91: Warehouse Game

Walter's expression changed, but he didn't lash out.

After hearing about the Eastern Kid from his subordinate Brother Wu Ying, he hadn't taken Qin Yun seriously.

He thought Qin Yun was just a hyped-up Treasure Hunter whose actual strength wasn't worth mentioning.

A young man, without much experience, and a person from Xia Country.

How could he know so much about warehouse culture and items in America?

The Eastern Kid must be a fraud.

However, when he learned that Qin Yun had found treasures in a very short time that he couldn't find in a lifetime...

Walter understood in his heart that in terms of strength and luck, he was far from being Qin Yun's match.

If this match was a test of strength, he would definitely lose miserably.

But this Warehouse Auction was mainly a game between two Tycoons; with a little strategy, he could still suppress Qin Yun.

What he was considering more now was: what was Qin Yun's purpose for coming to New York?

How could he take those treasures from Qin Yun?

How could he keep Qin Yun under his control?

Since Brother Wu Ying died, he urgently needed a senior Warehouse Treasure Hunter to build new connections for him and prepare for his transition to legitimacy.

Humphrey saw Qin Yun appear and felt dismissive in his heart.

Wasn't his good friend Bruno so aloof? Yet he still found a helper.

But Bruno's ability to find help wasn't great; how did he end up with such a young lad?

He was either blind or desperately grasping at straws.

A newcomer could never compare to a senior Treasure Hunter with five or six years of experience in the Warehouse Auction industry.

"There won't be any problem defeating this rookie, right?"

Humphrey looked down on Qin Yun immensely and asked with a hint of contempt as he walked with Walter.

"Of course no problem. That man might have some ability in Warehouse Auctions, but he lacks experience. Just scare him a bit, and he'll surely lose his composure."

Walter still wanted to befriend Humphrey, so he didn't voice his internal concerns.

"That's easy. I'll target him during the Warehouse Auction; that kid will definitely be scared out of his wits!"

Humphrey laughed a few times, fully confident in defeating Bruno.

The Host stepped onto the stage and announced that the Warehouse Auction had officially begun.

"There are three warehouses up for auction this time. These all belong to wealthy individuals. If you like them, you'd better not miss out. Buying them will definitely be worth it."

The Host knew about the competition between Humphrey and Bruno, so he started fanning the flames as soon as the auction began.

If the two Tycoons started competing, the commission he earned would be even greater.

Many people at the scene whistled, urging for a quick start.

"Stop dawdling. We're here to see the warehouses, not to hear you brag."

"Start already, my patience is running thin."

...Unlike the other grumbling Treasure Hunters, Humphrey and Bruno's eyes were filled with fighting spirit.

They were determined to defeat their opponent this time.

Their method for determining the winner was to see who could earn the most profit with the least amount of money.

That is to say, the cost of buying the warehouse divided by the warehouse's valuation; whoever had the smaller number would win.

This was a relatively fair competition.

Otherwise, with their financial resources, buying all the warehouses wouldn't be a problem.

It would then become a contest of wealth, completely losing the point of the competition.

Their competition had many intricacies.

The clash began during the bidding.

Every bid was a test of the opponent's bottom line.

They had to consider not only their own estimates of the warehouse but also the opponent's level of desire for it.

This was a huge challenge for others.

For Qin Yun, it was only a slight hassle.

He could see the general value of the warehouses; as long as he didn't reveal his true intentions, it would be fine.

The Auctioneer gave a dry laugh, knowing he had incurred public wrath.

"Alright, I won't say more. You can all view the first warehouse now."

The Staff Member stepped forward and unlocked the first warehouse.

Everyone rushed forward impatiently to check the situation inside the warehouse.

A scrapped pickup truck sat in the center, but it was just a shell; the critical parts had all been gutted.

On both sides were some old car parts and maintenance tools.

There were no valuable items like engines, transmissions, or brake components.

Next to the truck was a blue cloth bag.

The cloth bag had aged and had a hole in it, revealing many clumps of dirt.

Seeing this, everyone was very disappointed.

Wasn't this supposed to be a warehouse from a wealthy area? Why did it look so pathetic?

The car was a Nissan; even if it were brand new, it wouldn't be worth five thousand dollars now, let alone being just a shell.

This warehouse looked like a small workshop used for basic vehicle maintenance.

With a bag of dirt, the vehicles here were probably for transporting waste.

The items in the warehouse had very little value. Everyone lost interest instantly and backed out, shaking their heads.

Both Bruno and Humphrey were carefully inspecting the warehouse.

They both wanted to find something worth a bit of money in the warehouse.

If there were valuable trifles inside and they secured them at a very low price, the probability of winning would be higher than winning by bidding high for good items.

The two looked for a long while, but besides a pile of scrap metal, they couldn't find a single usable part.

Qin Yun and Walter also hadn't left, following behind the two.

"You've got some nerve. After offending me, you still dare to come to my turf. Aren't you afraid that you and your little beauty won't be able to return?"

After glancing at the warehouse and knowing it was full of worthless junk, Walter saw that Qin Yun hadn't left, so he leaned in and whispered a threat.

"I'm not cowardly like you. In front of the nine dragons precious sword, you were more well-behaved than a little rabbit. Compared to your warehouse-viewing skills, your talent for changing faces is quite good. Can you tell me the secret?"

Qin Yun didn't care about Walter's threat at all; he chuckled softly and exposed Walter's weakness on the spot.

"Sharp-tongued. I hope your life is as tough as your mouth!"

Walter glared at Qin Yun. Seeing Humphrey finish inspecting the warehouse, he quickly left Qin Yun and went to meet him.

As Humphrey passed by Qin Yun, he cast a cold sidelong glance and lightly bumped into him.

"Watch yourself. Since you've offended me, I guarantee you won't be able to survive in New York."

Humphrey glared fiercely at Qin Yun and threatened him in a cold tone.

Qin Yun noticed Humphrey's petty move and bumped back with his shoulder without yielding an inch.

Humphrey hadn't expected Qin Yun to dare strike back; he stumbled and almost fell to the ground.

Fearing he'd draw attention, a look of resentment flashed in his eyes, and he walked back as if nothing had happened.

Bruno noticed Humphrey's petty move toward Qin Yun and quickly ran forward.

"Qin Yun, are you alright? You don't need to fear that insidious fellow. With me here in New York, I guarantee you'll be fine."

Seeing Humphrey suffer a small loss at Qin Yun's hands, Bruno felt very happy.

Worried this might affect Qin Yun's performance, he stepped forward to offer reassurance.

Qin Yun hadn't originally considered this competition a big deal.

But with Humphrey and Walter repeatedly causing trouble, he made up his mind.

This time, he would definitely crush the opponent with an absolute advantage.

He hadn't planned to use the Profound Vision Treasure Eye on the first warehouse, but now it seemed there was no need to save it.

A streak of rich green treasure light appeared before his eyes.
