97: Come see the treasure!

Walter was also unsure of what Qin Yun and Bruno were thinking.

Bruno was easy to read, but Qin Yun was different; he was as cunning as a little fox. Even as a veteran, Walter was no match for him when it came to Warehouse Auctions.

“Judging by how happy Bruno looks, it seems he got Qin Yun's permission to raise the price. We've already come this far; would you be satisfied if you lost now?”

Walter didn't care how much money Humphrey would lose. He wanted Humphrey to win this competition, so he secretly encouraged Humphrey to keep bidding.

The Treasure Hunters on the scene were all stunned.

What on earth was going on?

Why would Walter and Bruno bid such high prices for a piece of junk warehouse?

Was this just the capriciousness of the wealthy?

Throwing away over a hundred thousand dollars just for a bit of face.

In their eyes, this warehouse was worthless; at most, one might gamble one or two hundred dollars on it.

“Holy crap, are these two crazy?”

“When they find out the warehouse isn't worth a cent, what kind of expression will the person who bought it for over a hundred thousand dollars have?”

“Bruno is still too impulsive. As long as he didn't go over ninety thousand, he definitely would have won this match. Going up to a hundred thousand was still too reckless.”

“It started with Bruno provoking Humphrey, but now Bruno is stuck. This is going to be a good show.”

“If I were Humphrey, I'd let Bruno have this warehouse. As for winning or losing, that depends on the valuation; both of them have a chance at victory.”

...Humphrey glanced at the gloating Bruno and decided to trust Walter one more time.

“One hundred and ten thousand.”

To prevent Bruno from seeing his lack of confidence, Humphrey shouted the bid very loudly.

With Qin Yun's assurance, Bruno wasn't afraid of Humphrey at all and raised the price to one hundred and twenty thousand dollars.

After several rounds of bidding, when Bruno reached two hundred thousand dollars, he started to get a bit frantic.

“I bid two hundred thousand dollars.”

“If you raise it again, I don't want this damn warehouse anymore!”

Bruno walked up to Humphrey aggressively and spoke with a face full of anger.

He had already figured out Humphrey's game; this guy was just intentionally causing trouble.

Thinking about how they had been friends for over ten years, yet the man was trying to screw him out of two hundred thousand dollars over this, even the best-tempered person would be enraged.

Humphrey wasn't annoyed; he looked at Bruno with a half-smile.

“I never wanted this warehouse in the first place. Since you want it so badly, I'll let you have it.”

“But if you lose the competition, don't forget to buy everyone a drink. Breaking your word isn't a quality a gentleman should have.”

Seeing his plan succeed—and far exceeding his expectations—Humphrey could no longer contain himself and burst out laughing.

It was a complete turn of events. He had thought he was certain to lose today's contest.

He hadn't expected that by slightly exploiting Bruno's arrogance, he would miraculously snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, making a comeback from an absolute disadvantage.

“It seems you just weren't meant to win. Even with such a powerful consultant, you still lost. Get ready to be kept under my thumb for the rest of your life.”

With a contemptuous glance at Qin Yun and Bruno, Humphrey and Walter walked toward the warehouse door with their arms around each other's shoulders.

He wanted to see exactly why Bruno would bid two hundred thousand dollars for this piece of junk warehouse.

He had already prepared his taunts in his head, waiting for the moment his friend was dejected to add fuel to the fire.

Seeing Humphrey's look of successful trickery, Bruno felt a sense of foreboding.

Was two hundred thousand dollars too much?

Would this exceed the limit Qin Yun had set for him?

He had been too excited during the bidding and had forgotten about Qin Yun's presence.

He looked at Qin Yun with a face full of apprehension and said somewhat sheepishly, “Qin Yun, do you think I was tricked?”

“I got too carried away and didn't hear if you tried to warn me. If we lose the competition, it's all my fault; it has nothing to do with you.”

Bruno felt very uncertain. He lacked the knowledge to see the value of the warehouse.

Although Qin Yun saw that there were treasures in the warehouse, he hadn't told him the maximum price to bid.

If it weren't for so many people watching, he would have wanted to flee this place and never open this warehouse for the rest of his life.

Qin Yun smiled faintly.

“It's fine. Taking this warehouse for two hundred thousand dollars is just right.”

After saying that, he walked straight into the warehouse.

Qin Yun was curious about what exactly was inside this warehouse that emitted a purple treasure light.

Entering the warehouse, Qin Yun wiped a clean spot on a corner of the table and began to organize the scattered blueprints.

There were very few things here. If there were any valuable treasures, they would either be the blueprints or the jars and bottles nearby.

At this point, Bruno didn't care about losing face anymore.

He placed the jars and bottles on the table and examined them one by one.

There were labels on the bottles; according to the records, they were for storing and identifying ore specimens.

His heart instantly sank halfway.

After checking all the bottles, he was completely disappointed.

Bruno had thought there would be precious minerals.

But reality was cruel; the specimens in the bottles were just ordinary ores.

He glanced at Qin Yun, who was organizing the blueprints. Seeing Qin Yun's solemn expression, which didn't look like he had found any treasure, Bruno was utterly despondent.

How could this happen?

If only he had restrained his inner impulse and not bid so much on the third warehouse, it would have been a guaranteed win.

Looking at it now, he had lost again.

He was going to be mocked by Humphrey again.

In the future, without Qin Yun's help, it would be even more impossible for him to beat Humphrey.

Was he going to have to give up the hobby he loved?

If he was going to be belittled by Humphrey at every Warehouse Auction, he'd rather not participate at all!

Seeing Bruno dazed on the spot, Humphrey laughed wantonly.

“This is killing me! My good friend really gave me a chance. If it weren't for your heroic bidding on the third warehouse, the loser would definitely have been me.”

“You can't even handle this little setback, can you? No way, right? You're a big Tycoon, how could you be short of two hundred thousand? If you can't take it, I can lend you two hundred thousand, as long as you don't forget to buy everyone a drink.”

Having felt some fear earlier, Humphrey was now venting all his frustration, and his words were much more excessive than before.

“Oh, isn't this the famous and confident Qin Yun? What's wrong? Doesn't feel good to be unable to prop up a useless person, does it? If you hadn't made a mistake on the third warehouse, you would have definitely won, but now I'm the one laughing last.”

Walter clutched his stomach and laughed, echoing Humphrey's words.

This reversal was truly entertaining, and everyone was enjoying the spectacle.

“Haha, this is hilarious! Bruno is so stupid; he threw away a guaranteed win.”

“Is this the IQ of the wealthy? They treat Warehouse Auctions like a game, but this time he became the joke himself.”

“Bruno is so stupid it's almost cute; I can hardly bear to mock him.”

“What's there to be embarrassed about? These guys are worse at Warehouse Auctions than I am. If you're bad at it, you deserve to be mocked!”

“If there were a few more suckers like this, the Storage Company would probably die of laughter!”

...Hearing the crowd's mockery, Bruno's mood was like a roller coaster.

Even as someone generally optimistic, he couldn't quite take it.

He stood to the side gloomily, looking as if he had lost his soul, devoid of any spirit.

Qin Yun looked through the blueprints and experimental records and already knew the reason for the purple treasure qi in the warehouse.

Turning around to see Bruno looking like a resentful woman, he was suddenly amused.

“Don't just stand there dazed. Come over and see the treasure!”
