101: Small actions
Qin Yun was stunned; he hadn't expected news in New York to travel so quickly.
He had only just returned to the manor, yet many people had arrived before him.
"Everyone, please don't rush. Speak slowly; I have plenty of time today."
These Tycoons were crowding around and all talking at once. Qin Yun couldn't hear a single word clearly and had to shout to maintain order.
Hearing the man of the hour speak, the Tycoons gave sheepish smiles, put some distance between themselves and those around them, and began stating their business in an orderly fashion.
"Congratulations! Another massive haul from a warehouse treasure hunt. Finding a Silver Mine map and getting a twenty percent stake—you've truly struck it rich."
"You're simply too incredible. To find a Silver Mine map in the middle of an event is truly remarkable."
"If you get the chance, please share some of your experience with us. We'd love to find top-tier warehouses like that too, hahaha."
"I am Cobert. My family specializes in mineral mining. Are you interested in collaborating with us?"
"I am the Chairman of the New York Mining Association. Congratulations on finding the Silver Mine. If you need anything, please feel free to contact me; I will certainly do my best to help. Here is my business card."
"I heard the Silver Mine is in Montana. I have a mining company there as well. If you run into any trouble, just contact me."
...Listening to the Treasure Hunters and Tycoons, Qin Yun understood why these people had come.
Many were just there to say hello and make their faces known, while some were there for the Silver Mine, hoping to get a piece of the action.
He couldn't help but feel a bit of a headache; so many people were too difficult to handle, so he gave Julia a look.
Julia stepped forward with a smile, took everyone's business cards and tucked them away carefully, then took a card from her bag printed with the Secondhand Store's address and contact information to give to them.
"I'm very happy to make so many friends in New York. It's an honor that everyone has shown me such respect by coming here. How can a nobody like me deserve everyone's kindness?"
"In the future, if there are any Warehouse Auctions or matters related to collectibles, you are very welcome to come and exchange experiences. As for the Silver Mine, I only have a twenty percent stake. All company matters are decided by Bruno. If you want to cooperate, just contact him."
Qin Yun responded to everyone's arrival with great enthusiasm, but he did not budge regarding the Silver Mine.
These were all major Tycoons and potential customers for his Secondhand Store; he had to leave them with a good impression.
But as for the Silver Mine, he didn't want to get involved at all.
In terms of business, Bruno was the professional. He was satisfied with his twenty percent stake and didn't want to cause Bruno any trouble.
After declining the crowd, Qin Yun and Julia returned to the room Arnold had booked.
Julia placed the bag full of business cards on the table and looked at Qin Yun with a face full of smiles.
"With today's harvest, this trip to New York hasn't been in vain. You've gained a treasure bowl; a Silver Mine can generate income for a long time. Plus, you've met so many Tycoons—the treasures in the Secondhand Store certainly won't lack a market. It's truly worth it."
Julia hadn't expected such a huge harvest just from helping Bruno out. Thinking about it now, it still felt incredible.
She looked at Qin Yun with eyes full of affection, thinking to herself: this is the man she had chosen; he was always creating miracles!
Qin Yun gave a faint smile, not taking the Silver Mine matter too much to heart.
However, being watched by Julia's burning gaze made his heart itch.
"It's nothing much, just a bit of good luck."
"Tomorrow's internal Warehouse Auction is the key. I'm curious what good things will be inside."
With the Profound Vision Treasure Eye, acquiring wealth was a simple matter. Qin Yun was now more looking forward to finding treasures, especially Xia Country antiques that had ended up abroad.
"Mm, I believe you will definitely win tomorrow."
Julia nodded heavily and leaned her head against Qin Yun's body.
She now had full confidence in Qin Yun's ability to evaluate warehouses, feeling that no matter who it was, they were no match for him.
Being able to participate in a Warehouse Auction with Qin Yun made her feel incredibly honored. Being able to experience such grand scenes with him was the best decision of her life.
Qin Yun involuntarily reached out and hugged Julia. They lay on the bed talking for a long time and did a few things, staying intimate until evening, until both their faces were flushed.
To prevent anything inappropriate for minors from happening, the two suppressed their impulsive temptations, took a shower, and planned to go out for a stroll.
Having come to a major American metropolis, it would be a waste of the New York trip not to walk around outside.
Once night fell, American roads were usually sparse with pedestrians and most shops were closed, making it likely to encounter unpleasant things.
But the bustling sections of New York were different, with bright glass displays on both sides filled with a dazzling array of luxury goods at a glance.
There were pedestrians coming and going on the sidewalks, and street performers singing or showing off their talents.
The lively streets gave Qin Yun a feeling of being back in his home country.
Holding Julia's hand, the two enjoyed the New York night scene together, popping into shops whenever they saw something interesting.
After wandering for over an hour, the two were already carrying over a dozen shopping bags.
They were all things they had bought for each other.
Coming out of a men's formal wear shop, Qin Yun's peripheral vision caught a familiar thin man.
That person had been behind them for quite a while, sneakily hiding behind billboards and not carrying a single item.
He instantly became alert. Was this person following him?
"Don't look back. We seem to be being followed, but don't worry, there's only one of them, and he's a weakling. I want to find out who sent him. Shall we try him out in the alley up ahead?"
Qin Yun whispered into Julia's ear.
After speaking, he continued walking forward as if nothing were wrong.
Hearing that they were being followed, Julia grew nervous, and her grip on Qin Yun's hand tightened significantly.
She soon relaxed; with Qin Yun there, there was nothing to fear.
Qin Yun could handle thugs with guns, so what was there to fear from a little sneak?
So she leaned sweetly against Qin Yun, and they walked toward the alley like lovers.
The man following Qin Yun felt a bit uncomfortable seeing the two acting so intimate, forced to swallow a lot of 'dog food'.
A cold smile appeared on his face as he thought to himself.
This task was too easy. The IQ of a couple in love was practically negative; they didn't pay any attention to their surroundings at all.
This time, he would definitely perform perfectly.
Seeing the two turn into a dark alley, a lecherous grin appeared on the man's face.
These two were too thirsty; they couldn't even wait this little bit of time. Instead of going back to the hotel, were they going to do something in the dark?
Without a second thought, the thin man walked straight to the entrance of that alley.
Leaning against the wall, he poked his head in to see the situation in the alley.
He thought he would see a spicy scene, but instead, he saw Qin Yun's half-smiling face.
Stunned for a moment, his body involuntarily recoiled, and he nearly fell to the ground.
"Why are you following us?"
Qin Yun barked coldly.
"You, you guys..."
"Don't make false accusations. I was just looking into the alley. To say I was following you—that's simply not true."
"I was just curious to see what was happening in the alley. Is that not allowed?"
A look of panic was on the thin man's face, followed by repeated headshakes as he desperately denied Qin Yun's words.
"I hope your mouth stays this stubborn forever."
Qin Yun gave a cold laugh, grabbed the man's collar, and slammed him hard against the wall.
The thin man felt his breathing become labored. Seeing Qin Yun's cold, murderous gaze, he instantly panicked.
He had a feeling that if he didn't speak, Qin Yun would kill him without hesitation.
"Let go of me, I'll talk. Just let go, and I'll tell you everything."
The thin man's face was pale as his mental defenses were instantly crushed, and he surrendered.
Qin Yun let go, and the thin man slumped to the ground, coughing several times and gasping for air for a long time before standing up.
"I was sent by Walter. He told me to monitor your every move."
