77: A Twist of Fate

The Frauer Family was delighted to hear that Qin Yun would stay for the Warehouse Auction.

To ensure Qin Yun's comfort, the entire Frauer family busied themselves.

Frauer's parents began preparing dinner, Frauer went to town to buy drinks, and Elma started cleaning the house.

Seeing The Frauer Family so busy, Qin Yun felt a bit guilty.

The family's hospitality was a bit overwhelming, making him feel somewhat uneasy, which was why he had initially suggested leaving as soon as possible.

However, the Warehouse Auction was what he cared about most; he wanted to see what a formal Warehouse Auction in the West looked like, so he agreed to stay one more day.

In the evening, Elma brought two basins of foot-soaking water for Qin Yun and Julia.

When they finished, they tried to pour the water out themselves, but Elma adamantly refused.

She looked as if she would burst into tears if they didn't let her do it.

With no other choice, Qin Yun had to let Elma discard the water.

He secretly planned to take good care of Elma once they returned to Borton City.

Because her feet had been soaked in hot water, Julia's pretty face was slightly flushed.

Sharing a blanket with him, she felt a bit restless, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep.

At that moment, a strong wind picked up outside, followed by a torrential downpour with thunder and lightning; looking out the window, it seemed like a scene from the end of the world.

The soundproofing in the Frauers House was poor, and it stood isolated on a hillside.

Seeing a rainstorm so different from the city, Julia—whether out of fear or something else—kept inching closer to Qin Yun's side.

Seeing no reaction from Qin Yun, she directly rested her head on his chest.

She shifted around under the covers for a long time until she found a comfortable position.

Feeling Qin Yun's breath and scent, Julia felt exceptionally safe, and the terrifying scene outside became less frightening.

Julia was only wearing a silk nightgown.

To avoid making Julia embarrassed, Qin Yun initially didn't make a sound, pretending to be asleep.

"What's wrong? Is the noise outside keeping you awake?"

Qin Yun shifted his body slightly, only then did things quiet down a bit.

Julia sensed Qin Yun's unusual state, and her face turned bright red.

Thinking that it was pitch black and Qin Yun couldn't see her embarrassment, she didn't shy away this time.

"It's nothing, I just feel very comfortable by your side."

"Qin Yun, you're so good!"

Having uttered these words that were practically a confession, Julia began to feel conflicted.

What if Qin Yun didn't agree?

Was she being too forward? What if Qin Yun thought she was a flighty person?

Thinking about everything he had experienced with Julia—both the dangers and the happiness.

He was deeply moved, and his state of mind gradually calmed down.

He felt Julia move even closer, showing no resistance to his movements at all.

Qin Yun moved up a bit and pulled Julia's entire body onto him.

Julia wrapped her arms around Qin Yun's waist, resting her head on his broad chest.

At this moment, she felt like the happiest person in the world.

It was a dreamless night; when they looked at each other the next morning, there was a hint of awkwardness in their eyes.

It wasn't until Frauer came to get them for breakfast that the atmosphere broke and they returned to normal.

Qin Yun, Julia, and Frauer went together to the town's newly built plaza.

That was the location of the Warehouse Auction.

After what happened last night, Qin Yun and Julia's relationship had taken another step forward.

Both were very relaxed, treating this trip as a leisurely vacation and a chance to see a different kind of Warehouse Auction.

Many people had already gathered around the plaza.

But there were no professional Treasure Hunters, as Qin Yun could tell.

The townspeople treated this Warehouse Auction as an outing and didn't take it too seriously.

It seemed there wouldn't be anything good at this Warehouse Auction.

In a remote place with not much history, how could there be anything good?

Qin Yun, an Easterner, and Julia, a stunning beauty who looked very noble and well-bred.

The two of them, holding hands, attracted everyone's attention as soon as they reached the plaza.

When everyone saw Frauer following behind them, they immediately understood.

This handsome and elegant young man was Qin Yun.

He was the peerless expert who had single-handedly killed five or six of Golden Tooth's thugs.

That group of thugs had lorded it over the town for many years, colluding with the authorities and becoming a major menace to all the town's residents.

Qin Yun had killed so many people and yet walked out of the police station unscathed.

Even more strangely, the police station began arresting the thugs, and the town's public security instantly improved by leaps and bounds.

So, they were also using the Warehouse Auction as an opportunity to celebrate.

"So that's Qin Yun? Why does he look like a college student?"

"What do you know? The more low-key someone looks, the more powerful they are. Experts aren't like street thugs; they are very humble and don't show off their martial prowess all the time!"

"Who would have thought that such a clean-cut young man would be such a peerless powerhouse!"

"He must have a very high background; otherwise, the authorities wouldn't have purged the town's thugs!"

"Yeah, don't listen to the authorities' pretty words about 'eliminating evils for the people.' They knew about Golden Tooth's gang long ago and even colluded with them. Why didn't they clean them up sooner? It's all because of Qin Yun!"

"This is a real big shot. To be able to cause such a sensation in a strange place just by relying on his own ability and status—his influence is simply too strong."

"Exactly. It's lucky Qin Yun came to our town. With Golden Tooth and those thugs around, who knows how much more we would have suffered?"

...Everyone looked at Qin Yun with grateful eyes.

Thinking of Qin Yun's record and fearing his power, no one dared to step forward to talk to him; they only discussed him in low voices with those around them.

After the auction began, Qin Yun glanced carelessly at the warehouse and found it full of agricultural machinery.

He didn't take it to heart and strolled leisurely around the plaza with Julia.

Qin Yun and Julia hadn't expected to find anything good in the warehouses here.

Seeing that the warehouses were filled with worthless items, the two treated it as a sightseeing trip.

When the bidding started, the people on site shouted enthusiastically, but the price increments were very small.

It felt like they were just participating for the sake of it.

Because there was nothing good in the warehouse, only seeding tools from many years ago.

Most of the people here were from farms and could estimate the value of the machinery at a glance.

Since the machines were outdated, interest in buying them was not high.

After bidding for a long time, the price only reached three hundred and thirty dollars.

Qin Yun and Julia took a lap around the park, and by the time they returned, the last warehouse was being opened.

Qin Yun took a glance and noticed many scattered Ancient Books inside.

His interest was piqued instantly.

Could there be something good in this warehouse?

He hadn't used the Profound Vision Treasure Eye once today.

Feeling curious, he activated the Profound Vision Treasure Eye with the intention of giving it a try.

A soaring golden treasure light was incredibly dazzling, shooting straight into the clouds.

Qin Yun understood immediately.

There was a top-tier treasure in this warehouse!
