12: Xia Kingdom Kung Fu

"Even the history of chopsticks is longer than the national history of your barbarian country!"

"Chopsticks are round at the top and square at the bottom, seven inches and six-tenths long, representing the round heaven and the square earth, as well as the seven emotions and six desires. Does your cutlery have such depth?"

"A pair of chopsticks consists of two pieces, representing Yin and Yang, uniting as one!"

"When using chopsticks, one is active and the other is still, harmonizing with each other and embodying the principles of Yin and Yang."

"Speaking of being uncivilized, when the Chinese were already using chopsticks, you didn't even know what cutlery was! Barbarians!"

Julia spoke with righteous indignation, her words so powerful that the crowd couldn't find any retort.

Everyone was shocked to learn about the origin of chopsticks; who knew two small wooden sticks contained such profound wisdom?

"Everything she said is true. Chopsticks indeed have a history of over five thousand years."

"The Chinese used to use knives and forks too, but they found them to be limited, which led to the invention of chopsticks."

"It's just that you all are ignorant!"

The speaker was a man of great prestige locally. Hearing him say this, most people lowered their heads in shame.

Qin Yun hadn't expected Julia and the old man to have such a deep understanding of Chinese culture.

He secretly admired them, realizing that Chinese culture had quite a following in America as well.

However, there was a table of burly men who refused to accept that chopsticks were superior to knives and forks.

They slammed the table, their faces flushed with anger as they aggressively surged forward, intending to teach the two a lesson.

Julia hadn't expected these people to fly into a rage and resort to violence in public.

She was trembling with fear, yet she gritted her teeth and stood her ground, not wanting to let Qin Yun get involved.

Facing this group of aggressive thugs, Qin Yun didn't feel the slightest bit of fear.

As the crowd closed in, his Profound Vision Treasure Eye activated in an instant.

Under the Profound Vision Treasure Eye, gray light spots of varying sizes appeared on their bodies.

This was a new function he had recently discovered: the Profound Vision Treasure Eye could perceive the weaknesses of all things, and Qin Yun only needed to attack them to dismantle everything.

With a punch that seemed effortless, he sent a burly man flying back, knocking him unconscious on the spot.

The remaining men were stunned and immediately began to retreat.

Everyone had thought the Eastern Kid would be brutally beaten by the thugs, but they hadn't expected him to floor one of them with just a casual punch.

"How is this possible? How can this kid be so strong!"

"This isn't scientific! Where on earth did he get that power?"

"Oh my god, I know! This is Kung Fu! Chinese Kung Fu!"

...The onlookers began to clap, some even looking at him with a hint of admiration.

"Anyone else want to try?"

Qin Yun's simple question made the thugs feel he was unfathomable.

"Boss, this kid isn't simple. He might be one of those legendary Kung Fu masters. Should we pull back for now?"

"Yeah, exactly. I heard that in Chinese Kung Fu, even a sixty-year-old man can take on ten people. It might not be a tall tale!"

The man called 'Boss' glared fiercely at Qin Yun, but ultimately, he helped his fallen comrade up and left while cursing under his breath.

"Qin Yun, I didn't know you knew Kung Fu, and that you were so good at it!"

"That punch just now was Chinese Kung Fu, right?"

Julia looked at Qin Yun, her eyes filled with admiration.

"It's nothing special. It's just Military Boxing I learned in high school. Almost every student in China knows it; it's really nothing."

Qin Yun waved it off with a smile, speaking softly, yet everyone heard him clearly.

Seeing the fierce young man return to his refined manner and quietly continue eating, they began to whisper among themselves.

"If even Military Boxing is this powerful, how incredible must the legendary Kung Fu be?"

"Didn't you hear him? Every Chinese person knows it. That's terrifying!"

"It seems the rumors are true—everyone in China knows Kung Fu. I heard a man in his fifties or sixties can take down several thugs with it."

"From now on, if we see a Chinese person, we'd better walk the other way. They all know Kung Fu!"

...Neither Qin Yun nor Julia paid any mind to the strange looks from the crowd, continuing their meal leisurely.

Both used chopsticks to eat their pasta. Qin Yun was surprised at how flexible Julia's slender hands were with chopsticks and couldn't help but comment.

"You use chopsticks better than most people in China, and you know so much about Chinese culture. That's truly impressive."

Julia wiped her mouth with a napkin. "My mother is Chinese, so I naturally learned about it through her influence."

"You, on the other hand, are a man of hidden talents. I didn't know you were so skilled."

They chatted as they ate.

After finishing their meal and having a cold drink, they saw it was almost time, so they drove to the Storage Company.

Upon arriving at their destination, many Treasure Hunters were already there waiting for the auction.

After parking the car, Qin Yun saw a familiar figure as soon as he stepped out.

It was Brother Wu Ying, with whom he'd had some friction before.

And the tall, sturdy men standing around Brother Wu Ying were the same group he had taught a lesson to in the restaurant.

Seeing this, Qin Yun knew that this Warehouse Auction might not be simple.

Brother Wu Ying's background wasn't simple to begin with, and since they'd had a conflict during a previous Warehouse Auction, he surely held a grudge.

Not to mention that Qin Yun had just taught his lackeys a lesson; it would be a miracle if he let that slide.

Brother Wu Ying noticed Qin Yun's arrival. A cold glint flashed in his eyes and vanished as he walked forward with a smile.

"Hey, isn't this the Eastern Kid who's been making a name for himself in Borton City? What brings you to this small place?"

The thugs felt quite a bit of fear when they saw Qin Yun, but seeing Brother Wu Ying there, their courage grew significantly.

A guy with a black eye stood beside Brother Wu Ying, complaining through gritted teeth.

"Brother Wu Ying, this is the guy we told you about. He actually dared to lay a hand on us in the restaurant. He clearly doesn't respect you. You have to settle the score for us, otherwise..."

Before the man could finish, Brother Wu Ying slapped him right across the face.

This slap didn't just leave the lackey dazed; even Qin Yun was taken aback.

"The Eastern Kid isn't someone for you to gossip about. He's a celebrity in the Treasure Hunting Circle. Speak with some respect!"

"What are you standing there for? Apologize to him right now!" His tone grew cold as he saw his lackey staring blankly while clutching his face.

The lackey was completely bewildered, but he didn't dare to disobey Brother Wu Ying's command.

He could only lower his head toward Qin Yun, his face full of resentment. "I'm sorry. I was wrong before."

Qin Yun smiled. "It's fine. We were just messing around."

He saw the ill intent in Brother Wu Ying's eyes and knew he was a smiling tiger, definitely harboring some sinister plot.

Qin Yun made a mental note of it but didn't take it too much to heart.

With the Profound Vision Treasure Eye, he could handle whatever tricks Brother Wu Ying might try to pull during the Warehouse Auction.

Seeing his lackey apologize, Brother Wu Ying's face once again wore a cold smile.

"Qin Yun, right? You made a fortune at the last auction. It looks like we'll have a chance to compete properly today!"
