He raved and ranted, "What the hell is going on with those two bastards, Alliance Member and Ate?"

"Didn't they say they were coming to save me?"

"How did they get defeated so quickly? Impossible! Those two civilizations can't possibly only have this much strength."

Soon, the Beixing Star Defense Minister, who had been monitoring the situation on the battlefield, came jogging over.

He was drenched in sweat, and his voice trembled as he reported, "President!"

"Alliance Member and Ate... specifically General Xiang and Sha Han, did indeed send a considerable number of warships to rescue us!"

"They even managed to fully suppress the forces of the Xingyang Civilization and the Resistance Army at one point!"

Upon hearing this catastrophic news, President Shi En's face turned ashen.

He wailed in frustration, "Those two pieces of trash, they've really screwed me over. I've been utterly betrayed by them."

The Defense Minister standing nearby stammered, "Then, should we... lead all the people in surrendering?"

Realizing he had spoken out of turn, the Defense Minister was terrified and immediately knelt on the ground.

He kowtowed and cried out, "President, I was wrong. I didn't think it through."

"I will follow whatever you decide!"

"Your words are the only Hope for the people of Beixing; only you can lead us out of this confusion!"

President Shi En's expression softened slightly.

He lowered his head, pondered for a moment, and ultimately made a desperate, scorched-earth decision.

He wore a vicious smile as he ordered, "Summon everyone here, including the civilians!"

"Have them surround and block all entrances to the Presidential Palace. They must swear to protect their President to the death!"

"I don't believe the Xingyang Civilization would kill tens of millions of my people just to capture me!"

"They certainly wouldn't dare to commit such an act of universal condemnation!"

The Defense Minister hesitated for a moment, but ultimately nodded firmly, "Yes, President. I will see to it immediately!"

President Shi En was very satisfied and said smugly, "This is what they should be doing anyway!"

"Any citizen who loves Beixing Star should protect me! I am Beixing Star!"

Having made these arrangements, although he was still deeply anxious, he felt at least a shred of confidence.

He remained convinced that his judgment was correct.

He believed that everyone on Beixing Star loved this planet, and loved him!

The people of Beixing Star panicked.

Some of them were forced to obey the Defense Minister's orders and gathered toward the Presidential Palace.

Others pulled out incredibly primitive weapons and began firing at the sky.

However, these obsolete, discarded pieces of equipment failed to damage a single warship high above.

Watching this, Wei Wei found it all very difficult to understand.

"What is wrong with these people? They have lived under the oppressive rule of the Shi Family for generations!"

"During the hardest times, they couldn't even feed or clothe themselves."

"The great famine even starved countless people to death!"

"Yet why are they still laying down their lives for the Shi Family? Can there really be such pathetic lifeforms in the universe?"
