a dinosaur—I deserve to die!

Zhang Fang comforted her compassionately: "Susu, don't be like this. The disparity in our strength is too great. This defeat has nothing to do with those of you who gathered intelligence."

The disheartened Elisa had completely lost her arrogant spirit, silently wiping away tears: "I don't want this Habitable Zone anymore. I want to go back to Earth. I don't want to stay in this strange place."

Du Fei looked at a nearby Priest: "How long are you going to keep us here? A warrior can be killed but not insulted!"

The Priest distributing food threw up his hands and said irritably: "You're asking me? How should I know! Without the Bishop's orders, we can't just execute you."

Chu Xingyang indeed had no time to deal with the Earth prisoners lately; instead, he had been tinkering with the fifty-plus captured Quantum Synchronous Conductors.

He discovered that he couldn't even create them using his "Matter Conversion" ability.

Under the day-and-night research of Xiliu, the Liz People, and Blue Star scientists, they discovered that each conductor actually contained a nearly immortal Spore Organism.

This seemed to be the key to the conductor's ability to perform real-time communication and data transmission across vast distances in the universe.

Chu Xingyang suddenly understood. No wonder! My Matter Conversion cannot create life; high-level alien civilizations certainly have their unique strengths.

Just as he was trying to find a way to crack it...

A shuttle from the Wandering Earth arrived outside the Oort Cloud.

After observing that it carried no weapons, the Blue Star allowed it to enter.

The shuttle landed on the surface of the Blue Star, and about a dozen Earth representatives stepped out. Leading them was Ye Gui, the General Commander of the Earth side during the last great war. Beside him was a ten-year-old Little Girl named Hope.

Ye Gui puffed out his chest in a show of bravado: "We are here to seek peace. We request the return of our personnel and warships. Also, if possible, we wish to personally meet your deity, the Xingyang God."

They were met by Tu Kulei and Xiliu.

Xiliu and Hope stared directly at each other.

Tu Kulei replied with an arrogant expression: "You heretics should not dream of seeing the God. As for the peace proposal, I will submit it to the Bishop."

Upon receiving the document, Chu Xingyang tore it to shreds without even looking at it, then shouted: "Peace proposal my ass! I only accept a plea for surrender!"

His voice echoed in the great hall for a long time.

Tu Kulei stood motionless until the snowflake-like pieces of paper had all drifted to the ground, then he slowly swept the scraps into a wastebasket.

Carrying the wastebasket and accompanied by Xiliu, he walked slowly toward the Earth delegation that had been waiting outside for a long time.

Standing straight and with an elegant, gentle posture, he said: "Peace proposal my ass! We only accept a plea for surrender!"
