96: Rookie Battle

Qin Yun was stunned.

How is that possible?

What kind of treasure in this warehouse could be so valuable?

He scanned it again, guessing that the blueprints or the contents of the bottles might be treasures.

If he hadn't promised to help Bruno, Qin Yun would have wanted to buy this warehouse himself.

"This warehouse has some value; you can bid on it just for the fun of it."

Qin Yun had seen many good warehouses; although he was tempted, he was unwilling to violate his principles for a warehouse with purple treasure light.

He decided to give Bruno the chance to bid on this best warehouse.

Given Bruno's showy personality, he certainly wouldn't be able to resist.

Since he was helping, he might as well let Bruno have the time of his life.

Bruno was stunned; could there really be good things in this warehouse?

However, out of trust in Qin Yun's past performance, especially his very accurate judgment of the previous two warehouses,

he decided to trust Qin Yun.

Besides, he was sure to win this time, but since he hadn't participated in the bidding yet, his hands were getting a bit itchy.

"Alright, when I'm not sure about the price, I'll ask you."

Bruno thought for a moment and nodded in agreement.

Humphrey and Walter saw the state of the third warehouse.

Their expressions changed; it was full of junk.

No matter how arrogant Bruno was, he wouldn't bid a high price for this warehouse.

They were destined to lose this competition!

"Starting bid is three hundred, with minimum increments of fifty. I declare the auction officially open."

As the Auctioneer finished speaking, sparse bidding sounds rose from the floor.

"One hundred."

"One hundred and fifty."

...When the price reached three hundred dollars, no one else on the floor placed a bid.

Just as the Auctioneer was about to start the countdown, Bruno straightened the corner of his jacket, looking like a big shot from a movie.

He raised his hand with a smile.

"I'll bid one thousand."

Hearing Bruno bid one thousand dollars, everyone on the floor was stunned.

This was completely a junk warehouse; why would Bruno bid a thousand dollars?

Could he be using this last warehouse to humiliate Humphrey?

If Humphrey didn't follow the bid, he would seem too lacking in confidence.

"Is Bruno trying to crush his spirit?"

"Haha, that's hilarious. Is this some kind of 'bungee jumping over a grave' move to humiliate Humphrey?"

"Bruno has already won, yet he's still bidding high on this warehouse. This is a direct insult to Humphrey."

"If I were Humphrey, I definitely wouldn't be able to swallow this insult. I'd bid even if it meant losing money."

"Humphrey is so pathetic. He lost so much money on the second warehouse, and now he has to fork out more for this third junk warehouse."

...Humphrey was fuming; Bruno was truly trying to crush his spirit.

So what if he won this time? Did he have to be so arrogant?

"Two thousand."

Humphrey gritted his teeth and added another thousand dollars.

He hated Bruno to death, but for the sake of his reputation, he could only painfully swallow this bitter pill.

"Three thousand."

Without a second thought, Bruno also added a thousand.

With Qin Yun's judgment, Bruno was very relaxed. It was just a bit of money, and he had plenty.

Humphrey began to feel suspicious.

Bruno was someone who couldn't hide his feelings; his calm expression didn't look like he was playing tricks.

So what exactly was he planning?

Was he acting on Qin Yun's instructions to trap him once again?

How could he fall for it again with this junk warehouse?

"It seems Qin Yun let Bruno handle the bidding for this warehouse. If you and Bruno get into a heated bidding war, there might still be a hope of winning."

Walter reminded him in a low voice.

He had invested a lot of energy in Humphrey; he was truly unwilling to give up like this.

He didn't think much of the warehouse, but it wasn't his money, and for a slim chance of winning,

he proposed this seemingly absurd suggestion.

Humphrey thought for a while.

Money wasn't the most critical thing to him; what he cared about was his reputation.

If he could beat Bruno in this competition, he wouldn't be the one being mocked by everyone.

He had lost over seventy thousand dollars on the second warehouse.

Bruno had made about ten thousand dollars on the first warehouse.

If Bruno lost ninety thousand dollars on this warehouse, he could win this match.

The hope was slim, but it was worth a try.

"Five thousand."

After shouting his bid, Humphrey gave Bruno a provocative look.

Bruno was someone who couldn't stand being provoked and immediately raised the bid: "Ten thousand."

It's just money; I have plenty of it.

You add three thousand, I'll add five thousand. I won't be weaker than you.

Seeing Bruno getting worked up, Humphrey was ecstatic and shouted, "Twenty thousand."

After shouting it, he felt a bit of regret; he should have taken it step by step.

Was a ten-thousand-dollar increment too much? Would Bruno fall for it?

Hearing the twenty-thousand-dollar bid, Bruno was a bit stunned.

What's going on? Does Humphrey also think this warehouse is good?

He turned back to Qin Yun, asking with his eyes whether he should continue bidding.

Qin Yun nodded; twenty thousand dollars was nothing for a warehouse with purple treasure light.

He also noticed the movements on Humphrey's side and suddenly felt some regret.

Was it too reckless to let a Rookie like Bruno handle the bidding for this warehouse?

This would cost several times more than if he had handled it himself.

Considering Bruno was a Tycoon,

as long as he could personally win the treasure, even if it cost more money, he would be willing, so Qin Yun said nothing.

With Qin Yun's affirmation, Bruno felt very confident.

"Thirty thousand."

Bruno triumphantly shouted out the high bid of thirty thousand and looked at Humphrey with a smile.

Humphrey was completely bewildered.

What on earth was happening?

Could the other party actually be interested in this junk warehouse?

"Fifty thousand."

After thinking for a moment, Humphrey took another risk and added twenty thousand dollars.

This time, Bruno added ten thousand dollars.

Thinking that the hundred-thousand-dollar goal was right before him, he didn't dare to go too far and also added ten thousand dollars.

After several increments, Bruno got a bit carried away, and when he called out one hundred thousand dollars, he immediately began to regret it.

One hundred thousand dollars had reached his internal warning line, and he did some mental math.

If the items in this warehouse weren't worth twenty thousand dollars, he might lose this match.

Bruno had finally managed to beat Humphrey for once.

He absolutely would not allow himself to lose the match because of his own impulsiveness.

He would be mocked by everyone for a long time.

The key was that he had gone to great lengths to invite Qin Yun, a big shot in treasure hunting.

He wouldn't have such good luck in the future.

Thinking of this, Bruno immediately snapped out of it and looked at Qin Yun with a worried expression.

"Is one hundred thousand too high? If Humphrey raises the bid again, should I keep following?"

Bruno was regretting it now.

Everything in this warehouse was visible at a glance; even if Qin Yun found a valuable treasure, it couldn't be worth that much.

If he lost, he would blame himself for months.

Qin Yun also saw through Humphrey's plan.

They definitely couldn't see the warehouse's value; they were going all-in just to win today's match, betting that Bruno had already lost his head and would bid a high price to take the warehouse.

The two of them were also constantly watching his and Bruno's reactions.

Thinking of this, Qin Yun deliberately waited for a moment before whispering.

"Don't worry, if the bid exceeds the value of the warehouse, I'll warn you."

Hearing Qin Yun's words, Bruno's face lit up, and he was completely at ease.

Humphrey and Walter were constantly watching the situation with Qin Yun and Bruno.

Seeing the two of them talking, Humphrey immediately became suspicious.

Now that Bruno had snapped out of his heated state, he probably wouldn't fall for it again.

But what was with that smile on Bruno's face?

Was one hundred thousand dollars a bit unsafe?

"Do you think we should keep bidding?"

Humphrey had no idea and asked Walter in a low voice.
