95: Wanderer Warehouse
Humphrey’s face was dark, almost dripping water.
Losing eighty thousand dollars only caused him a slight pang of heartache, but being mocked by everyone, especially seeing Bruno laughing so happily...
The anger in his heart surged uncontrollably.
He fiercely kicked a pile of sand on the ground, pushed past the crowd, and silently walked to an empty corner.
Seeing this, Walter also followed Humphrey into the corner.
“Are you alright? We still have a chance to win.”
Hearing Walter say there was still a chance, Humphrey could no longer hold back.
“Still a chance? What nonsense are you spouting? Bruno is guaranteed to win without doing anything! What do you mean by making me lose face in front of so many people?”
“Didn't you say that Eastern Kid wasn't worth mentioning? How come his eyesight is so accurate while you're useless!”
“If you hadn't boasted, I wouldn't have lost so badly. This is all your fault. If no miracle happens, you can scram after today!”
Humphrey's temper suddenly exploded, and he rained down a torrent of abuse on Walter.
He forgot that Walter had even warned him when they bid on the second warehouse, completely blaming Walter for the failure.
Walter was so angry he wanted to curse. He had won against Bruno so many times before, yet Humphrey was throwing such a huge tantrum over just one loss.
His opponent was the mysterious Eastern Kid.
Participating in this kind of competition was like an adult bullying a child—it was a Dimension Reduction Attack.
If his strength was inferior, there was nothing he could do.
Thinking of his efforts over many days to please Humphrey turning into thin air, Walter felt extremely unwilling.
“Don't give up, we still have a chance.”
“Qin Yun is flawless when it comes to Warehouse Auctions, but Bruno is extremely arrogant. If you flatter him a few times, he'll forget his own name. We need to target him.”
After Walter finished speaking, he glared fiercely at Qin Yun.
This kid ruined everything. When the time is right, I will get back everything, principal and interest, from him.
“We'll do as you say.”
Humphrey pondered for a moment and said reluctantly.
He had no choice but to agree to Walter's suggestion.
“Congratulations, you've definitely won this time. The consultant you found is truly amazing. Could you introduce him to me?”
Humphrey walked up to Bruno, enduring the nausea, and spoke insincerely.
Bruno waved his hand, looking generous.
“It's nothing, this is all thanks to Qin Yun.”
“I am willing to introduce Qin Yun to you, but I can't speak for him. I spent a great deal of effort persuading Qin Yun to participate in our competition. He is a very busy person and might not have time for you.”
Bruno still cared about Humphrey as a friend, and everything he said was the truth.
Hearing their conversation, Qin Yun sneered and ignored Humphrey, that hypocritical scoundrel.
Humphrey was just about to greet Qin Yun, but seeing him turn his face away, his heart chilled.
He's just a stinking Treasure Hunter, what is there to be proud of?
He sneered and walked away immediately.
He mused that Qin Yun ignoring him must have been at Bruno's instruction.
Otherwise, a Treasure Hunter would be scrambling to Curry favor with him, and certainly wouldn't act so aloof.
In his eyes, Bruno was a hypocrite, bright and shiny on the surface, but who knew how dark he was behind the scenes?
After Bruno finished showing off in front of Humphrey, the excitement in his heart refused to dissipate.
“Qin, I feel absolutely wonderful today! Even someone as arrogant as Humphrey had to bow his head to me. The moment he congratulated me just now could keep me happy for weeks.”
“Hahaha, I can't hold it in anymore! Humphrey's expression was just too hilarious. If I were allowed, I'd love to take a picture with my phone and make it into an album to hang by my bedside!”
Bruno was amused by his own idea.
The gloom of being suppressed by Humphrey in the past vanished, leaving only the exhilarating feeling of satisfaction in his heart.
Qin Yun shook his head, utterly speechless toward Bruno.
This is too childish. We haven't won yet; is there a need to be this excited?
Hearing Bruno laugh arrogantly again, Humphrey clenched his fists tightly, further confirming his previous judgment that Bruno was a true villain.
Bruno and Humphrey were the focus of everyone's attention, and seeing their behavior, people began to discuss it.
“Humphrey lost big on this warehouse. He definitely has no hope of turning things around in this competition.”
“Bruno is laughing so happily, it makes me want to laugh along too.”
“Bruno lost so many times, but now his luck has finally turned. He must be thrilled.”
“The consultant he found is amazing. He looks so young. Who is this expert who can judge such a difficult warehouse so accurately?”
“Now that I think about it, that kid is truly remarkable, not falling for such a deceptive warehouse!”
...The Host was now a little embarrassed that the warehouse he had hyped up so much turned out like this.
Compared to the first warehouse, the second one was just a trash warehouse.
His excellent professional demeanor did not affect his performance. The Host walked up to the stage as if nothing had happened.
“I announce the start of the auction for the third warehouse. This is the last one, and it absolutely cannot be missed. Otherwise, if you participate, you might go home empty-handed.”
Hearing the Host's words, everyone was unimpressed.
With Humphrey and Bruno, these two Tycoons, competing, they weren't fools. Why would they compete with two people who weren't short on cash?
As Treasure Hunters, they were curious about what the last warehouse looked like.
After the large door was opened, they still surged forward and squeezed inside.
In the middle of the warehouse was a long table, with many Blueprints scattered on the floor, and rotten food placed on the table.
Hit directly by the stench of decay, everyone covered their noses but did not retreat.
This warehouse was too strange, and they were curious about what good things might be inside.
There was a lot of dust on the paper, making it hard to see what was drawn on it.
There were many jars and containers on both sides of the warehouse, and several Incandescent Lamps hung from the ceiling.
This warehouse looked like it had been used as a studio or workshop.
However, it was too dirty and messy, with many tattered clothes and rotten food, suggesting it had been inhabited by a Vagrant for some time.
The crowd looked around for a long time but truly couldn't find anything valuable, not even trash worth a little money.
Thinking that a Vagrant had lived there for a period, everyone understood.
The Vagrant must have taken everything valuable.
They shook their heads and retreated, all disappointed.
Bruno was curious about every warehouse, enduring the pungent smell to look around for a long time.
He was also one of the last people to retreat.
“This warehouse is full of trash. There's no need to bid on it.”
Bruno frowned as he came up to Qin Yun and said with great distaste.
Qin Yun shook his head, feeling that this warehouse was strange.
These three warehouses were connected, seemingly belonging to the same owner.
The other two warehouses had gold sand. If this warehouse wasn't used as storage, why wouldn't it have anything good?
Thinking of this, he immediately activated the Profound Vision Treasure Eye.
The warehouse actually contained purple treasure light.
