154: Slamming the table and turning on someone

Qin Yun couldn't help but suck in a breath of cold air.

With nearly two hundred well-equipped soldiers, Lyon could even massacre the organizers of this auction.

This was why the organizers were so respectful toward Lyon.

Of course, Lyon wouldn't actually do that; it was possible the Lyon Family was even part of the group organizing this auction.

"These are the soldiers I trained personally. They might not be much in America, but in Belgium, with the same troop strength, few units would be my match."

"These soldiers were selected through layers of screening and underwent rigorous training to look as they do now. Their salaries are among the best in Belgium, and with the advanced weapons I imported from abroad, they can look down on anyone in the country!"

Lyon introduced them to Qin Yun with a face full of pride.

Qin Yun was deeply shocked.

This was what made the warlords of Belgium so formidable.

They had money, power, and elite private militias. It didn't matter who the president on stage was or if Belgium was in a state of civil war.

Compared to other citizens, these people were beings who stood high above.

"These soldiers are indeed not bad, much better than average American soldiers. To be able to train such a fierce force shows you have genuine talent."

"I heard you graduated from West Point Military Academy. Your grades must have been among the best, right?"

Qin Yun complimented him with a look of excitement.

This was true power. No matter how powerful a consortium in America was, they could at most indirectly influence the state machine; they would never possess such an independent armed force.

Having such a lethal weapon in the hands of an individual was purely detrimental to a nation, but of course, that had little to do with Qin Yun.

What he needed now was to use Lyon's power to escape Haishizi's control.

"I graduated third in my class. Among the students of my year, not one has the leadership experience I have today. When it comes to fighting a war, none of them are my match."

"My time at West Point Military Academy was my happiest. I haven't been back to America in six years, and I miss my classmates who fought and struggled alongside me..."

Lyon spoke incessantly about his time at West Point Military Academy with a nostalgic expression.

Qin Yun nodded in agreement from time to time, speculating in his heart.

This man had a very favorable opinion of America; he was likely a pro-American force cultivated by the U.S.

He silently searched his memory for anyone he knew who had close ties to the U.S. military.

He soon gave up; among his acquaintances, only his bodyguard Dewey was from the military.

However, a common soldier like Dewey and an officer like Lyon were likely from different worlds.

"After these years of practice, your military strength has surely reached a higher level. None of your former classmates should be your match anymore."

"May I be so bold as to ask, how many battles have you actually fought?"

Qin Yun played to his interests, asking about Lyon's military exploits.

An inexplicable aura radiated from Lyon. With a cold face, he began to reminisce about the battles, large and small, he had experienced. Just as he was about to speak, he was interrupted by Haishizi's urging.

"It's getting late, and everyone's stomachs are growling with hunger."

"Qin Yun knows nothing about the military. Telling him about your great achievements is like playing a lute to a cow; he won't understand."

Haishizi hadn't expected Qin Yun and Lyon to converse so cordially and quickly interrupted their friendly exchange.

Lyon was just about to share his thoughts, but before he could speak, he was cut off by Haishizi.

He glared at this killjoy, but he also knew Haishizi was right. It was already past twelve o'clock, and it was time to eat.

"My apologies for being abrupt. This way, please. I've already had my men prepare the meal."

Lyon provided a car for Qin Yun and the others, while he himself climbed onto the armored vehicle to lead the way.

After driving for half an hour, the road ahead was blocked by large stones and fallen tree trunks.

"Whose people are you?"

"You must declare your identity here before you are allowed to pass!"

Over twenty soldiers with machine guns shouted loudly at the convoy.

The soldiers Lyon brought were all brave veterans who acted with impunity in Belgium. Today, someone actually had the audacity to stop and check them.

They immediately became annoyed, clamoring to force their way through.

There was a loud "Boom!"

The armored vehicle suddenly fired a shell. Sparks flew, rocks scattered, and the roadblock was enveloped in smoke and dust.

Lyon's soldiers were startled by the sudden shell, but not a single one of them panicked.

Instead, they began firing their rifles forward.

When the smoke cleared, the roadblock had been blown to pieces, and half of the inspecting soldiers lay on the ground.

Seeing this, the surviving soldiers were scared half to death. How could they dare to return fire against these ruthless, well-equipped soldiers?

They wished their parents had given them two more legs as they used every ounce of strength to flee in all directions.

Several people scrambled onto a truck, driving away from these demons!

Lyon climbed onto the armored vehicle carrying an RPG.

"Leave the truck to me. The snipers will handle the rest."

Hearing Lyon's command, the snipers ran to high ground and picked off the enemies one by one.

Lyon aimed for a long time, in no hurry to pull the trigger.

Only when the truck had driven over a hundred and fifty meters away and was about to turn a corner did he give a cold snort and pull the trigger.

The truck instantly turned into a sea of fire; no one on board could have survived.

Seeing Lyon display such might, the soldiers began to howl and cheer.

Lyon waved his hand with high spirits and shouted loudly, "A bunch of trash, they can't even take a hit. Let's keep moving."

Julia hadn't expected a one-sided massacre to happen right before her eyes.

Her face was pale as she gripped Qin Yun's arm tightly, her body still trembling uncontrollably.

"It's okay, it's all over."

"Lyon having this kind of strength will also help us escape Haishizi's control."

Qin Yun held Julia, gently patting her back and comforting her in a low voice.

After a moment, Julia recovered and looked at Qin Yun with a determined face, saying, "Thank you, I'm okay now."

Qin Yun pulled Julia onto his lap and fell into deep thought as he looked at the flames ahead that had not yet been extinguished.

Could he really rely on Lyon to escape Haishizi's control?

Lyon was so unscrupulous and moody; if he were to offend this man, would he and Julia be in danger?

He shook his head, clearing the distracting thoughts from his mind.

He had essentially flipped out on Haishizi now; once they returned, he would surely be under strict surveillance and guard.

Solving the problem of Haishizi was the most critical thing; for the rest, he could only act as the situation dictated.

An hour later, the convoy finally arrived at Lyon's military camp.

At that moment, rows of troops were training. Seeing Lyon's vehicle, they all stopped to salute.

Lyon got down from the armor and returned the salute: "Continue training."

After giving the order to his subordinates, he invited everyone to dine together.

Lunch was laid out on a long, rectangular white metal table.

There was whole roasted lamb, beef legs, steaks, and various fruit salads; it was very sumptuous.

"I just searched your name online. I didn't expect you to be so incredible, being able to find so many treasures from abandoned warehouses. My loss in this competition was not in vain."

Lyon handed Qin Yun a lamb chop and spoke with a face full of curiosity.

"I just have better luck, that's all. These things aren't much compared to your military achievements."

"If you were to go to America to participate in Warehouse Auctions, you wouldn't be much worse than me."

Qin Yun gently complimented Lyon's sore spot.

Under the table, Haishizi kicked Qin Yun, reminding him that he was under his control.

Qin Yun ignored him completely, clinking glasses and chatting happily with Lyon.

"We hit it off immediately. Why don't you stay here tonight, and we can go to the auction together tomorrow?"

Lyon was very interested in Qin Yun and invited him to stay after they finished eating.

*Bang!*

Haishizi slammed the table, stood up, and roared.

"No, I won't allow it!"
